Saturday In House Gists - House Help/Nanny Tales.

This post is about house help and Nanny tales...
If you have been lucky with them, some people have not.......

Some house helps help build the home while some help break it.....

Some allegedly use charms to snatch what is not theirs, while some maltreat the kids, steal and turn things upside down ......

A lady said by the time she realized the damage the Nanny (who doubles as a house help) had done, the husband had moved out, her small kids had been exposed to things not suitable for their age and she had nightmares every time she closed her eyes.

Have you had the worst experience using Nannies or house help? A BV once sent me a video of her house help confessing to witchcraft and i was so shocked and scared that i had to conclude that she was shooting a mini Nollywood series at home... LOL

Lets gist!

  1. I just got a live-out house-keeper. I hope I enjoy the service as I don't have problem as a boss.

  2. I have been lucky with helps, can’t lie. I have also been really nice to them in gratitude for their level head. Not too much drama, no stealing, nice to my kids, mostly tidy, the rest we do together. I didn’t do medical test any of them but that was my personal preference, and ensured they all had their own personal hygiene products while my kids got their immunizations to avoid stories that touch.

Drivers on the other hand, chai.... when I got tired, went back to driving myself.

    1. Drivers are as unreliable as NEPA. Best bet is for one to be able to drive well incase one needs to function without them when they disappoint.

    2. Maybe you have a condition yourself. Why put your kids in harm's way? Not everything has a vaccine and Children can be innocently stupid. I have caught my baby cousin using my toothbrush before. Just imagine if I had something I could pass via that God forbid.

  3. My advice for anyone who wants to get an housemaid is to first pray fervently about it,then take them to the hospital for check up afterwards to the church to your pastor,to avoid stories that touch. Fix hidden cameras in your house and let her or him Know that nothing is hidden.

  5. My live in nanny just left today. She only stayed 6 months and claims she wants to go get married. She was a fantastic help. Helped with the baby, helped also with house chores. She cooked for the driver, security guard and younger help. I gave her so many incentives to stay, but I guess when you have to go, you have to go.

  9. Had the same live-out nanny for 7 years. We were always fighting around salah and new year time because she will use every excuse in the world to disappear for weeks at a stretch even extending beyond new year resumption date for work and children’s school.

Every year we settled it and continued😂

Gave her a raise almost every year. Ever time I got a raise at work, she got one too. Make all of us dey move up together👍🏽

  11. I remember my Dad gisting me that he caught the nanny giving me knocks on my head when I was a baby. It was during the day, and she wasn’t expecting anyone to come to the house at that time. My dad went to pick up something he forgot at home. He parked outside the compound, so she didn’t hear the car. He heard me crying when he was about to knock, and decided to go peep through the window. That was when he saw me receiving knocks😂 Some nannies are just somehow.

  13. In the abroad having a nanny is one luxury not alot of people can afford, and if you must have them, then they must be treated strictly as employees, with full holiday pay, permits to go on sick or annual leave etc. otherwise na domestic slave master you be.. This is one luxury most of you in Naija can afford... In the abroad it is a far fetched dream for most.

  14. I’ve been blessed with good nannies.. I’ve had about 7 in my 14 years of marriage. Had issues when I was having the underaged gals but switched to tha adult nannies since about 7 years now and I’ve enjoyed having them around. They usually pamper the kids. Have a high sense of initiative. We keep in touch even after they left. Just that they can eat for Africa but for me, as long as my kids are well taken care of and my house is clean. I’m good.
