The attack on the house located in Oru East Local Government Area reportedly took place around 1am on Sunday June 6th...
Reports say the gunmen broke down the gate of the house, destroyed all property found in the building and then set it on fire.
The Commissioner Chief Emelumba has confirmed the incident.

Though I understand that it gives a sense of justice to people when the politicians get a taste of the violence, it should still be condemned. Cos they will turn on the middle class when they are done. Eat the rich, is also eat anyone richer than you. And for the very poor, the criminals and arsonists, the middle class is the rich they see. The guns they are gathering will never be returned. It will be used to commit more crimes and no one will be safe. While Nigeria may need a referendum, violence is NOT the way. Governed by repressive leaders, despite their crude oil wealth there nothing on ground. Museveni of Uganda came to power after his troops fought their way from the jungles to Kampala. A former teacher of mine was the greatest supporter of Biafra. As a person who truly saw the need for Igbos to protect themselves after the pogroms, I shared the same view and I still maintain that Yorubas should have stuck with justice instead of fighting that war. As a child, I saw this teacher as a true believer till I asked him why he truly desired Biafra. He then said it was because Ojukwu promised that after the war was won, soldiers would point at any house in the land and it would become theirs. Mind you this was a lie. I laughed till I was sore and then immediately began to fear this greedy murderous pauper. This man was willing to kill people in order to rob his own people- what a foolish mindset! What a heartless way to think! He had not moulded a block in his life but was willing to shed blood and then steal from his fellow Igbo. These are the people that are deceiving people all around Nigeria. From the Gumis and Kanus to the Igbohos, they are "helping" to help themselves.
Nigeria has an unworkable formula/ constitution as it was built to fail by the colonial master. But we have no one else to blame if our Constitution is faulty and remains unfixed. However, asides from a referendum, there is no other way to go unless you are ready for a worse kind of hell. Listen to the Nnadis and Akintoyes and consider the options available. The international community will not sponsor any war unlike in the 60s so just like Scotland in the UK, na mouth and vote we go use settle this matter as a country that has not given one kobo cannot come and take the little I have suffered to gather.
