DowenGATE - Dad Of Late Sylvester Oromoni Says He Will Not Bury His Son Until He Gets Justice

Mr Sylvester Oromoni, the father of the late 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a pupil of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos has restated the family’s commitment to get justice, saying that he would not bury his son even if it takes 30 years to get justice..

He also kicked against the report of the autopsy carried out at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, and alleged that there was foul play.
.
Sylvester’s death went viral following a social media post by his cousin who alleged that some senior pupils of the school beat up Sylvester Oromoni Jnr in his hostel because he refused to join a cult.

  1. So painful.... Justice is seldom found in Nigeria. The system is very bad and discouraging. I will advice they bury him and continue pursuing their case if they wish. It's not good to keep his corpse that long not knowing when and if justice will truly be served.

    Justice delayed, justice denied.

    1. Keeping his corpse will not give him justice. Let them go the native way by giving the boy a knife to kill all involved. Case closed

    4. Hmmmm, I don support going diabolic, cos it will cost the soul of the young boy to be sold to devil, they should allow him to rest and leave vengeance to God. May this not befall anyone of us in Jesus name

    5. He should allow the soul of the innocent boy rest in peace and leave vengeance for God. Allow the innocent boy rest abeg. He's been through enough already

    1. If justice/Karma is to be visited on all who has a hand on Sylvester's death, it will not spare his parents, especially his mother. If you follow this story, you will find that the attitude of his parents after they were called that he "fell" were extremely careless. How many days again did it take the mother to pick that child from school? When he was picked up, how many days again before He was taken to the hospital?
Autopsy says SEPSIS...and the family Toxicologist and that of Dowen were there as well as the Govt's rep.

As a mother, I find this whole case disturbing because it could have been avoided. Maybe the woman has many children that will make her not rush to see her baby when called or take him straight to the hospital when she eventually did.

    2. Thanks Anin15:46, both the school and the parents are culpable of negligence in this case because I can't fathom why as a parent, you tool a visibly sick child home for days after you had already delayed in picking him up from school. You didn't ask for a good hospital in the neighborhood (or google/check reviews), but took him home as well f your house is a hospital!
It didn't occur to you as a parent that for the school admin to call you when they have a clinic, that means its obviously beyond the scope of the school.
In saner comes, both school admin and parents will be charged for death due to negligence.
I wonder when we women will realize that a man can father a child in his 80s but once menopause sets in, you can't vex and decide to have a child.
Adult children she monitored too. May we not be unfortunate in Jesus name.

    3. The parents too are culpable. ur son was so ill and u kept him at home for so many days b4 rushing him to the hospital? He was so ill but was able to fly home from Lagos instead of being rushed to a hospital? And after so many days at home the toxic substance was just resting in his stomach? His mouth was so disfigured and he was kept at home? Hm I don’t even know who to believe in this whole saga. May Sylvester’s soul RIP. Amen

I told my mum who is not internet savvy about the case and she was so emotional that she went on her kneels and prayed for vengeance, I cried Watching her do that, then we were watching tv and the news came up, there was a picture of sly on and I told thats the boy that was murdered and she said "nwa loru uwa ndo nna, nde nile aka ha di na owu gi agagi ahu ihe oma na uwa ha" and I said "use"

  9. If I talk now , some people will say Na nollywood film e dey happen. Stella, if those five boys caused the death of that boy, hmmm, I am a Yoruba woman , I don’t know what obtains in other tribes , in my side ehn, those 5 boys will die or run mad, there is absolutely nothing their parents will be able to do about it. Won ma ya Werey ni. In the spirit realm their hands will be smelling of innocent blood, there is not fortification their parents can do for them. Once we do the normal normal, hmmm, let me stop here. As it is, the only thing that can save those 5 boys is IF THEY ARE NOT THE ONES WHO INFLICTED THE INJURIES THAT CAUSED HIS DEATH. Then you see all those other ones that collected bribe to kill the case 😂 they will be used as collateral damage. Stella there is power oooo and the only thing that stops its work is God Almighty ONLY when you are innocent of whatever they accuse you of. Eni tI o ra gan a San nbe. 16. They should call that boy’s spirit and tell it to go after his killers ! The only thing is that they must not shed tears anymore once they take the traditional route. You must not cry again once you decide to fight your battle spiritually, your heart must be hardened, that’s the only way justice will be swift and seamless . It is better to throw away those killer boys inside dustbin so that lawma people can carry them and go and crush them somewhere because nothing good can ever come out of them again, their destiny has spoilt. Sylvester’s spirit will not allow them drink water and drop cup.

  20. Me I don’t talk o when anyone offends me, nobody will be able to know which direction I strike from. I hide in the grass like a green snake then when you least expect, I strike and draw blood. This family should not talk much again. They have the names and pictures of the five boys , they know what to do . Everyday I Thank God that it is not only physical justice that is available to man, if not , e for rugged for people who have no connections. There are other surer ways to avenge this death . Government has no power in that area.

  22. Vengeance is of God. All of you talking about going the traditional way to avenge his death, do you know that the Devil does not give you a gift for free? If he assists you to take revenge, he will take something in return.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Which devil? If you know anything about african traditions, then you'd know there is no devil in those beliefs. Spirits are called upon to carry out assignments, not the devil. The devil is for/from the white man's Christianity & Islam. And it is not 'free' because sacrifices are offered.
Also, there are some people who do not need to invoke spirits. Just offend them & you're in trouble. Just a tear of pain & you don enter be that. Those ones are mostly elders in the spirit realm. They are highly protected & powerful even without their own knowledge.
Stop relying on nollywood to teach you things. Remember too that not everyone is a christian
Lastly, if haven't walked in certain shoes, maybe you shouldn't tell those who have to leave vengeance alone

  23. Autopsy is purely science, there are no emotions about it. If Mr Oromoni disputes the autopsy, he is at liberty to invite pathologists from any where in the world to Carry out a fresh autopsy. Seven of the finest minds in the field of pathology observed the autopsy that was carried out in Lagos. Consultant pathologists from UBTH, UCH, LUTH, Central hospital Warri and Lagos State University teaching hospital. None of the seven pathologists had issues with the autopsy . The result of the toxicology carried out in Warri by the Oromoni family align with the result of toxicology carried out in Lagos. At the rate you are all going, none of you will learn anything from the unfortunate death of Sylvester.

What I have learned in the events of the last few weeks reenforces what I have always believed. Nigerians do not have the culture of going to hospital for regular check ups. Between when Mr Oromoni was informed about the health of his son and the death of his son, too much time was wasted. Time that the young Sylvester could have spent in the hospital for treatment. From the autopsy report, young Sylvester had knee injury that was not treated over a long period. The knee injury led to the damage of his organs. We must all learn to be there for our kids and take them to the hospital for regular checks

    1. Thank you. Sad to say the parents were negligent. A matron of a young boy that died of sepsis in Ubth where she works. He broke his arm while playing football and hid the injury from his parents for fear of further scolding. His sister was covering up for him and helping him with his chores. By the time it was discovered it was already too late. Sepsis has sent in and unfortunately he died.

    4. Alexander, you have made a worthy contribution to the post and comments like yours deserve to be part of the conversation. Not everything should be about emotion sometimes we need to put our logical and rational minds to work.

The sad thing is the parents had the financial means to procure good medical care. Unfortunately, as humans we are all prone to making mistakes and miscalculations, some costlier than others. I hope they eventually come to a place of peace. As someone who is childless I cannot presume to know the depth of their pain. I hope everyone learns something from their story and become a little wiser in their own parenting.

    1. How does someone who arrived at the school healthy suddenly develop sepsis? Why was he in so much pain to the extent he couldn't walk? How come his lips were burnt? Why can't the lagos state government consider the boy's account of what he said happened to him and how it happened? Why can't the government consider the eye witnesses' account of what happened to the little boy? Will someone automatically develop sepsis without something triggering it? I know even if this boy does not get justice, somehow his killers will never go unpunished except they confess.

      Delete
    2. Please also add the anons trying to put the blame on the parents. Wicked souls.

  25. So those boys beating him and kicking him doesn't count? Despite eye witness report from students that physically witnessed the whole thing and the deceased's confession?? He fell off his bunk bed but all these don't matter. His lips was peeling, I guess that was also caused by the knee injury.

Sylvester, rest in peace. Whoever had a hand in your death or contributed to your death or manipulated any result concerning your death will not go unpunished.
