Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative...

Hmmm......

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE...
My HIV story

I shared my story in 2007 or so on the blog.

This is to encourage anyone who is also affected to keep hope alive.

I tested positive few months to my traditional marriage, I was sick, not serious sickness sef and the hospital I went to a general hospital normally asks everyone that comes for treatment to go for HIV test.

My world came crashing, me HIV?

The name alone is enough to kill, I called my husband to be immediately, cos we had been dating for 5 years , I never cheated on him, so I believe he would be positive too, he came to the hospital to test ,and he tasted negative, in fact he was asked to come back after 3 months ,still the same.

I almost committed suicide, if not for my husband who stood by me all through, and still standing 12 years later, I even suggested we cancel the wedding, but my husband said no, he went ahead and married me, both traditional and legally, and God almighty blessed the marriage with 4 healthy boys.

Adhere to your drugs, it will protect you and also protect the people around you from contacting the virus, your kids will be negative, and if your spouse is negative, he will continue to be. The story of Yinka jegede ( you can google her) also motivates me, take your drugs, anytime the thought comes, say it and believe it that the virus can not kill you, and stroll out to chat with people.

My husband has never used my status against me, he's still the same man I married, caring and loving more than a decade after, he still goes for routine test, and I thank God he's still negative.

I use my drugs well, and I've never had any breakdown in my health to the glory of God, my viral load is undetectable, no one in both families know about it, its a secret between us.

I don't go to the center to collect drugs again, because thats the place most people will get to know you're a carrier if they see you there, I pally with someone there and she charged 5k ,and gives me 3 months drugs, though the drug is free, but if you go through backdoor to avoid people seeing you at the clinic then you must pay, some rich people pay far more.

If you can, i will suggest you go to clinic far away from your neighborhood or a neighboring town for your treatment, to avoid stigmatization. we do routine test Once yearly to know our viral load, and mine is always undetected, I feed well and eat fruits a lot, I take my drugs just 1 daily, you can't even suspect, that's why they say " e no dey show for face" .

I even had covid, but it was mild ,God is indeed wonderful.

I try not to stay idle so I won't think about it, its a gradual process but if you don't give up, the HIV will just be a name and nothing more. My husband is a hero, despite the fact that sometimes I behave somehow to him, but he's always calm and loving, people always say I'm lucky cos they know he doesn't joke about me and the kids, in fact he always tells me his prayer is to take me abroad if God blesses him.

I can beat my chest and say he has true love for me, a man that loves you will love you ,no matter your status, my prayers is that God should bless him for us and also give me a job so I can assist him. Amen.

Please do anything you can to stay healthy if you're infected, and please know your status early, mine was almost late, my CD4 was so low it was almost AIDS, and I was still very healthy .

I believe in miracles but I still use my drugs and never miss any dose.

* I hope the poster of Wednesday Chronicle is motivated to stay alive by this story.... I also pray you have a partner that understands and will not run once his results come out negative.

All the best to those who need a tight hug.
Poster thank you for sharing your story.

My sister's husband was +ve but never told my sis who later discovered after 3 years of marriage after she found the drugs he takes secretly and googled the uses of the drugs.
She asked him about it which he denied at first but later accepted and said claimed he didn't tell her because she might refuse marrying him.
In addition to domestic violence, cheating and not contributing to anything in the household by my sister's husband, she is fighting HIV currently. I've begged her to leave at least for the sake of her children but she has no where to run to.

I'm trying my best and saving up to make enough money to take her out. I cry anytime she calls me in tears.

  2. God bless you ma, you are an inspiration to everyone. I hope we all learn or take a thing from this.
There's something I heard from a friend, she suddenly developed elephantiasis, medically it wasn't cured so she went the trad way in enuguezike, it was a success and they told her somebody laced her shop wit the disease, that she should locate the place where the illness was sold to the person. Of cos, they gave her hints, turned out some ppl sell such sickness including cancer, tb, HIV etc at a very ridiculous low price.

  3. Thanks for sharing. I thought this was my story when I read it. I wrote is yesterday and will write it again. I told my fiance then immediately he showed up and began talking about marriage. I told him about my past. I did runs, sugar daddies and all. I wasn't surprised when I was diagnosed HIV+ but thank God it was detected early. Finding Christ was the change I so cherish. It was a waste of life living outside of him all the while. My husband has been negative And several years down the line he hasn't used it against me. He has remained very supportive. He is negative and our kids are negative too. I also eat a lot of fruits on the advice of a doctor friend. I take my medications regularly and both my husband and I are believers in Christ. Even Jesus said that the sick needs a physician.

    2. 15:44 I understand YOU perfectly.🤗

      God is sovereign.
We cannot question God as a pot cannot ask the potter why did you make me this way?

That's why the Bible in Ephesians 2 said IT IS BY GRACE that we are saved, NOT BY WORKS lest any man should boast.

The race is not to the swift, nor battle to the strong....

Not by power or might but by my Spirit, says the LORD.

One thing though, NO GOOD THING WILL GOD WITHHOLD FROM THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.

      All in God's time.

      KEEP FAITH. 💖

    6. @Favor
For seeing having sugar daddies and doing runs as virtues, aren't those wickedness? Instead of rejoicing that someone who lived in sin got saved and restored to life, she is vilifying her for confessing and rejecting the type of life she lived.

  8. You're so lucky with your man, you married your God's ordained husband, not everyone is that lucky. Most men will abandon such woman.

I read a story in one group on facebook just now, and it's a lady that listened to the VN someone sent to her husband.

The lady accused the man of abandoning her after infected her with HIV. She now went to ask the husband who denied that he's only trying to avoid the girlfriend.

So from the wife's findings, she saw some drugs in her husband's bags and google them where she got to know they're HIV drugs.

She said they have 3 kids already and her husband has been using CD for her just to avoid another pregnancy. She went for tests with her kids and they're all negative. But the man refused to open up or go for HIV test.

The wicked man is protecting his wife at home but infecting different women outside. Only God can help us

    1. I don't want to sound negative but some people will sleep with HIV infected person and will not get infected but can infect other people because the virus can not penetrate their cells(due to the mutation of gene encoding ccr5 which act as a co_receptor)to multiply and be destroyed by their tcell and so the virus stays in the system and gets cleared with time but can infect others within the period it is in the body so a man or woman might infect the partner but when tested only the partner that was infected will test positive. Google and read about those special people who are under 10% of the world's population.

    2. Anon 15:49, I have heard about them. I also heard they are so prevalent in one East African country, everyone should just be careful and HIV is actually better than some diseases, a medical assistant in a dialysis center told me this.

    3. 17:48 HIV is not something to toil with. It’s better to be negative than deal with the emotional trauma that comes with it. Stay safe out there folks.

  10. Dear yesterday's poster. Please don't kill yourself. There are more fast killer sicknesses out there(God forbid it happens to any of us). HIV doesn't even kill anymore. There are drugs and even a recent research saying there might be a vaccine this year. Please do not be discouraged.

  27. Poster thanks for sharing this to us. It serves as a guide to help those who have HIV to help them understand what is ahead of them but sadly a lot of people die from this disease because they refuse to take the medicines. Those affected with HIV turn to churches for miracle healing they start fasting, they will not take their drugs looking to pastor for healing there is no back door to curing HIV. I lost 2 family members to AIDS they both stopped taking their drugs the were jumping from one church to the other one crusade after another. They were also fasting from 6am-6pm everyday they lost weight and it all happened in front of me. I lost them both one died in 2015 another died in 2016. Then I was not well informed about AIDS like I am right now. If you have AIDS or HIV stay away from fasting it causes more harm than good. Eat well take your drugs hopefully a new vaccine will be out to tackle this dreaded disease. That drug you are taking fights the HIV in you suppressing the virus thereby making it undetectable so that it will not harm or do anything to your internal organs. Please we should always do HIV test before marriage it really helps. Poster God bless your husband he is a kind and understanding man! HIV is real. Protect yourself.

  29. Previous poster thinking of committing suicide because of hiv, please don't do it.

You can lead a normal life still.
One My husband's auntie has been living with hiv for years now, don't even know how long, but it was even before I married my husband. How I found out, is story for another day, but you wouldn't know at all.
She looks healthy, engages in every activity she chooses.
She's so normal that when we all met at the village last year, one of husband's cousin's said auntie.. shouldn't do this chore, and his brother asked why, cousin mentioned the hiv and brother said he thought the hiv had gone! Cousin reminded brother that hiv had no cure na. But my point is, this auntie, who's even in her late 40s looks so good, bouncy and all.
Oh, she even had a baby just 3 years ago after ttcing for over 5 years o, even with the hiv, baby is negative.

Just get to a Government hospital after you have done confirmation of status. Take your meds and eat fruits and vegetables.

Since he sent us out since my first son was 3yrs, he has never asked of how his son is doing, but I thank God as a private school teacher, my son is in 200 level in the university. It's not been easy, but I thank almighty God

  33. I love the part where both of you decided to keep it just among you both. That my friends, is what marriage is.

I hate the part where people are forced to live in secrecy cos of fear of stigmatization. It's ok if its a choice but truth is society makes that choice for you. I must say, being Nigerian is not easy. Living in Nigeria as well, is frustrating. I understand cos I once worked in a large hospital in Nigeria and you're right. Most of our patients who come for their HIV meds come from outside state, or send their trusted drivers or lawyers to come get the meds. Those that come by themselves, remove the ARV packaging and put the tablets in their own containers with various labels. Most people think their spouses are taking meds for diabetes or blood pressure not knowing these are HIV drugs. So much fear, so much secrecy. And what does that do to our data? No high-quality data on HIV cos the data is so adulterated. All we have are estimates with wide margins of error. How do we cure what we cant diagnose?
