AMEBO CHRONICLES - Prepaid Meter Wahala

Every new innovative technology has its own pros and cons, so the earlier one gets used to it the better for them. Pre-paid meter is the best thing that can ever happen to you especially when you think about the crazy monthly electricity bills and of course the crazy neighbors.

Landlord paid for meters but it was delivered separately, the last person was disconnected from the others and so he enjoyed the direct light without paying for several months. Little did he know that the bills were accumulating .

Officials came to knock and they explained to him that although the meter has not been installed, the bills are piling up so he should use the new account number to pay part of it. Brother blew up and started insulting them so they came in and removed his light from the direct connection. But you have been using the light now?

Brother called Landlord and blamed him for not pushing for the meter on time and they traded hurtful words on the phone. Landlord says he will call the Electric company to bring the meter, Brother says he won’t use it and the both of them hung up on each other.

Turns out the meter was already on its way because the officials came to fix it days later. Brother collected the device from them and slammed the door in their faces. He didn’t use it.

For weeks now he has been using his generator even though the light has been constant. Now his water has finished and Brother is still being stubborn. LOL

Pay for light you used –NO
Pay the person pumping water with her units – NO
Activate prepaid meter and top up so they will be removing your debt– NO

Instead he prefers to buy fuel everyday inside his generator, puts it on all night and he thinks he is smart. Sigh

This one off me totally.

  5. Depends on if he is single, works most times and so isn't always at home. If so then he is better off without NEPA. He can just pay money for the water and use a small gen all through the night.

  6. It's when you are into managing property that you will encounter all sorts of individuals. Funny that he could have agreed with them that half of any recharge goes to the outstanding bills, that way, he won't really feel it.
