Bus Driver Who Caused Fatal Rail Crash Explains What Happened....

Oluwaseun Osinbajo the driver of the Lagos State staff bus crushed by a train at the PWD/Shogunle railway line, on Agege Motor Road, Lagos, has revealed the reason behind the Thursday collision which claimed six lives and injured about 84 others.

He said the bus developed a mechanical fault on rail track, and said that the crash was not his fault.
According to Vanguard, he was overheard narrating to some of his relatives who were waiting for him there.
He said
“It was not my fault. How could I have ignored warning signs? The bus had a mechanical fault. It is a pity this has happened. I beg everyone affected to please forgive me in the name of God,”

But contrary to his claim, the 44-year-old driver who is detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Yaba allegedly had his earpiece on while driving and ignored the directive of the flag officers at the rail line.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Railway Command CP Yetunde Longe, said she she ordered that the driver be subjected to a medical test which included psychological and drug tests.

    3. Sisi Nene,

Fast, and reckless are two different things. Hope you are not in the latter chart.

Ignoring traffic signs, laws and regulations are what a lot of Nigerian road users are guilty of. Yet, they are quick to shout good governance!

  3. In an interview, some of the passengers mentioned that they told the driver to hold on for the train to pass but he deliberately ignored them. He is a murderer plain and simple and should be forced to face Justice.

  8. The annoying thing is that these reckless and wicked drivers don't die, they end up killing and injuring other people.

Those day in Lagos, there was this train driver that anytime he comes out, he must kill someone. It was just too much that they ended up labelling him an occultic man.

    1. The trains have a fixed route. Those people need to look at things objectively before labeling the driver.

  11. Your bus developed a mechanical fault on the rail track? Why didn't you ask all the passengers to come down first and walk to the other side while you fixed the bus, considering how dangerous the position of your bus was? And you didn't die but you ended up killing other people. You suppose go jail.

  15. That's the lie this idiot murderer wants to tell himself. unfortunately he will end up believing his own lie and never truly be sorry for his error in judgment that caused so many people to lose their lives.

  16. When will drivers learn that you cannot outrun a train. Wait! Everybody would prefer to be late than dead or injured. The families of the dead and those who are injured should file a class action lawsuit against the company and driver. Accidents happen, but this ain't no damn accident.

  17. They need to install cameras inside these buses…it will keep them on check. May God accept the dead souls
