  2. Get Filled With The Spirit!!
    Acts 4:31-33

    Excerpts!!

"The Bible charges us, “...be not drunk with wine wherein is excess; but be filled with the spirit." The International Standard Version says, “Keep on being filled with the Spirit,” speaking to yourself in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:18-20"

"When you’re filled with the Spirit, you’re not timid or intimidated; you preach the Gospel with boldness and power."

"Perhaps you’ve been desiring to preach the Gospel to the people you work with, but it seems you’ve been shy or afraid. Get filled with the Holy Spirit! Pray in tongues until you’re supercharged—speaking to yourself in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."

    Prayer!!

I'm an effective witness and custodian of the Gospel - God's saving power that unveils His righteousness, eternal life, and divine destiny for all mankind. I'm His light in a dark world, called to bring men out of sin and bondage into righteousness and the glorious liberty of the sons of God. I'm fulfilling my calling. Amen.

  4. BE JOYFUL!

That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.' Psalm 90:14 NIV

It doesn't help Jesus' cause when his followers go around looking miserable. You say, 'But I have problems.' Everybody does. When the apostle Paul was in prison, he wrote, 'Rejoice in the Lord always' (Philippians 4:4 NIV). Expressing joy is something you do in spite of your circumstances, not because of them.

The Bible says, 'With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation' (Isaiah 12:3 NIV). God has put a well of joy within you, but you have to draw it out and share it. Joy is contagious. Happiness travels through relational networks like ripples on a pond. It's so robust, in fact, that it can permeate three degrees of separation. That means your happiness quotient is more likely to increase when a friend of a friend of a friend becomes happy. We hunger for joy. 'Satisfy us in the morning,' writes the psalmist - but not with more money or power or applause. No, 'Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days' (Psalm 90:14 NIV). Joyful people make others come alive.

The Bible says, 'The joy of the Lord is your strength' (Nehemiah 8:10 NIV). We love joy, but often we forget how powerful it is. Joy gives us the strength to resist temptation. It gives us the ability to persevere. It's the velcro that makes relationships stick. It gives us the energy to love. We don't just need air, food and water; we need joy. And the person who brings it is like an oasis in a desert land. So today, be joyful.

  15. I saw a memo from Aminu Kano teaching hospital on use of generator due to hike in fuel price. The memo said the hospital wish to inform the management, staff and entire community of the hospital that incase of power outage. The hospital is constrained not to power generator from 2pm to 6pm daily.
Imagine if there is a patient who need emergency operation between these hours. You can only know the beginning of a thing but say the end. Nigeria and Nigerians deserve better.

    3. Zaram Aminu Kano is an entire community. With houses, restaurant and everything u can think of that makes a community. Staff live there and the gen was used daily from 2-6pm whenever there is power outage.
The memo doesn’t mean that gen would no longer be used in their medical services, it means the quarters and other non medical side of the hosp wud no longer enjoy that privilege.
Do u know how big AKTH is? Do u know how many people would die when they turn off their gen? Do u know how many people are patients of ICU alone? Not even talking of the babies in nicu.
Pls sometimes it is not everything you read on social media that you would push further, read it and digest it first and see if it makes sense to you before pushing the narrative or better still, ask people from that zone to explain to u the situation on ground before you further push it on SM.

      I come in peace.

  23. Good morning people of this blog.

Ejor tori Olorun, what was all that comment on yesterday's chronicle? I read it this morning and I'm giving bvs side eyes bcos...

I've never been informed about a close friend's wedding less than wo months before the date of the wedding. In most cases na we dey follow select date sef bcos we are in it together.
My cousin is getting married this saturday, I got to know about two weeks ago when her brother posted the invite on his status, she called last week to tell me, her mum also called me on saturday. I have sent her my small gift bcos there's no way I'll inconvenience myself at such short notice. Does that mean I'm jealous? No,I'm simply returning the energy!!!

As a close friend/family, you are not supposed to be invited sef. You will be carried along from day one. Which one is inviting me two weeks before wedding? As an after thought that I am or what?
Dear chronicle poster, if it's not financially(and otherwise)convenient for you pls stay in your house, send them your widow's mite and keep it moving bcos I dont see this una "friendship" continuing after now and it will pain you very well if you force yourself to attend and get cut off later on.

    1. I doubt people actually practice real friendship. A real friend will never tell u about her wedding just a few weeks before the wedding. The moment we chose a date, all those I considered friends knew immediately and this was like almost a year to the wedding

      Delete
    2. Miss Aboki most people answered based on their prerogative. And jealousy part came from when she mentioned bad belle.

Preparing for a wedding can be overwhelming. Like blackberry said what if they chose the date and immediately informed her.

To me, I don't see it as a big deal to affect their friendship just honour the invitation. I think we overthink things sometimes

      Delete
    3. πŸ‘Totally agree with you.The friendship is shaking.

    4. It's a big deal Phoenix. Before the main wedding date, there are mostly "tentative dates" that gets changed overtime. Your main friends know these dates even. So me I think the friendship is mostly one sided, or they both view friendship differently. And that won't work for me. We gats dey the same page.
I can tell all my main friends my EDD, what's wedding date?? Some people are too somehow abeg.

      Delete
    5. I've attended my friend's wedding which I was informed 2 weeks to the wedding because that was the time the date was chosen. I'm part of the ones she considered close friends as she didn't invite so many people. No aso ebi like the poster's friend just color code as well. Who knows when the date was chosen? All me I want to know is that the poster should tell us if the said friend has been sending out. invites since and she decided to inform her 2 weeks prior.

Here I am that I invited my 'close friend' to my own wedding 3 months to the D-day and na excuse I chop later. Just know your friends jare, lobatan

He hasn't called me since then only for me to wake up to WhatsApp messages of me forgetting to check on him and that he has forgotten about me, its just this morning he remembered me.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Go after the ones you can. My late father was owed up to the tune of 14m. My siblings weren't interested. I use police and follow them up, the started paying in bits. I realised 8m total. That's when my siblings wanted a cut. I told them to go chase the remaining 6m which they did, I know they got some and still not relenting until it's complete. So if you can, start by calling them one by one, involve police. Don't let them get away. But if you sense diabolism, abort mission. My dad debtors were mostly women, strange.

      Delete
    2. what are you waiting for? Call them one by one and tell them to pay up. How can you keep owing the dead? Some people nor get conscience at all.
      Abeg drag them.

      Sluttychic.

    3. Wow this one is tough. Is there any instruction to go after them? Maybe have a discussion with your siblings to come up with a strategic approach to get the money

    4. Go ask for her money. Just tell them your mom told you on her death bed that if after such time elapse (calculate her death time to date) they don't come to settle what they owe, without being asked, they should know that she is disappointed with them from beyond. Trust me they will pay up fast

      Delete
    5. If you can get your mum's statement of account to check the inflow and outflow of money to confirm if they have paid back or not, because it could be possible some paid back but she didn't cancel it out.
The statement is just to be sure before they start looking at you somehow.
If the statement shows they are owing, ask them.

    6. Some people sef don't have conscience. We called my dad's debtors. Most just came to pay by themselves without us calling them, when they heard the news of my dad's death.

    7. It's your mom's sweat, please go after it unless you sense diabolism like 8:52 said, then abort mission and take it to God in prayers. My mom had some money in her office corporative, they wanted to keep mum about it, thank God my sister saw her card while cleaning her room, na so she storm the office o, I was far away but I kept encouraging her and giving her advices, I was ready to give her some lawyers contact, thank God they later released the money to her.

They laboured for that money my dear, don't let any greedy person take their sweat like that especially if you and your siblings need it.
      Good luck love.

  40. Reno Omokri speaks up on opposition gone wrong

If a united opposition could not defeat the APC's rigging machinery in 2019, how could a divided opposition do so in 2023? This is what I privately told Obi and publicly explained to Obidients. It is just common sense.

Obidients work themselves up to an emotional state and insult everybody without even trying to comprehend where people are coming from. Elections ate like war. You don't do what you want to do. You do what you have to do to win.

I privately explained to Peter Obi that a particular former Senator and I were working behind the scenes to ensure we presented the same Atiku/Obi ticket of 2019. If the Peoples Democratic Party had presented that ticket, Wike would not have had the moral authority to maintain his stance with the G-5, so he would not have openly worked against us, and no amount of rigging would have stopped our victory. We did not collect money from Obi. In fact, we spent our own money. He is alive.

Sadly, while we were still working on our plans, boom, from nowhere, we saw on TV that Obi had left the PDP. Three days later, we also saw on TV that he had joined the Labour Party. The day Tinubu won the election was not on February 25, 2023. Tinubu became President on May 30, 2022, the day Obi won the Labour Party Presidential primaries.

If the courts don't overturn this opaque election and we Christians complain about marginalisation in the coming years, let us remember that we caused it. We are squarely to blame for allowing our emotions dictate our actions, while Muslims suspended their emotions and went for broke with brinksmanship.

Oya, insult. Maybe your abuses will change your reality!
