ReplyDeleteYour story about your school proprietress reminds me of our boss in a school where I worked as a teacher here in Ibadan. The man was a Pastor and had a ministry.
So one time, he now told all the staff that he wants to shoot a music video for one of his gospel songs. He said we should all be present, wearing our ankara that we used for the previous year's Christmas party. We would gather in the school that Saturday morning, a bus will take us to a location outside Ibadan for the shoot. We would do it for free as a form of support for him.
Me I did not go o🤣🤣
I was very broke and unhappy as he was owing us the previous month's salary. I wanted to go and hustle for money that Saturday.
The following Monday, he gave those of us that did not come one week suspension without pay. We did not even send him. Till I left the school, we did not get along well because of that incident.
I forgot to add that his wife, a young woman like me, also worked as a teacher in the school, the staff called her 'mummy' but me I called her Mrs lagbaja or ma'am. She did not like me at all 🤣.

DeleteYorubas are fond of that. The female boss is addressed as "mummy" while the male one is "daddy". That woman's own was double "mummy" as she doubled as "mummy G.O" in her husband's ministry too.
