Labour Room Drama 311

 WOW

I got married with a lot of drama from the In-laws, lots of spiritual battles but God gave us victory.

I got pregnant 3months after, Ist trimester, i could barely eat, couldn't drink water without throwing up, hubby was so helpful, he would go to the market, cook, wash and clean.

One night I had a dream where I was menstruating, prior to the time I had that dream, my pastor had stopped calling me cause he felt I should have told him first about my pregnancy, as he said I shouldn't tell my family and friend,(we are close knitted family, orphans, we share any and everything as a family)....

So i started praying in the dream in a loud voice, telling God i am not going to call pastor or anyone but him alone is God, I can't loose my pregnancy, I will carry to term and birth with ease.

I Woke up and told hubby about the dream and we prayed... I told God I want to be having a time with him each day, and he told me 5pm.  I would sing, dance, read some Bible verses and pray. Second trimester was better...

Fast foward to 5months+, I went for scan at the private hospital I was using, was told I had fibroid, I was bothered, but God took charge as always, hubby and my family kept encouraging me, I went through some old posts about it on SDK blog, and there were so many encouraging comments, I was later advised to register at general hospital as it was my first pregnancy, I did and the scans I had there, didn't show any fibroid.

At 40weeks, still no sign of labour, 5days after was antenatal, the doctor told me to take my file upstairs (labour ward), that I will be induced, close to the ward, I started crying, the screams and shout from women there was scary, I started praying, and God put a song in my heart, "the joy of the Lord is my strength"... all my fear vanished, my strength was renewed. At about 10pm, the doctor inserted a Foley bulb catheter, the procedure was painful, and he told me before morning it may fall off.

Slept well although the night, another doctor came at about 9am and removed the catheter,I was about 5cm dilated, oxytocin drip was fixed, and (CTG) to monitor the heartbeat, for hours the pain was bearable, kept sipping 7up(for strength) and breathing deeply through the mouth, the doctor came, and said I was suppose to be screaming, touched my tummy and said i am contracting, then he bust my water and the pain increased.

Not up to 10 minutes, I started having the urge to push, and I was led to the delivery room, and after some pushes my beautiful daughter came out, she was placed on my tummy and I prayed for her, I was injected on my thigh and the placenta came out, I had tear which was stitched without anesthesia, the pain was more than the labour pain....

God is ever faithful, I will be ever grateful, all praises to him alone. Thanks Stella.

Congratulations to you!!!

    1. Not all Nigeria hospitals,I think it depends on the hospital. I had my 2 deliveries at Reddington Hospital VI and I didn't even feel a stitch when it was being done. I was on a phone call throughout the stitching thing and I gisted through it.

  22. So why the need to add the pastor part since it had no correlation to the delivery.? You want us to conclude on your pastor or what exactly was the need for that paragraph.

Congratulations and thank God for safe delivery.
