The singer, his lawyer and a family representative turned up at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters, according to reports.

Meanwhile human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, on Sunday, said Seun Kuti had sought his legal services following the singer’s assault on a Police Officer.

A video of the singer assaulting a Police Officer on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State had emerged on Saturday May 13, 2023 went viral and the IGP immediately ordered for his arrest
Falana, who confirmed the legal services development, also insisted that Seun Kuti has enough evidence to defend himself.

  1. There is no evidence to defend himself. Did he assault the policeman or not? He had no right to put his hands on the man. He could have expressed himself without resorting to violence.

  2. Are those handcuffs or bangles? I don't get it. He turned himself in, right? Why is he in handcuffs?

  3. I don't feel pity for the police officer, let him feel what ordinary civillians go through from them unprovoked.

  6. I think I get where Falana is coming from. It's tricky legally since the policeman was driving drunk Ave would most likely lose his license and job if Seun's team have to sue him. The police should also be dragged into that case but they are likely to get off with a slap on the wrist. Both of the sides will have to talk but because there's a viral video, the police won't want to be seen to be soft on this kind of conduct from a civilian. I feel for the policeman as it's easy for the police to sacrifice him to even a score but it would be a tragedy for him and his family.
