QUESTION FROM MONDAY SPONTANEOUS POST

My wedding is next Friday. Please brides and married women, is it compulsory we travel immediately after the wedding? If yes, how did you do it? He's insisting that we travel after the party and I am trying to consider the stress.
He says we have to sleep over in his parents house to start another round of celebration.
I am trying to consider the stress of travelling after my party just to start another party that same night.
My fellow women, please how can I go about it?

The family you are marrying into needs to welcome you same day..Preparations will be made..Please just try, it may not be as stressful as you think

FROM THE COMMENT SECTION

I asked for a separation, since husband wasn't ready to sign the divorce not accept the brideprice back. We have been separated for over 16years, my last baby is in varsity, two gradauted. They live with me but husband still pays their fees and upkeep.

Technically, we are still married on paper, but no contact. He remarried but the lady somehow got to know we ain't divorced properly, she too moved out, there's another woman currently with him, that one barred my kids from coming to visit. I told them to avoid that house if they want to live long, that woman may harm them...

It's 5years today they last saw their dad. He has been in touch lately to speak with the children as they kukuma blocked him. They are adults already, and free to take decisions. I'm not not ready to be a mediator. Once my baby goes for nysc, we moving interstate.

Ihe wants mend the relationship, encourage them to embrace the Olive branch... You may not know it but your kids need to find closure on his behaviour

FROM THE COMMENTS SECTION

What do you do to a fellow tenant who pretends to be cool with you but calling the landlord secretly and heaping lies on your head, telling him to evict you from the house. Landlord, being a God fearing person refused, he told her that he has not heard any complaint about us from any other tenant since we moved in. He now called us and told us everything, warned us to be careful with her.
Should we confront her or pretend like we didn't hear anything and just keep her at arm's length?

No need to comfront her at all...Just keep her at a distance....

FROM SATURDAY CHRONICLE POSTER

''Good morning SDK. Thanks for posting my story on Saturday chronicle. I learnt a LOT. The school is aware of my predicament, that I need an extra hand but turned deaf ears to it. A raise in my pay without an extra hand won't change much as I'll still be overworked. I will keep pushing it till July when they will go to a new class.
Now I'm looking towards going for a training in special needs kids in order to boost my CV and pay. Also, teaching that child makes me know that we need more trained hands in this area. I will make findings and save towards it.
Thanks to all who commented. I'm very grateful''.

Well done..Shout out to all teachers, you guys rock!

AN EYE OPENER STORY

''One day a Son goes to his Father and says, Father what is the value of my Life? And the Father gives him a stone and says; Son, If you want to know the value of your Life take this stone and go to the market and if anyone asks the price don't say a word and raise up two fingers. So the Boy does as his Father says and goes to the market.

He wanders around and suddenly an old woman approaches him and says. How much is this stone?

The Boy doesn't say a word just raises up two fingers and the old woman says: Two dollars? I'll take it!The Boy is surprised and runs back to his Father and says Father there was an old woman at the market who wanted to give me two dollars for the stone the Father says: Son; the next place I want you to go is the museum and if anyone asks the price, don't say a word and raise up two fingers. So the Son takes the stone and goes to the museum after about twenty minutes there is a middle aged Man who approach the Boy; He says ; Sir, How much is the stonr? The Boy doesn't say a word and raise up two fingers and the man says 200 dollars? I'll take it!

The Boy is surprised and runs home to his Father. Father! Father! A man in the Museum wanted to buy the stone for 200 dollars okay Son the last place I want you to take the stone is a precious stone store walk inside with the stone and if anyone asks the price don't say a word just raise up two fingers.
So the Son runs off to the precious stone store.

After finding it, He walks inside and there is an old man at the counter and as the old Man sees the stone he jumps up and screams.
Oh my God you have the stone I have been looking for my whole life! What do you want for it, how much is it?The Boy doesn't say a word and raises up two fingers and then the man says 200,000 dollars?I'll take it!
The Boy can't believe it, He jumps up and runs to his Father and said, Father! Father! The old man in the precious stone store wanted to give me 200,000 dollars for the stone.  And his Father said:
You see Son, do you understand now the value of your Life?

Life is all about where you place yourself you can decide if you want to be a two-dollar stone or a 200,000 dollars stone.

There are some people who love you and for whom you are everything and some people will just use you as a commodity and for them you will be worth nothing.
So it is up to you my Son to decide the value of your Life.

  1. I honestly pray that a lot of Nigerians will normalize praising someone, without making others look bad.
Let me explain. What Hilda Baci has done, is truly amazing and she deserves all the support she's getting.
However, it's wrong to use Hilda's achievement, to belittle other women. Hilda is very beautiful and an amazing cook. But she's got her weaknesses. There are other women who do not like to cook or go near the kitchen, but they have their own strengths as well. It doesn't make them any lesser than Hilda. We are all strong in some aspects, and weak in others. No one has it all.
So while we celebrate this Amazon for putting Nigeria on the map, let's be careful not to throw others under the bus. Everyone is unique!
Congrats once again Hilda. You rock!❤️

    1. 😤 I saw all the 'belittling' as cruise and clout chasing. After everything Nigerian men have said about and dragged Nigerian women, I doubt anyone of us take them serious anymore. If as a woman, especially a young unmarried Nigerian woman, you still take Nigerian men's 'dragging'/belittling to heart, my sister you still have a long way to go. Infact, you need urgent help.
Abeg, dem no reach! Die that matter.

    6. Only you saw where they were belittling other women and us now using that assume everywhere on social media is like that. My timeline is filled with women and men alike praising her. She has done a very great thing and people acknowledge that.

What a wonderful story that explains the concept of self worth.

I don't see Ali B as a woman pleaser but someone sympathetic to the plight of women. There is a difference. 🧐
I am happy for Hilda Baci and her feat. But more so for the Nigerian spirit that showed in the people from all works of life who supported and cheered her on. I am reminded of the Dream Team, when Naija football was a wow... 😊

However Ali B is right. There are still the few who will try to spoil a good thing. I started seeing memes using Hilda's feat to compare and denigrate women. How sad. We are all not the same and we cannot all be Hilda. She is unique and has her strength and weaknesses as does everyone else. So let's be guided in not trying to spoil a good thing.

    1. Afternoon darling Adaoluchi

      About to wed lady
Listen to your man and follow his lead. Allow him make it as memorable as possible.
Also, try not to be directly involved in the preparation. That way you won't be too tired. Moreover, I think the adrenaline with the occasion will keep you going.

Also try not to keep a moody face or complaining during the travels (honeymoon nah once. Make it worthwhile for you both).
Just so you know, not all men take their brides for honeymoon. So he that wants to, encourage him.
      Marriage is about shifting grounds.

The tenant woman. No need to confront her. The landlord expects you to be mature about it. Just completely cut her off and allow only greetings

      Delete
    2. Oh I just read the about to wed... again. My darling, every tribe have their unique cultures in wedding. Presuming you will be tired or you eventually become tired is not enough reason for the culture to be changed for you; especially since your man wants to follow through.
Also, you sure don't want to start on a bad note with your in-laws (most are unforgiving)

Keep trusted people or wedding planner in charge of your event so you won't be too directly involved. So as not to be tired

  19. 20 things to know about Hilda Baci and her Guinness World Record Marathon Cooking

    1. Her real name is Hilda Bassey Effiong. She is a young Nigerian chef from Nsit Ubium LGA in Akwa Ibom State, She owns a food brand in Lagos called "My Food by Hilda"

    2. She will be cooking for 4 days non-stop.

    3. She must stand to cook, she is not permitted to sit while cooking.

    4. She’s not allowed to take coffee, stimulants, or any energy drink to artificially boost her energy and bodily strength while cooking.

    5. She's allowed to eat food, drink water or fruit juice, and take glucose.

    6. The cooking is taking place at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria.

    7. She cooks round the clock, no sleep (Morning, afternoon, evening, and night. So, for 4 nights, she won't sleep)

    8. She has just 5 minutes rest per hour [meaning for every 1 hour, she is entitled to just 5 minutes rest or break, that's an hour break in every 12 hours].

    Other sources claim
She gets a 30-minute break every 6 hours, she spends the 30mins in a medical van which is just close by, within which she can nap, use the restroom, and also get a medical assessment or checkup by the medical team available on the spot.

    9. Whatever she cooks is shared to the people at the venue for FREE. She is not selling the food.

    10. She cooks different meals simultaneously. She is at liberty to cook any meal she likes. There are no restrictions as to what she can cook or not cook. The World Record title is about cooking within a time frame, not about what is cooked. As long as she is cooking, she is on track.

    11. Every meal cooked and every plate served is recorded. She has cooked over 115 meals so far with almost 3,000 portions if not more by the time you are reading this.

    12. She started the cooking on Thursday and is expected to complete the target time frame by Monday 15th May, 2023 evening.

    13. The current holder of the title Hilda seeks to break is an Indian chef Lata Tandon, who set a Guinness World Record for cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes non-stop in 2019.

    14. To break the record, Hilda Baci is attempting to cook for 96 hours, using extra 9 hours to break the world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking a marathon.

    15. She tagged the cooking project "Cook-a-thon", a phrase literally coined from the word "marathon"

    16. She appears exhausted already, but the people around her are cheering her on to boost her morale. And they are available with her as she cook 247, even at night.

    17. Most of the food items, ingredients, utensils, etc she used for this project are provided by her sponsors. So, the money expended on this project is not 100% from Hilda or her Food brand.

    18. Uber, one of her partners is offering a 40% discounted ride to the venue for people who wishes to join and cheer her up at the venue.

    19. Hilda's mum is also a chef. She owns a food brand called "Calabar Pot"

    20. She is 27 years of age.

  39. Stella, any woman who marries a man who gets angry easily, insults her and her family hasn't married yet oh. Worst of it are those men who block you from his social media pages like WhatsApp,Facebook and calls after any little misunderstanding, they have stint of mental illness .Its such pettiness to block ur wife everywhere at any slight provocation. The abuse nko? Slaps and kicks here and there, the man need to go to psychiatrist hospital for mental evaluation.
I was married to one for 5yrs.I ran with my two kids and relocated abroad. The worst marriage any woman can be in.The man nearly turned me to a mad woman bcos I was always quarreling and fighting back.
Two years ago,I heard he remarried less than one year I ran away. Can u believe the second wife ran after 7 months of marrying that dem@n? She couldn't endure his madness . Everything he did to me,he did to her too..I heard they even fight in public bcos my ex husband has no shame at all.
Last year,he married a Northern woman from Plateau hoping that one will stay as a northerner that she is.Heard she has ran away from his house recently and went back to her state. He is now looking like a shadow of himself.I pray he stays alone and don't bring another woman into his life to frustrate her..Three marriages and none could stay..Some men are not husbands material and should have no business with marriage but they won't listen.Na these type of men like marriage pass food bcos they want to stay with a woman who will be cooking, washing and doing everything for them because they can't do anything for themselves.

My ex boyfriend was constantly blocking me on Facebook WhatsApp and Telegram after any misunderstanding and I will beg him thinking it's normal till I found out he has mental problem He broke a taxi man's head in my presense one day for scratching his car.i made up my mind to walk away from that relationship..I pity any woman who will be unfortunate to marry him.

    4. Mine will insult me and my family anytime we have issues..He constantly insults my late father and I wonder what my family did to him.Cant we have issues and quarrel without insulting families? He is also in the habit of blocking me on WhatsApp too. Many are truly mad but few are roaming..I won't leave him though but when I am done with him,he will leave the house and run.We built the house together with out sweat..I am not leaving for any woman to come and reap..Last last I fit poison am and claim the mansion after his death..Our kids would be fine without him.

  43. Hello SDK and bvs😁
Bride, pls don't let this cause issues in your relationship, leave the reception early so that you can quickly travel down to the other side before dark. Also, eat and don't stress too much at the wedding. You will be fine. I wish you a successful ceremony

That story about value is the truth

Special needs teacher, I pray that God grants you success in this step you want to take. It's a good step.

Pretending and evil neighbour, pls be wary of her. She is dangerous. Now that they did not evict you, she may go diabolical on you, be prayerful.

  45. Good afternoon my blog people. How are you all?
It's a beautiful day here, looks like it's going to rain again but I'm loving it.
I'm happy about the great performance of Hilda Baci, at least to douse the tension of the incessant deaths of celebrities over the weekend.
I pray more youths bring us glory and not shame.
The unwell youths that went digging for her bikini pictures to use and shame her on Facebook are totally shameless. A fellow youth is breaking records, they are trying to bring her down.
    I basically can't deal.

  46. I quiet agree with you on the woman with the separation issue stella..she can try and mend the relationship between them and their father as long as he wasn't wicked to them

  47. Different strokes. I'm still angry with my in-law for not having a welcome party for me after wedding. For them organising a party to welcome you, shows they are happy to receive you. Enjoy the party and be at your best behaviour, they did it for you

  48. Good afternoon everyone
    Thank God today
Stella you are right time for everything
Yesterday I couldn't go to church, one man
Kicked the bucket yesterday near my place the terrible thing is that he finished selling around 10 pm with his wife and children, two men came to buy drinks called out on him where he was sitting and relaxing. This Man has already gone without the family knowing, they thought he was relaxing as usual.
Time for everything, the time for death without sign is the worst of it
    Enjoy life, no time

  49. The divorced mum, pls encourage your kids to forgive their dad and stat talking to him. Since he has bee performing his duties to them, let them not cut him off. May God keep them for you.
New bride to-be, people have said it all. Bear with your man and his people.

Bv with the snake for a neighbour, just be careful in relating with her. Don't confront her, don't collect anything from her. She is evil. Give her a long space but keep greeting her.

  51. At bride to be, I got married in December. After reception, we went to hubby's parents house in the evening(same town in our case for prayers into the family and water pouring on feet yoruba thing), before we left for our hotel.
Pls relax about it and just see it as part of the ceremony. I wasn't as tired as I thought I'd be, but I had even started yawning there sef lol

  52. Stella your memo is thought provoking.
A time to be born, a time to die
A time laugh, a time to cry

    Life!

I'm just here thinking of how life after death looks like, if there is anything like that.
Let's live well till it's our time to go. Sighs.

  54. Pinky no story today
Bride to be, plan with your hubby and leave the reception earlier and travel so that you will get to your in-laws on time and sleep on time for the next day's activities.
Cooperate with your man, it is normal.
