Man Laments Over Wife's Death Due To Hospital Negligence + Baby Dead Wife Birthed Fighting For His Life

WHAT!!!!

In a series of Tweets, He said......

''Good morning family, I am really heartbroken now, My wife died at MEADVILLE GLOBAL HEALTH CENTER (HOSPITAL) N0 1 Bashiru Street, off Lateef Adegboyega Street, Ago Palace Way Okota.

We just got married 10 months ago, she took in, she was undergoing Antenatal in onitsha Anambra

She was undergoing Antenatal in the hospital till on Sunday 28th March 2022, she did all scan and test requires of her and everything was perfect.

On Sunday noon 28th March she chatted me up that water dropped off her leg so she called the hospital to inform them.

they asked her to come over to the hospital, on getting there, they induce her to speed up Labour.

After hours of trying to push no way, over 10 hours my wife already got so weak and tired, my sister called me around 11pm that they want to carry out CS on her.

I was like something they supposed to have done since instead of suffering her.

Around 2am they call me on phone that she needs blood, mind you I was in Enugu while all these was happening.

The hospital don't have any blood bank no ambulance, I started looking for an uber..

to take my sister to General Hospital Isolo to go get blood at that mid night.

I succeeded in getting the blood about 5pts

Around 3am they called me that they want to cut off her womb that she is bleeding, I was shocked because this is her first child she is 28yrs old

I asked them is that only way of her surviving they said is 50-50 just to see if the bleeding will stop.

They ended the call and later called back that I should buy more blood instead let them try something, around 3:30am my sister went to get more blood.

Around 6am Monday morning 29th March I called that I want to speak with her, they said I should wait for 20 mins that they dressing her up to move her to ward.

I kept calling, I called my elder sister she told me she don't understand what they are doing..

that the consultant doctor they hired to carry out the CS has left but the hospital is calling him back to come that there is complications, he came back and open my wife back for the second time, my wife was already tired due to the pains she was passing through..

They started operating her again to correct the errors.

Unfortunately she couldn't make it back, she died, they removed the baby boy though but the baby didn't cry due to prolonged Labour, he drank lots of water and blood.
I rushed down to Enugu Airport and board a flight down to Lagos, getting to the hospital I found my wife lifeless body in one old looking operation room.

I was so heartbroken, they gave me exorbitant bill to pay before I could carry her dead body, over 500k.

Right now I took my son to another hospital, he is under ICU now, we are doing different kinds of scans, test, Xray and co, he is using oxygen at moment.

The bills is excess, I am just hoping he can survive.

I need justice for my wife

  12. I almost died when I had my child 2021. Prolonged labour too. After hours of labour they now decided on CS. Something they should have done before it got to that. I was weak, my b.p was skyrocketing and my baby's heartbeat was faint. God saved me eh. And to think I asked the doctor prior to labor day if my cervix was not too narrow. It turned-out that it was and it alomost cost me my life because I went through double labor. I got to 10 cm and after enduring that excruciating pain I still had to go through the pains of CS. Some doctors can be very very negligent. May God rest her soul and give her husband the fortitude to bear this huge loss.

I really wonder if people ever get justice in this country especially when they lose people due to negligence;if they do,why do these mushroom hospitals still operate?🀦

  14. So sad. And nothing will happen to that hospital. The will move over to the next victim. God intervene in Nigeria

  16. Such a painful loss. Peace to her soul. The consultant doctor should be probed.

  17. This is so sad. Many private clinics in Nigeria do not have the right personnel for some major procedures. Look at this case, they hired a consultant doctor who must have been in a hurry to finish up and leave, and were still charging exorbitantly.

See ehn, people should pray hard in this country, and if you can be patient enough, use General Hospital. They have more experienced personnel there and in case of an emergency, there are lots of resident consultants as well.

I pray God comforts that family and the baby survives. It is well..

  18. The things that happen in this country ehn..? Hmmm.. my good friend lost her baby when she was booked for a CS in one of these private hospitals in Lagos.

The surgeon when opening the womb for the surgery, cut the baby's head by mistake πŸ˜”πŸ˜” . I mean WHO DOES THAT!! can you imagine?? It was so painful. The child lives for some weeks with severe pains before she later gave up. Mtchewww... May God have mercy upon us in this country oh.

    3. This is so horrible! Poor little angel. 😭
There is no accountability. This woman's death should be probed. Many private hospitals have become death traps. People lose their lives to routine procedures such as CS, appendix removal, hernia operation etc

  19. Don't pay a dime! What are you paying for? Instead they should pay you for damages - someone came to them alive and they killed her. Get a lawyer please. It's high time people start suing doctors, some of them are outrightly careless and carefree. They see too much blood, so nothing moves them. Pay that 500k if and only if you are a fool. Use that money to start your legal proceedings.

  20. Chai this is so heartbreaking.

  21. Honestly, I feel there should be a level of standard in terms of equipment, expertise, laboratory etc before a clinic or hospital obtains a licence to operate. Many of the clinics and hospitals around are only after money.
I pray his son makes it.

  25. Go to general hospitals or teaching hospitals, una no go hear. In the simplest operation there ought to be an Anesthesiologists, pharmacists, doctors and nurses. The private hospital had to hire a so called consultant that probably doesn't know his left from his right. Why was there no blood in the hospital, how can people be so careless about the lives of others. I have gone under the knife, there were 5 doctors led by a consultant in theatre , there was 3 pharmacists, 3 Anesthesiologists and several nurses. Abeg l am just pissed. You killed his wife with your negligence and you are demanding for 500,000 , for what exactly

    1. Thank you oh. People think General hospitals is for poor people. But when the chips are down, those exorbitant private clinics will still refer one to General.. General is better. Just that one needs to be very patient. It is well oh.

    3. General hospital that killed my friend's baby?!She had placenta abruption at 38weeks but the negligent Doctor didn't notice, even when she did a scan afterwards and it showed that her baby's weight had dropped. They told her that perhaps she didn't calculate when she had her period last bla bla and she shouldn't worry that her baby was fine.Well she later gave birth at 41weeks and the baby had already started eating her poo.Baby didn't survive.Thank God my friend did. This was in a general hospital o!I gave birth in a private hospital in January. My pregnancy was very smooth.on the day that I was 40weeks exactly,my doctor advised that I be induced, because I complained that I had only felt mild contractions. While I waited for the pill to work,a heart monitor for my child was placed on me.Turned out that her heart rate was fluctuating crazily.Thank God for the vigilant nurses and doctor on duty that night.A CS was immediately recommended.I didn't spend up to 45 mins after induction for this to be noticed. The CS was carried out smoothly and successfully and 4 days after,I was already out of the hospital with my healthy baby.So a lady just needs to pray months before delivery. That was what I did.I prayed for the right nurses and doctors to be around on the day of my delivery and it was so.
I am so grateful to God for a safe delivery .

  27. His sister should have called him to consent to CS before she laboured for that long but we know Nigerians especially fellow women , they would say CS is a curse. This woman's life would have been saved if they had demanded for CS earlier before things got out of hands since the hospital did not have sense. Prolonged labour especially after induction is very dangerous. That hospital should be dragged in the mud and made to close down. Even if it is for a while so that others will learn.
Those of you shouting general hospital, people die in general hospitals too. They get their own for body too, ranging from rude and non-challant nurses, proud doctors and carefree attitude. Na only God dey save person for Nigerian hospitals.

  28. Hmmmmm....so painful. To think that woman carried her baby for good 9months and now this. May God judge those doctors.

  29. Same old story with Nigerian hospitals. They take your money and still kill patients due to gross negligence.

  30. Sad. I was in labour for 18hours after my water broke. Still dilating was just 5mm.we requested for a CS but the doctor insited that i must be induced before the CS. Finally had the baby thru CS.

I could have lost my son too or died in the process but god kept me. These doctors need to very careful during delivery to prevent such from happening.

Please take care of the baby.

  31. Kai, oh God what is this for christ sake.

Pregnant women pls always register in government hospital too not only private. Just incase of issues/Emergencies like this. And husbands pls always try ur best to be around when ur wife it's in labour or almost due. If the husband was around, he would have made alternative decisions and moves fast to save his wife.

How can they operate her twice, God this is so sad.

  35. Private hospitals in Nigeria ought to be properly regulated to avoid such malpractices. Some doctors are incompetent. Don't let fancy building, heavily promoted marketing on website fool you.

Condolences to the bereaved family, I pray that the baby is restored to normal health.

What are this man's rights?, lawyers in the house, please help this man.

    Thank you Stella
