Court Sacks Secondus From Parading As PDP National Chairman

The crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a new twist as a High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, granted an interim order restraining Prince Uche Secondus from parading himself as the National Chairman.

In an interim order signed by Honourable Justice (Dr), O. Gbasam and the Assistant Chief Registrar (Litigation), Patricia N. Victor Nwoka, the court restrained Secondus from performing the functions of the PDP National Chairman.

The opposition party has been in crisis following the resignation of some national officers and the stringent call by some stakeholders for the resignation of the National Chairman over what they described as poor leadership.

To save the party from crisis ahead of the 2023 general election, PDP critical national stakeholders, which includes the 13 states PDP governors, Board of Trustees (BOT), National Working Committee (NWC), former Senate Presidents, former governors, and many others on August 10, 2021, brought the party’s National Convention forward to October.

The court also approved the suspension of Secondus as a member of the party pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

Those named as claimants/applicants are: Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nna Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen and Umezirike Onucha, with defendants cited as Prince Uche Secondus and PDP.

  1. That's their problem...PDP(people's Destructive party) and APC(Alliance Poverty company) are one and I have no time to even think about them..

    1. Pinky you are back? Welcome. Hope all things went well.

By the time Nigerians understand that these two parties are the same, the better for us.

  2. PDP should put their house in order fast if they want to make any impact in the 2023 elections.
However, we're tired of the PDP and APC. They're the same thing. We need a new set of credible leaders in this country.

  4. This is how they create confusion amongst themselves.
If the majority in the party says they don't want you, honorably resign, instead of sitting tight.

This mentality of "do or die" in politics is what is killing the country.

Just party chairman, you don't want to leave, then imagine presidency.... 😗

    1. A court cannot suspend a party chairman though. There are constitutional means within the party to do so. Having failed to achieve this, the desperado kuku opted for a kangaroo bought judgement. Why not take the case to a federal High Court? The term is already over anyways so what's the tantrums for? PDP belongs to all. By the way, Secondus is the most successful PDP Chairman even in opposition.

    2. Anon 12:20, did you say successful?
Secondus is not the best chairman in these times because he is neither warm or cold, his tenure is over anyway, so he should just go and rest because he always comes second because of his name anyway.
PDP is in the opposition but they don't oppose anything and they want power come 2023? odiegwu
