  1. Halima wants to be associated with ugly/negative things.

Everyday someone is chasing you, doing you bad, hurting you, blah blah blah.

    Babe examine your life.

  4. The way people dispose used pads carelessly especially in the office is alarming... What I usually do is to tear the upper part of the pad, the inner part that the blood is soaked which looks like cotton wool, I flush it properly. Afterwards, I rinse blood on the remaining part of the pad and dispose. I usually have a toilet kit in my office which contains soap, disinfectant, etc..so I wash my hands thoroughly afterwards..

    1. AND you dont think the cotton you keep flushing is not biodegradable and as such a problem to the toilet channel ? I mean sewage problems. Imagine if everyone decides to flush the wool because it is wool and not plastic? Think about the environment as well.

    3. instead of all that stress or messing the toilet can you bring a nylon or old newspaper wrap it up and take it home and dispose properly at home

  5. I use ladycare or dry love. After each use, I open it, remove just the cotton wool and throw into the toilet then flush.
The other nylon part I wash with detergent till it becomes pure white, then I dispose in the dustbin.
So as not to waste detergent (as everything don cost for naija), you can tie the nylon part in a nylon bag and wash when you are don with your period.
You can wear a hand glove if you feel irritated.

  9. They can't try that nonsense on Believers in Christ; that is where security is.
    Else you all have to learn to dispose;
    Your poops
    Your sputum
    Your saliva
    Your breath
    Your footprint
    Your urine
    YOUr sweat
Your hair; like after using the saloons.
Your nails; when you clip them
Yes, those in the Kingdom of Darkness can use any of these as portals to reach
    your souls.
It is safest to be in Christ! πŸ€”πŸ€”

  16. Since I had my 3rd baby I have being having heavy flow especially on the 2nd and 3rd day. It's so bad that I can't seat for an hour straight without getting stained. I wake up twice in the night to change pad and my bedsheets will still be stained in the morning. I even asked on FAQ and wonderful BVs gave me lots pad brands I could use...I got some of them and the story was still same.

Then I casually mentioned it one day I was discussing be with an older friend, she asked 'shebi u get napkins? The ones u use for kids in place of pampers', I said I do, I got a pack of it when I was preggy with my first child ( it's 6 PC's inside) and I have only used 3 so far. She asked me to get the napkins, divide each into 2 equal parts, fold and place on my panties as my pad. I disagreed with her, told her it can't last, moreover, it might be uncomfortable...etc. she just encouraged me to try it once and if I'm not satisfied I should stop.

I waited for months b4 I made up my mind to do it, then u had to wait for the month that my period will fall on weekends so I will stay home while doing it.

Las Las I tried it, I couldn't believe I have been wasting time and resources all these while. It's even more comfortable than pad, no scratching, leaking or anything. For the first time since having my baby I could go to bed while on my period and not wake up to a soaked sheet.

I have sliced two napkins( that means I now have 4 pcs) to use. I no longer have the fear of standing after sitting for a while, I no longer fear traveling when on my period...all at no cost.

Some people will say how can they be washing blood...I laugh in Swahili. My dear if I can wash my kids poo and urine na my own blood I no go wash? Ikwakwakwakwa.

So all these talks about people picking people's pads e no concern me again. I use and wash in peace. After each cycle, I sosk everything in hot water with detergent and bleach, leave for some hours... probably over night, wash them, wrinse thoroughly and sun dry. After I iron them, put in a clean bag and wait for the next month's visitor.
I no longer dread my period coming, in fact, I now look forward to it.
