Phone Thieves Stab Woman To Death And Call Her Family With Her Phone To Tell Them She Is Dead

This is shockingly sad and I pray to God that they are caught to pay for this senseless and wicked act......

A 41-year-old woman, Oluwakemi Odugbesan, has been murdered by suspected armed robbers in Ketu, Lagos.

The deceased was said to have been stabbed multiple times by her attackers around 6am on April 10, her husband’s birthday.

It was gathered that the woman was returning from a vigil when her attackers in an attempt to collect her phone and handbag, stabbed her multiple times in the chest and rib regions.

Sources said the deceased, her husband and three children were billed to relocate to Canada in a few weeks before her death.

Her attackers called her parents with her phone to inform them of her death.

Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the case has been transferred to the homicide section, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation.

  1. That is why I avoid anything that will take me out of my house before 7am in his Lagos. Only God is saving us in this country because this country is not safe at all. No security. May her soul rest in peace. Grant her eternal rest oh God.

    1. Exactly. Let's not struggle with robbers. They have nothing to lose. Your life is note precious than anything they want.

  5. So what do we call this now? Could it be a hired assassin? Stabbed her to death and called her family to inform them? Height of vileness.

  11. Ketu! That area is so busy and unsafe. Lord have mercy on the people living there. This is so sad.

May the Lord rest her soul, comfort her loved ones and also punish her killers.

  12. Investigate the husband asap.
Multiple stabs...too much for a phone.
    Quite fishy

    1. Exactly my thoughts too, can it be that the husband wants to travel and begin life afresh. I have learned from watching American crime shows that sometimes there is usually more to stories like this. Imagine calling the family. They should investigate the spouse, if he is clean no problem too.

Why kill her? That was how they stabbed my neighbor 2days to his wedding,he went out to buy something on the street and met them.He didn't want to let go of his phone so they stabbed him.thank God he survived but he went to his wedding from hospital bed.

    1. "He didn't want to let go of his phone" This the primary reason why armed robbers kill. Why place more value on your phone than your life.

  15. Investigations should start from the husband and family members.

  17. She probably refused to give them the phone when they demanded for it. Do not struggle with armed robbers, even if they are children. If possible offer more than they asked for. Do not give the impression you recognise them even if you know them reach house. I remember the guy they killed along Sapele -Warri road back in the days, he was struggling his car key with the robbers and they shot him multiple times. 6am? Day don break na, my kids leave for school by 6:30am . The thing is she was probably destined to die that day. Robbers came to my house years ago, they were threatening to shoot my then 6 years old son who was sleeping and had no idea what was going on. I had no money in the house, I offered my personal belongings they refused to accept. I gave them one of my ATM and they got angry. Our saving grace was my wife who had a thousand dollars at home. One of the idiots almost shot me after they collected the money. I have no pity for thieves, l will never have pity on them. Once they are caught by the police /vigilantes they become vegetables and start singing. Cowards

  18. I would rather suspect another woman. Someone that wants her husband and wants to take her place to Canada

  19. So sad! For an ordinary phone. The heart of man is evil.

  20. You are very correct. If Nigeria had good detectives, they will investigate the husband’s phone records & bank account to see if he paid hitmen to murder his wife under the pretext of armed robbers.
The husband did not want to call her parents himself, so he had the hitmen to call her parents.
Wouldn’t it make more sense for the robbers to call the husband?
And when did armed robbers start calling family members to inform them of murder?
Mr. Husband wants to move to Canada with his kids & the women he has been secretly dating.
