Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola Talks About Near Death Experience And The Importance Of Reading Leaflets Before Self Medicating

This is for those of you who have turned Doctors at home and self medicate serially.

According to her;

Good morning Everyone my name is Opeyemi Aiyeola

I made this video because I think I would help one or two people. it's about medications that we use whether prescribed or over the counter medications, not reading the mini leaflet or the package of the medicine. I'm actually 100percent guilty, as long as my doctor tells me the dosage I'm fine I won't read the leaflet to find out side effects or precautions. It almost cost my life and innocent people around me.

Everyone knew I have been working back to back now, so I've been feeling very low and under the weather I kept on moving like an unstoppable train. Two days ago on set I kept on complaining about my health, and people on set with me said it was just malaria symptoms.

I called a friend who advised me to buy over the counter malaria drugs, after I bought the the medicine I drank garri then took the first dose of the malaria medicine without reading the leaflet inside. The next day I took the second dose unknown to me that the side effects was dizziness, nausea and many more and I had to drive from my house to Ikorodu.

While on set I passed out twice and I was rushed to the hospital where I still passed out again. We later discovered that it was as a result of the malaria drugs. Thinking about how I drove from my house at Ogun state to Ikorodu was endangering my life and the lady who gave me the drugs. When test was carried out they discovered no malaria but a trace of typhoid and I didn't read the leaflet. I have learnt my lesson....  thank God it didn't take my life.

This is just to encourage you all to stop self medication and diagnosis. Start reading medication leaflets to know the side effects and precautions. Thank you

  2. What about hospitals where you are not even told the name of the drug especially in private hospitals?

    1. Don't collect any medication from any pharmacy if they refuse to tell you the name of the drug.
      It's your right to know what you're swallowing, so always insist on it.

    2. You're are very correct but most private hospitals will never disclose the name to you.A hospital here still has my money because I refused going with their drugs that had no labels

  3. How can you even take drugs after drinking garri? Is garri a balanced diet. One needs to feed well before taking these drugs or am I missing something?
