President Buhari Tells Agitators That They Are Naïve And Ignorant Of War And He Would Never Restructure Nigeria..

On Saturday June 19th, President Muhammadu Buhari vowed that his administration will not restructure the country and warned that those agitating for separation and canvassing for restructuring are naive and ignorant of war.

The President stated this when he spoke as a Special Guest of Honour during the Launch of Kudirat Abiola Sabon Gari, Zaria Peace Foundation which took place at Ahmadu Bello University Hotels, Zaria, Kaduna state.

Buhari said that the nation does not restructuring, adding that most people carrying the subject about do not even understand what they are talking about.

The President was represented at the event by the Executive Secretary, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Shehu.

“And again, those who are discussing restructuring, my question is that what are you going restructure?” Buhari asked.

“If you ask many Nigerians what are they going to restructure, you will find out that they have nothing to talk about. Some of them have not even studied the 1999 constitution. The 1999 constitution is almost 70 to 80 percent 1979 constitution.

“The other issue is that those who are calling for restructuring and confrence on what they call ethnic nationality, If you go to Southern Kaduna, Taraba, who is to represent them? We have different combination of ethnicity in many states. Even Kano and Kaduna Igbo have properties. The same goes with Yorubas.

“There are Fulani in Port Harcourt. So those calling for whether separation or restructuring, some of them I will say they are very naive or even mischievously dangerous. Those agitating for restructuring are ignorant of war and its consequences. Because Nigeria is a dominant force in west Africa.

“There is no government in the world that will cede their authority to the people that are not elected.
You are telling us to resolve a system and call for an obscure conference to come and discuss how we can move forward as a nation, that can never be done and no country will agree to that.

“So those who are doing that should go back and meet their representatives in the House of Assembly and ask for whatever amendment of constitution. Due process should be followed.”

  1. Telling a people who structured what favors them to restructure it is the worse request you would ever make. The North is always afraid of restructuring, for they have impoverished their regions and want us all to suffer the terrorism emanating from their sponsorship.

    Let me borrow the words of a popular Senior Pastor and Apostle;

“You will go after IPOB? Yet you cant go after killer herdsmen?

“IPOB seeks to pull out of a part of Nigeria. Killer herdsmen destroys the whole Nigeria.

Who should be dealt with urgently?

“Tread with caution sir. They might have no one in power to speak for them, they have GOD.”

    Me: Continue sipping my zobo.

    1. Why is it that the old fool is always talking about war? Nigeria will never be united, and you can't force people to unite. So, let's go our separate ways and let people focus on developing their regions. Why should there be war? Marriage is not by force.

    2. Cos that is what they are good at in threat. They will beat the drums of war and turn around to accuse you of instigating war. Isn't that the height of foolishness and stupidity?

How does seperation affect those who have properties in other regions? Shows he is a dunce. Does it mean that if biafra breaks away all properties belonging to yorubas will be forfeited? Shows hes a super dunce, a statue, a dog collar

    1. What we Igbos should be on about is how to push out these cows in the government. We almost succeeded during Jonathan but we lost it. If we gain leadership at the Presidential level then we can divide the country but with Hausa man at the top it will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for them to let go. This the stark reality

  4. People are saying the present Constitution is tilted in favour of a particular part. This part through fraudulent population censuses, have its people dominating the National Assembly, how can these people allow the advantage they now enjoy to be taken away from them?

We totally have nothing in common. We are parallels.

  6. Is people like Buhari who believe in stagnation which has stalled future progress and human development in Nigeria. He belives in this narrow but very dangerous mind of pondering & revolving wealth around through mischievous old regime order that benefit opportunits like him. Nigeria needs a new done and a new start that will encourage every region to grow organically including his northern amagiris' not a nation being spearheaded by old criminals in power.

  8. *“So those who are doing that should go back and meet their representatives in the House of Assembly and ask for whatever amendment of constitution. Due process should be followed.”*

Many of you didn't read that part. I'm a democracy, the legislature makes the law & they are the one to give you restructuring or whatever you want.

The South West Houses of Assembly recently gave the region Amotekun. The south east can do the same for referendum and secession. Thier repsentations at the National Assembly will then present this at the NA as thier consensus for debate and vote.

Anyone doing otherwise and carrying flags up and down are deceiving themselves. Buhari has no power to give you referendum or restructuring. The national assembly does have that power.

    1. This is it... But no one is following this path. If all the law makers from a particular region put heads together and raised a motion for it's region, it will be able to achieved great things. If the national assembly refuses to look into it without a reasonable excuse, let all the law makers pull out of the Assembly and declare it independent.
