One would expect a deputy governorship a candidate to ascribe quotes to the original authors instead of pretending they made it up themselves. Melania Trump was publicly chastised for plagiarizing parts of a Michelle Obama speech. Little things matter when you aspire to be in a leadership position. All of them just write other people’s thoughts without giving credit to the authors or writing “author unknown” if it’s by an unknown author.
DeleteIndiscipline & disregard to norms permeates all spheres of the Naija way of life. Funke, use quotation signs or cite the author of what you wrote. Disregarding rules is a pattern of behavior unacceptable in most civilized societies.
The original author of Funke’s caption is Roy Bennett. The “focus on character not reputation” author is John Wooden. Leadership means integrity. Stop quoting intellectual work without ascribing it to the authors whose brains came up with it. Nigerian “celebrities” use quotes without giving credit. You won’t like it if someone starts using your work for validation without giving you credit.
