ReplyDeleteIt's one step at a time.
ReplyDelete👌👌👌
DeleteSo true
ReplyDeleteThere’s nothing cool about being needy… Been there, done that. I might be all that comfortable yet but I thank God I’m not where I used to be. I get you bisola. God is good.
ReplyDeleteMay God see u tru.suffering is something I don't wish my enemies....I pray this country get better again...so the common man can boast of 3 square meals a day
ReplyDeleteYou are on point
ReplyDeleteSuffering is not sweet at all but don't go about being successful in the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteLet my prayer be Answered ooo..
ReplyDeleteOnce there's Life, there's hope. Nothing last forever. No condition is permanent 😀
ReplyDeleteNo one is against anybody aspiring to luxury things in life. But abeg - don't manipulate other people to bankroll that lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteThat is what many women do - They manipulate men into giving them money to live a lifestyle they cannot fund themselves. if we are honest with ourselves.
I can relate o...I here now waiting for my friend to bring food for me else na hunger get me today....but I believe it's going to get better... sometimes I have to depend on neighbours, and sometimes I go completely hungry...it is going to get better...that's my believe...
ReplyDeleteNo job?
DeleteNoted
ReplyDeleteLuxury is good but do it at your own expense, leave other people's pocket alone. Be proud of your little wins and strife to be better. Never go about it the wrong way and never covet other people's life. God will forever bless the works of your hands at the right time.
ReplyDeletePls get something no matter how low you think it is to make money to feed. E.g helping people fetch water, wash clothes or do cleaning. Let me know how it goes before giving contacts.
ReplyDeleteMy response is for anon 16:41
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in school , I once got angry at my roommate for spending my money without my permission. Immediately, I was reprimanded in my spirit: would you rather be at the receiving end? I asked God for forgiveness and resolved never to complain about people abusing my generosity.
ReplyDeleteMy philosophy in life is that: whatever I have, God allows me to be in possession of because he knows that I would not withold from the needy. And my daily prayers is that I be a blessing to myself and my sphere of contact.
Suffering is bad. Poverty is horrible for any human being. However, hard work, humility & contentment are virtues that make for a better world. My cleaning lady comes twice a month @$150/visit, cleans about 10 homes like ours a month. She cleans everywhere & everything. She has a home, drives a used SUV in very good condition & owns a home with her husband, also a cleaner.
ReplyDeleteI see many naijas who do CNA work with that work ethic here. My question is for those who think certain things are “beneath” them. Have you tried to do any morally upright work? Do you think some jobs are beneath you & are waiting on friends & relations all the time? I have a sister just a few years younger than me that is so entitled & used to handouts for over 30 years. She goes to false prophets to “pray”/jazz instead of being contented after decades of others helping her. No gratitude. Helpers are older & cannot give as much but no empathy or gratitude for past help. Entitlement syndrome. If that’s your mentality even if you come here you will be on welfare & be poor in old age as you will have no retirement income! To employers of domestic help in Naija who verbally, psychologically and sometimes physically abuse them, 🛑✋STOP! A lot of the jobs here are in the small businesses, domestic help, health care low income sector BUT we do not look down on ANYONE. It’s only at Naija get togethers that some look down on others but it’s their headache. Summary, wash cars in parking lots and most people will (I hope) gladly pay N1000 if they see their washed car on returning to a parking lot.
On a different note, I’m grateful that I can afford whatever I want but I don’t know where this three square meals thing came from but most wealthy people I know, of all ethnicities eat light breakfast, lunch & dinner, or brunch & dinner. There is nothing square about a cereal bowl or oatmeal. Eating all the bokoto, roundabout, ponmo etc is not good for your health & many wealthy people’s money becomes a snare for them especially those that do not help the poor. Remember there is dignity in labor. Do not commercialize your body or sell your soul. Find out areas of need in affluent neighborhoods & the generous ones there while you attend school or take online certifications to improve your tomorrow. To those fortunate ones, remember “blessed is he that considers the poor, the lord will remember you in the day of trouble”. Help people but don’t enable dependence. Sow seeds of mercy for your descendants. God remembers.
May we all get our heart desires. Amen
