Veteran Journalist Reuben Abati's Hilarious Piece On Rituals During Nigeria's 2023 Elections

I found this piece somewhat funny...

Did you know that some Animals lost their lives at the just concluded elections in Nigeria?

''But the part of the elections of March 18 that I found even more curious was the spiritual side of it. In Lagos, spirituality and occultism were thrown into the mix. How widespread this was may not be easy to establish but at least we can quote a few examples. In Lagos, there is a video in circulation showing some Lagos Chiefs at a shrine called “Oju Alale”, literally the shrine for the worship of the founders of the community, raining curses on Igbos in Lagos and praying for the incumbent Governor’s victory in the election.

On election day, some cultists dressed in complete secret society habiliments were seen in Ikeja shouting “Agan o, Agan o” and warning non-indigenes not to vote foolishly. In Oyo state, members of a syncretic church were also shown raining incantations on a small ram and praying that Senator Teslim Folarin must win the Oyo State Gubernatorial election. Folarin did not win.

I believe the remains of that ram ended up in the bellies of the Pastors. Only God knows how many animals lost their lives at ritual conclaves because Nigeria held an election in 2023.''

Terible INEC, Terible government, Terible Political Parties, Terible ignorant youths who don't even know that they are more powerful than the people vying for positions, stealing away their precious destinies

    1. It is because the typical Nigerian is a terrible person or Nigerians are majorly terrible as a people. Of course, there are exceptions but they are clearly in the minority.

      No vex o.

I am a Nigerian. I have lived in Nigeria all my life.

  3. I gather all the curses /negative pronouncements against the Igbos and return them back to the sender in multiple folds in Jesus name Amen 🔥. For the bible says, no enchantment against us, no divination against us!

    2. The prayer is not even necessary, they are the ones going about shops of the Igbos begging for alms every time, while most of their sons and daughters are sales girls and boys. Their laziness and jealousy won't allow them breath.

    3. Anon 12:34 and her ilk need to stop calling a whole ethnic group “lazy”! Enough of the tantrums because the least qualified candidate lost in Lagos. Since he is a lagosian why are some so bitter he lost if not their language connectionn? We voted PO during presidential in Lagos! This is nothing but entitlement! Abusing all Yorubas as lazy? Only yorubas are beggars or all yorubas are begging from your ethnicity? It is uncalled for. This is not the first election in Nigeria and ALL 3 parties rigged to different extents. Saints did not come marching in to form LP from heaven. They were ALL in PDP or APC until 11 months ago! He lost Lagos Gov because many PO voters didn’t see him as more or even equally competent as the person he is trying to replace. Fela sang about election malpractice over forty years ago so let’s not start a tribal war that only arms dealers in the western countries benefit from. There is no statistical backing to the myth that one ethnicity has more money than the other, it’s like assuming the flashy GOs have more money than Adeboye just because he doesn’t throw his weight around. The richest people on earth are not necessarily traders or importers of goods from other nations, they are manufacturers in the formal sector! Let the tantrums and generalized insults stop! You don’t know the aggregate bank accounts of each ethnic group!

    1. I saw video of a mad man eating the goat head pepper soup they dropped at one corner with relish. Those things are not potent, they would have allowed the election to happen normally without using force on people so that we can calculate how far

    2. 11:20,
Sad that he would have won even if by a slim margin. But he allowed them to taint his victory. Now, he has found his voice after keeping quiet during the acts. Pity.

  5. I saw video of the delta APC gubernatorial candidate, dancing "Igbe" at an Igbe shrine. I never knew people still practice Igbe . Even with that he still didn't win.
