Actress Stella Damascus Defends Herself After She Was Accused By Instagram Followers Of Supporting Domestic Violence

US based Nollywood actress Stella Damasus said this while addressing fans who accused her of supporting domestic violence after she posted a movie scene of how a wife fought her husband who was almost beating her for insulting his girlfriend as she walked in on them making out on the couch.

She said;

''For me, posting that clip was not to promote any domestic violence. Here is why I posted it

I have been in the industry for 27 years and our movies would always portray the women as the victim all the time. The way the scene would play out the man would kick and beat his wife out. It's now a norm in Africa and Nigeria, for a man to now slap his wife or beat is wife people think it's fine but it is not.

I'm not here to promote domestic violence it's clear that you are a man, you are saying "violence between man and woman is wrong"... no one said it's right. You are talking now because it is the other way around.

We have seen films where men will slap their wives have you ever talked about it? have you ever used your phone and itching fingers to warn men to stop beating women? You have never but because the roles are reversed all the men are coming out to say " it's not good, you are supporting violence" I am not supporting violence, I am supporting every woman to be able to stand up for themselves if you have an opportunity to learn martial arts learn it so that any man who wants to lay hands on you, molest you, rape you at least have a skill in you to be able to push them , strike them then run for help if you will see help because in the culture where we come from when you say your husband raped or beat you they would turn it around for you to look like the perpetrator.

You as the victim will be victimized and traumatized''

  5. I like this get up, rather creative. Isn't husband snatching or cheating on a devoted man a form of domestic violence? I honestly think it should be categorized as such. Well done on your project, anyways.

    1. No it is emotional abuse.
Domestic violence is mostly physical .

    2. Psychological abuse is also listed under domestic violence. Domestic violence refers to any physical, emotional or psychological trauma people inflict on others in a home. When it's between a couple, it's called intimate partner violence.

It wasn't Stella she was supposed to fight. It was the man that allowed himself to be snatched.
Anyways Stella has dumped him ,who knows the next.

  9. Don't bash her because you don't like her..I watched the movie. The man was constantly cheating on the wife and beating her too. She couldn't take it anymore and so she went to learn how to box. She already had enough and beat the hell out of the guy....
If you are in a violent relationship, please leave. Not everyone has the opportunity to learn any form of self defense o. Just leave before it is too late, regardless of what the society or family thinks. But yeah not the same woman that stole someone's husband and silenced her, now talking about women supporting women. Abeg miss me with the ejor wewe.

Not moving on is what make them stagnant.
Even when those involved have moved on,they will keep replaying the issue as if it just happened.

  12. This one thinks she can buy women folks with this her senseless rants. Stella stop acting like you care about women, stop acting like you're your sister's keeper. As far as we're concerned, you're a very wicked woman with deep hatred for your gender that did nothing to you. Miss us, me especially with that crap you wrote up there.

    1. God forgives sins alright but the Bible says that wisdom is the principal thing. Apostle Paul persecuted and even killed Christians in Jerusalem when he was Saul till he got converted. Do you think it was a mistake that he was assigned a mission to the Gentiles? Let the family members of those he killed not lose hope in the faith because of him.

Stella Damasus needs to make her posts and discussions about other topics and leave marriage/relationship talk alone, she caused a lot of life changing difficulties to many people. Let those close to her advice her.

    1. We would, only when she admits that what she did was wrong, call her spade a spade, preach against causing fellow women and their kids pains by snatching their husbands/fathers away from them. You can't do some evil stuff right before everyone's watch and come back to act and talk shit like what you did was nothing.

  16. Stella is making a lot of sense though but i can't get pass that hat and glasses! why put on the hat and glasses indoors? Anyways! continue with the preaching! As a guy, i totally agree with you dear

  17. Stella has a load of thick skin I presume to continue making utterances like this. I hope her daughters don't feel victimized.
