Family Of Dead Actor Stanley Okoro Allege He Was Poisoned On Movie Set

The family of fast rising actor Stanley Okoro, allege he was poisoned by colleagues.
Okoro, who was popularly known for his comedy roles in movies, died on Wednesday from alleged food poisoning.

According to the family, Okoro was poisoned after successfully completing a movie shoot in a hotel at the Maryland area of Enugu State.

The family alleges that he proceeded for another movie shoot in Asaba in Delta State but that unlike him, no pictures were taken to know those he was on set with.

Although they cannot tell if the 23-year-old actor was having problems with anybody that would want him dead, the family said that Okoro’s only problem was his obsession with food.

Okoro Nneka Loveth a very close Cousin to the deceased, Okoro Nneka Loveth, who spoke to Daily post on Thursday, said the late actor loved people and carried everyone along.

Her words, “Stanley happens to be my Cousin. A very close Cousin. Stanley was poisoned. And the person that poisoned him was among the people on set with him as of last week.

“Usually, whenever he came to Enugu, he’d either call me for food or call one of our Cousins to get him food. Stanley liked food a lot. He ate a lot.

“So whenever he asked me for food, (usually I’m very busy) I’d send a Keke (tricycle) driver to go and deliver it. I have one Hausa Keke driver that usually did that for me or I’d go myself or my other Cousin wouodl go herself or send one of her girls.

“But this last time, he came, we only talked on the phone. They were in Enugu for a movie shoot. Their location was at Mariland, Enugu. Thereafter, he left for Asaba for another one.”

“So after the movie shoot, he went back. He apologised that this time, he could not meet with us but that he’d be coming back the next week. Stanley left Enugu four days ago to Asaba and said he’d be coming back next week that they have another movie to shoot.

“He lived in Owerri(Imo State) but this poisoning could have happened in Enugu or Asaba. Immediately he got back to Owerri, the thing started happening to him as if he had a stroke and he started vomiting. He was vomiting black liquid. A native doctor invited even disclosed he was poisoned. Stanley was walking to the toilet when he shouted for help over a burning chest and collapsed.

“They rushed him to a hospital and on getting to the hospital Stanley gave up. So the person used a fast poison. Maybe as they rounded up shooting and decided to eat, the person just took advantage.

“Throughout yesterday, we did not sleep. In fact, Stanley did not deserve to die. That guy was nice and carried everybody along. In fact, everyone in my village is crying. He was so down to earth. The only problem he had was that he liked food a lot. He ate too much.

“He was not married but may have been in a serious relationship. He wasn’t even up to 30 years . I can’t tell if he was having problems with anybody [that would want him dead]. He didn’t tell me of anyone.

“Stanley lived his life like an hausa man, he wouldn’t even take note when someone is angry with him.

“Currently, Stanley is in the mortuary and for now we don’t know what to do. He was around 27 years of age. ”

Lovett said that the family has started deliberating on his burial arrangement and that the actor would likely be buried on August 26.

*Is it not possible he had a cardiac? Vomiting something can also be a sign of ill health that was not attended to...

    2. The family of late gani fawehnmi has instituted an autopsy report on their brother Mohammed.
The guy was surely poisoned not any heart attack story, he never had heart problems.
Phoenix, pls he wasn't physically challenged, his car was knocked off his lane in a mysterious terrible accident in 2013 leaving him last last in a wheel chair.
Mrs Stella don't hold back comments about moha, it could be anybody's turn tomorrow.
      Be guided.

    3. He wasn't physically challenged but he was in a wheel chair after the accident, so what does or did that make him? For someone to be phalysically challenged does not necessarily mean he or she has to be born with the disability. It can happen at any point in time .

      The right word is incapacitated.
Physically challenged means you were born with some disabilities.
      Moha wasn't born with any.

Incapacitated means sometime along his life, an injury sustained rendered him incapable to tend to himself.

Some of us had good English teachers, respect that.

    5. A big shame to you and your English teacher. Pick up your dictionary and check the meaning as well as the causes. I can't believe you came back to argue about this when you could have just checked your dictionary or Google ..

  4. Na wa o. They have not carried out autopsy on him and this woman is already accusing his colleagues. If you people care enough to know what killed him , try and gather money as a family and carry out autopsy on him. So the guy up there was just 23 yrs old! Indeed fat is bad.

  5. An autopsy will confirm if he was poisoned. I doubt he was though since you say he was a foodie. It could have been his blood sugar levels went haywire.

My dear people, having a blood sugar monitor and blood pressure machine in the home is a must. Check your blood sugar levels an hour after you eat. For those of you eat swallows in the night or eat in large quantity, hmmm.

May his soul rest in peace.

    5. Anon be calming down, there are other causes of black vomit, mustn't be poison.

Can rem one Christmas back home, i got sick from all the eating, threw up so much, nasty black-like vomit. You would swear i was poisoned if not for the fact i was home all day and ate along with everyone else.
I was so weak, yet the vomiting won't stop, was rushed to the hospital, first time i had my stomach pumped.

Las las, it was some supplements i was taking that were the genesis of my problem. Something i ate triggered my already unbalanced stomach, long story.

Medical checkups are neccessary, you'll never know what's going on in your body.

      Rest in Peace Stanley.

    9. Most Nigerians don't know what medical checkup is,everything is witchcraft or poison.

Some supplements contain fillers that are harmful to the body after prolonged use... always visit their site and study the ingredients very well before buying.

  6. Not everything is poisoning. Nigerians always looking for who to blame for misfortune.

I see no mentioning of him going to the hospital prior to his collapse. It could have been a liver, kidney problem unchecked. Even typhoid abd malaria not treated properly are deadly.
Cousin kept harping on 'he eats a lot.' His only problem is he likes food too much'. And being on set means he eats food from different cooked by different people.
Ordinary Egusi soup I ate from a very popular restaurant I had diarrhoea for 2days, I didnt step out of my home.

My advise is for people to reduce eating out to the barest minimum. This one that I'm hearing they use panadol, iron etc to cook meat, hypo for fufu, nails for beans, MSG etc.
May his soul rest in peace.

    1. Thank you Anon..Food poisoning is not always the case of putting 'Otumokpo' into someone's food.

Food poisoning is when you ingest microbes that release powerful toxins in your gut..It is usually acute due to dehydration and loss of body electrolytes happens almost instantly..If medical attention is not given on time, it can result to death...

    2. Phoenix you are close but not totally correct.
Food poisoning is ill health that can be traced to food consumption
There are 2 types of food poisoning organic and inorganic.
The microbe type organic, inorganic is for instance when someone puts Arsenic in your food

  7. The family should have an autopsy done to know the cause of death. May his soul rest in peace.

  13. Its so sad for such a young and aspiring young person to just die. One thing we are very good at is blaming people over such a death rather than looking inward. I thought this guy is older than this but I just realised its the addiction to food. Physically this guy has an underlying problem with food which has also caused a lot of other health issues. We don't look after ourselves. We only go to doctors when we are ill but there are a lot of people going around with underlying health issues that can make one just drop dead at the drop of a hat.
Rest in peace funny man. You will be missed.

  16. So sad. This one that the cousin is talking about Native doctor, that means he wasn't taken to the Hospital for proper diagnosis until the illness escalated. Rest in Peace Stanley. That's why I'm always afraid for people who like food too much and can eat anyhow and anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Adieu Stanley
But this cousin's only problem is that she talks too much and jumps into conclusions too
quickly. Your brother was sick (or dead?) and you already invited a native doctor?
Why not take him to the hospital or do an autopsy if he was dead to find out the cause?
The ease with which people rush to the devil is frightening.

  18. He was vomiting a black substance and the first thing his family could do was to invite a native doctor instead of rushing him to the hospital.

Being obese predisposes one to a lot of health issues.

Whether or not this was the late Okoro's case, if you know you're one evil soul that goes about murdering people, stop it. RIP young man.
