He said the bus developed a mechanical fault on rail track, and said that the crash was not his fault.
According to Vanguard, he was overheard narrating to some of his relatives who were waiting for him there.
He said
He said
“It was not my fault. How could I have ignored warning signs? The bus had a mechanical fault. It is a pity this has happened. I beg everyone affected to please forgive me in the name of God,”
But contrary to his claim, the 44-year-old driver who is detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Yaba allegedly had his earpiece on while driving and ignored the directive of the flag officers at the rail line.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Railway Command CP Yetunde Longe, said she she ordered that the driver be subjected to a medical test which included psychological and drug tests.

You are a big liar. You were in a hurry to cross. You didn't wait for the train to pass. You moved and got stucked on the train racks.
ReplyDeleteYou are an inpatient driver. Drivers like you plenty for Lagos.
Exactly, that is what happened. Its very unfortunate that innocent people has to pay for his foolishness. No hurry in life.
DeleteGOD have mercy on us!!! I will be more careful and patient while Driving. this life na one abeg, most people who join me for the first time are frightened that I drive too fast. Abeg o na jeje going forward biko
DeleteSisi Nene,
DeleteFast, and reckless are two different things. Hope you are not in the latter chart.
Ignoring traffic signs, laws and regulations are what a lot of Nigerian road users are guilty of. Yet, they are quick to shout good governance!
May God please order our steps continually.
ReplyDeleteIn an interview, some of the passengers mentioned that they told the driver to hold on for the train to pass but he deliberately ignored them. He is a murderer plain and simple and should be forced to face Justice.
ReplyDeleteSome level of juju to indirectly sacrifice lives for wealth. This days, some of them purposely get involved in accidents that will claim lives instantly or later. Let’s be watchful and careful
DeleteAnon 12:19 you are spiritually sensitive. Won ti fi won da ajo. In this dispensation, people please pray o. Look at Bamise too, is it not a BRT bus that was involved in her death. It is well o.
DeleteWicked driver
ReplyDeleteThis man has lied... He wanted to do 'Fast &Furious ' driving.... Lagos way.
ReplyDeleteMay God continue to protect us... Amen
Nawaooo I hope and pray he charged for murder...
ReplyDeleteIt shall never be well with this driver, may God punish him in abundance for every life that has lost thru his recklessness.
ReplyDeleteYou are heading straight to hell for this lies! After killing innocent people! Very sad! May the Lord comfort the families they left behind and grant quick recovery to the survivors
ReplyDeleteThe annoying thing is that these reckless and wicked drivers don't die, they end up killing and injuring other people.
ReplyDeleteThose day in Lagos, there was this train driver that anytime he comes out, he must kill someone. It was just too much that they ended up labelling him an occultic man.
The trains have a fixed route. Those people need to look at things objectively before labeling the driver.
DeleteThis is very annoying. Only his account is different.
ReplyDeleteThis one is just telling stories, someone that should be facing manslaughter charges already. I hope pple dnt start pleading on his behalf since he has apologize or claim it's not his fault. We all have to be held responsible for our actions.
ReplyDeleteYour bus developed a mechanical fault on the rail track? Why didn't you ask all the passengers to come down first and walk to the other side while you fixed the bus, considering how dangerous the position of your bus was? And you didn't die but you ended up killing other people. You suppose go jail.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame him one bit. Spewing rubbish because his life was spared
ReplyDeleteBloody murder...As a driver are you suppose to put on your ear piece....useless man
DeleteThey should forgive you for your reckless driving and disobeying the traffic rules? He should be charged for manslaughter so that others like him will learn.
ReplyDeleteJust see defence!
ReplyDeleteHe just wasted these people's lives for nothing.
That's the lie this idiot murderer wants to tell himself. unfortunately he will end up believing his own lie and never truly be sorry for his error in judgment that caused so many people to lose their lives.
ReplyDeleteWhen will drivers learn that you cannot outrun a train. Wait! Everybody would prefer to be late than dead or injured. The families of the dead and those who are injured should file a class action lawsuit against the company and driver. Accidents happen, but this ain't no damn accident.
ReplyDeleteThey need to install cameras inside these buses…it will keep them on check. May God accept the dead souls
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm reading here is very unfortunate
