We all know what fibroid is and we all know that google has all the answers but what google cannot tell us is your personal experiences.

Is there any local herbs that shrinks fibroid?

What's your Fibroid situation? do the tablets prescribed to shrink it really help or worsen the situation?

Tell us your orthodox/un-orthodox route of getting rid of it.

IT IS WELL!

    4. Fibroid is a monster that dealt with me in 2016 till 2019 when I made up my mind and went for the surgery. Every month was a battle for me then. Excessive bleeding to the extent of seating in the toilet for hours and blood would be gushing out like pump, the heart palpitations from low blood counts, the dizziness from low blood levels, the weakness and all. I experienced all the symptoms for three years and drank all the herbs but nothing happened. I finally went for the surgery and I thank God it was successful.

    5. Wow....Stella thanks for this topic.

My Fibroid journey began 2018. Then I dint pay much attention to it because it was small and my flow was fine. Come 2020 it grew in size, and from single it turned to MUTIPLE because I want eating wrong!

      I was:

      Taking white bread
Taking Nzu and Ulo (bad addiction)
      Taking Soda
      Eating meat
      Was stressed to the teeth.
      No exercise

But come this year. I focused on MAJOR detox! I read that fibriods are normally caused by too much toxins in the liver. So I did detox and exercised morning and night. I did cut off all those tins I listed up there. Changed my diet and you know what? My monthly flow changed, it reduced. I knew no herbs can work so I focused more on detoxing and exercising. During the course of this my 'change ' some of my fibriods fell out. Yes...I was in the bank and felt something like a contraction then I noticed two big lumps fell out of me. I was padded though due to the watery discharged that comes with fibriods. That thing is bad.

I detoxed with infused lemon and cucumber I took it like water and also green tea (once in a while) I am still taking them. It worked for me because my symptoms reduced drastically.

NB: Do what works for you.

  2. Terrible stuff. Heavy and painful periods. Waiting for surgery. My gynae said I should go on Zoladex for three months to shrink them a lil bit so I don’t loose too much blood during surgery. Wasn’t keen to take that injection but it seems it’s their standard procedure here in the UK. Everyone I know was on it before surgery. I heard the side effects are horrible. Just took the first injection yesterday, 2 more to go. Fingers crossed

I hear there are herbs that take care of this. I know someone who couldn't take in because of fibroids but since she started taking the herbs, there has been improvements and she has got pregnant now

    1. Yes, there are herbs for fibroid treatment. The woman treating me told me the same thing, she will use hand to massage and bring my womb back to the normal position and insert some thing in my womb to shrink the fibroid and make way for it to be able to get pregnant.

      Delete
    2. Beejay, have you seen improvements? Again depends in the size and location, there is a size of fibroids nothing can shrink, except to take them out. If yours are small, leave it but if it's big, stop wasting money and time on herbs.

      Delete
    3. Please there are no herbs for this monster, you will only waste your money and afyer few months the struggle continues.i drank all the herbs they suggested a d even did the one they called 'pump by akwa-ibi women and still nothing happened. The only solution is surgery. I'm talking from experience

All of the above symptoms, some skin ailment, that I don't know the name yet, heavy discharge (Not blood) , I have to pad up 24/7

I should have removed them(multiple and very big) since but it is too expensive. I know I will survive this. I am a fighter

    2. How much os the surgery? Let us know, maybe help will come. I hade my partial hysterectomy in October and lufe has been awesome. Before then, it was hell. I had to wear Always night pad, then lined the pad with a diaper, wrapped my butt with bed protecting sheet and then wear an adult diaper. I was always having two sets of work clothes in my car, as I would soil myself with blood. Pad change was every hour and I was spending my money on iron and B complex supplements. I wish that I could shste the picture for you to see the size. I was as big as a kid's basketball.

  5. I was diagnosed of it October and not in my wildest dream did I ever think of having it cause I don't have big stomach though from my teen years i have been battling heavy and painful periods. The scan showed one big one and two small outside my womb and I was told for this size it's been there for like 2years.
Prior to when I went for scan I do feel a movement when I lie down and I was not comfortable with it. I told my mom and she said it's my womb that is moving around cause I have not been sexually active for years. I also observed my stomach was getting wider and bigger. If I touch my abdomen it's strong like a rock.

I have decided to leave it cause I heard since its big no herbs can shrink it except I remove it surgically and God knows I cant. I don't have the mind for such invasive procedure. I am in my 40s, nobody in this world is waiting eagerly and excitingly for menopause like me so it can shrink off. So I heard.

  7. My fibroids were manageable, till it became unbearable. Years, before I took them out, my gynae advised me not to remove them, if they were not causing me discomfort. But as years rolled, my monthly period was something I didnt look forward to. The pain was something else. The bleeding was another thing, the sharp pelvic pain. My tummy was so big, I looked pregnant to the point my mums friend was congratulating me. 🤣. My journey @ the hospital, hmm thank God I survived it. It wasn't easier. My periods are lighter, and shorter days💃💃💃. Cramps have started showing face again, 🙄, but it's still better than before my myomectomy.

    10. Please stop the herbs. If you want to help the symptoms, please cut out red meat, eggs, yam, anything with soya and soy. Drink green tea and take vitamin d. I just had the surgery in the UK and my surgeon who is the best in this, told me to stop all the above from my diet and also cut out dairy as fibroids grow with hormonal imbalance and estrogen which all the above foods are heavy in. Also no refined sugars, so basically cut out junk foods. It seems ALOT but there are so many alternative foods that you won’t miss most of these. I drink decaffeinated green tea and take my vitamin d religiously. Please do your research, plenty of info out there. The Lord is our strength

    11. Anon 0.02, it's like I wrote this. I was told same thing by my doc. Please and please again, ladies, avoid those organ-killing herbs. Don't let anyone deceive you. Just change your diet and stick to the new plan. It'll yield results in less than four months. For those of us who can't do without poundo or eba, please replace with wheat/oats swallow, make tomatoes your friend. Tomatoes and kale never runs out in my home. I carried all my pregnancies with fibroids in me. All shrunk because of my diet change. NB, do more of green leafy veggies. Let green leaves be your side dishes, smoothies or even snacks.
Be intentional with your health, not just because of the fibroids but for your general well-being.

  10. Mine were multiplessssss

Heavy bleeding, discomfort, can sit for long time, can't lay flat, looked pregnant and the pain......

Was afriad of surgery but when I couldn't bear it anymore with the encouragement of hubby, I went for it.

What was removed from me baffled even the doctors and nurses. They asked how I was able to carry these for six years.

May I also add that herbs don't shrink any thing because if it's herb, I took different types from different sources which cost us 300k but never did anything

Then doctor told me that what this herbs do, is that they break the fibroid into piece and then you feel its gone, but by the time they begin to grow, that's when you see multiples (like 15, 20) etc

Mine was more than twenty with children, grandchildren and great grand. Baco bag was almost more than half the full bag that was why I spent more than 3 hours in theatre because the doc was bent on removing every bit of it.

    Be careful with herbs

It may be linked to our diet, being unable to consume vitamin d from sunlight, environment, it’s literally so many things. But it’s more rampant when you hit your 30s it seems.

  19. So 7months ago I did a scan for something else and myoma was spotted, when I took my result to the doctor I was like, Doc please what is myoma? He said fibroid😏😏.

I was like what is it doing in my stomach?😂😂 the good doc started reassuring me that there was no cause for alarm yet as the fibroid were still small and it was spotted outside my uterus blah blah blah! Ogbasidim sef!

I told my sister about it, she was worried and was telling me to do this and that to make it go away, I just told her I wasn't bothered and the same way the fibroid appeared in my tummy is the same way it will disappear.

Whenever I come online and read some comments as regards fibroid(really scary) it makes me wonder but I try not to dwell on it. I was scheduled to do another scan(I also did a second scan and the myoma was still there), before I went to the hospital I prayed and asked God to make it go away.

I went for the scan and there was no fibroid in my stomach, the sonographer looked and looked. This is a testimony o and I just want to give God all the glory, Lord knows I don't even go to church always nor do I pray so much (I wish I did more, I pray really simple prayers and tell God what I want) but the good God always always always come through for me, guys I have a whole lot to be thankful for.

Now, don't look down on the hospital because of the price. I made that same mistake. That hospital has a lot of qualified professionals that know their jobs. I mean their surgeons are really really good. If you are lucky to consult with the CMD himself, you are blessed. That man, has gifted hands with an awesome personality. He will be more than a doctor to you but he is a very busy man. He did my surgery and I was walking around well the next day. I'm two months post surgery today and I'm very hale and hearty like I never had fibroids/complex cyst or two complex surgical procedures. God bless Dr. Anate.

  26. Hi Stella,

Thank you so much for raising this topic again. Please continue to, as the number of women suffering from fibroids rise.

Let's say fibroids have me looking nine months pregnant, low blood count, annoyingly mega heavy period, fatigue and overall weakness of the body.

The past three years have been quite difficult but that's life. Please I am in search of good hospital (s) in Lagos for surgery. My 2022 resolution is to invest more in my health; starting with taking out the fibroids.I had hoped they would shrink but they seem far from shrinking and menopause is still far for me.

Meanwhile, I do hope we can have a platform in the future to discuss and research on fibroids, perhaps we can discover the root cause, thus know its prevention. I wouldn't want any human to ever have to go through this.

  31. Hmmmm, fibroid..I think there are different ways to go about it when a woman is faced with it, but it is best to follow a pattern that works for your body.
Herbs are good, just that for some body type it might just cleanse you but the fibroids will still be there, while for some people it takes the fibroids out but not completely, it might even result to a prolapse (the fibroids hanging out of the cervix). Some people are lucky that the herbs they take completely pull the fibroids out.
Every individual has a unique way it reacts to the things we ingest. The female reproductive organ is so unique that we need to properly take good care of it with the food we eat, detoxify/cleanse,lifestyle, practicing good hygiene, exercise, hospital check ups etc.
My personal experience has given me knowledge on the "Woman's health.
Please, as soon as you have a painful monthly period do go see a physician, there are so many things that comes up from painful periods.
If fibroids are discovered, please quickly discuss with your care team ways to stop it from growing and proper management. I will say start with a good diet plan, include lots of proteins & greens, as blood is lost during the monthly period and we need to replenish nutrients in the body to help with red blood cells production to avoid being anemic.
Fruits are also good, take a little of it as they are high in natural sugars. A balanced diet is best for good proper health management. You can also check online for best options of the type of foods to help with your condition, based on your country of residence, you can also talk to a dietitian if you have that access.
For those that will require surgery, speak with your physician about the options of surgery, you have a lots of questions to ask.. Please ask those questions, your care team should enlightened you on pros and cons for different surgery types.
For me, I will say surgical hysteroscopy is a very good option as in, no invasion and the healing process is fast.
    pardon me, lengthy I know.
