Ohaneze Begs President Tinubu To Declare State Of Emergency In Southeast Over Sit At Home Order

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural organisation has urged President Bola Tinubu to declare a state of emergence over the sit-at-home order in the Southeast.

Ohanaeze said declaring a state of emergency would send a strong signal to the Southeast governors, who would now be compelled to find a lasting solution to the order.
Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, had severally declared sit-at-homes in the Southeast.

The order by Ekpa had aggravated the crisis in the Southeast, a situation that had led to an attempt to cripple the economic activities of the region.
Reacting, Ohanaeze’s Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the body would not allow Ekpa to destroy the economic activities of the Southeast.

Isiguzoro told Dailypost: “A desperate moment needs desperate action. We want to warn again that Ohanaeze will not fold its arms and allow miscreants to destroy economic activities in the Southeast.

“If possible, where this sit-at-home is happening should be declared a state of emergency. This is what Tinubu would do that will make the Southeast governors sit up and find a lasting solution to the problem.
“Ekpa has declared a second Biafra War, which Igbos are not ready to fight. Igbos are supporting Tinubu and would assist in ensuring that this rebellion is squashed.
“Ekpa’s action is an attempt to divide Igbos, and we wonder why Peter Obi and the rest are not talking. We hope this is not a conspiracy against the president.”

  2. This is the youth wing of Ohaneze ndi Igbo and not the elders. Daily post should know how to report news properly.

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks or say, the solution to the problem is simple. Release Nnamdi Kanu as the court commanded and have your peace. You can't talk of peace without Justice. Not even the state of emergency can bring a lasting peace. Mr state of emergency should stop daydreaming.

    1. Youth wing of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo isn’t part of Ohaneze to you right? Your statement above supports the killing of people in the South East because your coward runaway war monger is resting in the craziest zoo that he insulted. So because the coward isn’t released, it is okay for some of your animals to be killing people from your region? First, you guys blame it on the FG, then Fulani, then DSS, then Tinubu then Asari. But you are now agreeing that your people are the perpetrators of the murders and violence in the east because your coward leader isn’t released yet. Are you guys not hypocrites and a bunch of confused people? You didn’t say anything about the youth wing pointing at Obi your messiah for not saying anything. Anyway, what do I know? Supporters of violence and murder like you will continue to be who you are. Next thing, your ignorance will tell us that the FG should create a ministry of foreign affairs not knowing that we have had that since the creation of the country. Ask Onyeama to tell you what he did in his 7 years as head of the ministry instead of accusing NIDCOM.

    2. Why are people carrying this thing on their head? People who aren't directly affected for that matter?
My uncle lives in Umuahia and according to him there is no violence there, why are other states killing themselves?
So you are in support of the killings?
Ever since they started these rubbish have they released nnamdi?
Is he worth the lives lost, and everything they are disrupting?
Na una know sha, I know this nonsense no fit reach Delta state sha, my people no mumu like that.

    3. The Lifted,

I'm not supporting the killing. That's the reason Simon Ekpa gave for his actions. Come to think of it. Why haven't any of you condemn the government for still keeping Kanu after he won in Court? Why do you all kept silent?

    4. Teejay, you have refused to till date accept that Kanu and the Elders are responsible for the killings in the East today. Own it with your full chest. Dora's husband was killed and many more deaths. Your support for IPOB makes you a killer too. Simeon Ekpa is Kanu's apprentice, the Elders supported him when he took over, now you are calling him names? Kanu, IPOB and Igbo Elders are all in the same WhatsApp group as Simeon.

    5. Even if they release Kanu, the killings will still be there. He was even the one that started the troubles. Please I am Igbo like you, leave this agenda and let’s seek for other solutions.

    6. This Kanu character started the sit at home and after resuming his own sit at home in a comfortable government facility, his voice has suddenly lowered in volume.

Where's the energy he channeled to incite violence in Igboland, Lagos and with diaporans who he deceived into financially sponsoring the bloodshed in their ancestral homes?

Kanu's life is not more important than the many of his own people he has chosen to waste on the altar of his greed and ego. He is the worst of all the Fulani herdsmen combined. He is the biggest terrorist to his people.

Since 1970s, Igbos should have gotten wiser about using their blood to fight personal vendettas. One man starved children to feed soldiers then abandoned his duty post and ran away like a coward on the day he was to save his people from their shame. Now, another has been drawn out by greed after embezzling his deluded kinsmen and they are petting him on the head while telling the central government to wade into ija Fulani pa Gambari. Which part of your problem are you willing to even accept responsibility for?

  3. Why can't this Simon Ekpa be arrested and dealt with for crying out loud?

  4. If a leader is silent when violence is ravaging his people, then he is in support.

What has the president done or said regarding what's going on in Benue state and the south east.
The people there especially in the ravaged communities in Benue state, doesn't sleep anymore. They don't go to the farm anymore and this is the supposed 'food basket of the nation'.

    1. Oga your typing gave you away. You re evil and not different from the people carrying out the K!!ing in the South East. Are we talking about Benue here or the South East, why bring Benue into this topic.

      Delete
    2. It's it data that prevents you from knowing that the president has addressed the Benue crisis and the COAS had even visited, asking the governor to give him a free hand? Are you not aware of general Lagbaja's new orders leading to the seizure of trucks of ammunition in Anambra? Soon, you chronic blamers will read political meanings into the actions without asking what your state governors are doing.

  5. Someone is enjoying himself abroad and be giving orders here in Nigeria The governors fold their hands doing nothing. What do they want peter Obi to do? Is he one of the Governor's?

    1. No, he isn’t one of the governors but a stakeholder in the region with hypocrites as followers. Why is it so easy for Obi to speak about the killings in the northeast, Plateau and Benue but can’t say anything about his own region? Rather he tells us that the same people who are the originators of the violence and killings in the east are the people he lives with in Onitsha in peace? Let him say something. He can’t be silent.

    2. Peter Obi is political leader from that region. Even if no one is saying anything, it's not right for him to act deaf to the cry of his people. How do you expect us to trust someone that couldn't control his people to be our president? This should be the right moment for him to showcase his leadership skills and how efficient he is. He could talk about the insecurities going on in other regions but so deaf to hear his own people's cries. Isn't that the highest form of hypocrisy?

    3. Omotola,

Don't be sentimental while commenting. Peter Obi already commented on the matter. If you can't ask of it, then go and search for it online. He even make statement on it during campaign. What more do you still want from him? To carry gun and fight criminals being sponsored.

    4. Teejay, you're the sentimental one here. The fact that thought releasing Kanu will solve the chaos in southeast shows how much your emotions controls your objectives. Everything happening in East are because of his instigation. So nothing would change with his release, It will even worsen the situation. The fact that you support NK answers all mysteries about your person.

Oh....I missed the part where Peter Obi address the issue. He's not the type that will address such level of chaos and his words won't trend everywhere on social media. His congratulatory messages are all over the net but not his words to address the agony his people are going through. What does that tell you??

And besides, would he have been nonchalant and deaf if what's happening in the east is happening in Lagos? Apart from him, other political spokespersons from that region were unusually quiet as well.

  6. Well, let them wait till the tribunal declare their "messiah" as president. If I were Tinubu, I will pay no heed. They all made it clear that he was never their president.

Don't be unfortunate by writing rubbish under my comment this early morning.

    1. Omotola, no worry yourself. They will always excuse their messiah and blame others for their problems. At the end, they will tell you that Mmesoma is Igbo that’s why JAMB rejected her marks.

    2. Exactly Omotola, PBAT is not their President, yet they are crying out for help at his feet. I would advise them to reach out to their president obi and ask him to save his people, who he readily congratulates on every unverified achievement.
Even, the ones on this blog are constantly having sleepless nights over PBAT's policies and pronouncements, more than those who acknowledge him as their President. The tin tire me!

  7. Finally. When soldiers were deployed a while ago, the Apex group and some people were shouting blue murder, now they want stat.e of emergency? First, Nnamdi Kanu should be sentenced for instigating the killings today in the East. IPOB and it's loyalists should be jailed too.
Nobody should separate IPOB, Kanu and Ekpa, they are the same and Kanu and the elders endorsed Ekpa.

    2. This your comment is the exact reason of what we are suffering today, but some will refuse to agree. People saying release Kanu, as if things will be better when that is done. If Kanu is released today, more problems will certainly abound.

    3. Thank you for stating hard facts.

  8. Teejay, Nnamdi Kanu is a criminal. He is responsible for all the killings in the East today! The so called Elders too are responsible in a subtle way for not condeming all his hate messages. IPOB is a criminal organization. So, cap in hand now, you have seen the monster you all created.... Deal with it! If I were Tinubu, I would ignore this call.

    3. Defeated? As in he is walking freely ?Let me tell you what you probably don't know. I know you are naive but didn't know it is to this extent. Assuming F.G is planning to release Kanu, it's the same people from the East that would preach against it codedly!
      Accept this and know peace.

  9. I have always wondered why the governors of those states where this sit at home and killings are happening haven't done anything about this.
Like they are have become those northern states where evil herdsmen & bokoharam whateevr are killing people anyhow just bcos ...
See eh naija is just a lawless place, anything goes and nobody cares.
The governors of these states are just interested in looting and filling their personal pockets, they don't care, even the federal government don't care.
So who's loosing? You already know.
So make una take una tongue count una teeth.
Our housekeeper here in Abuja lost her mom after those fulani herdsmen attacked their village in benue 3months ago.
Naija is in a rubbish state, tell me why people who are able to japa will not japa

  10. Go to Abuja and release him,he his a coward and will remain a coward, just look at how he was captured, they should not try that shit here in Lagos me I even trust them they wouldn't dare.

  11. The federal government has to step in whether they like to or not or there will be more internal migration away from the East. Go to Ibadan, Akure, Ondo, not just Lagos. It’s filled with SE folks running from their land. That never ends well as very soon they will clash with the natives. It’s how it goes in Nigeria so it’s better to have relative peace in ALL areas as there are no internal borders. What affects one zone ultimately affects the others.,

    1. You are right they will all run to Yorubaland where they are not wanted and where the Yorubas are very cautious of the Igbos and they don't want them in their midst at all. I don't blame them, you cannot live with your enemy and Igbos have declared the Yorubas their enemies. Gani Adams is waiting and prepared for them.

    2. Annon 17:20, if you have any problem with any Igbo or Yoruba person, settle with them. The way you folks talk some times without taughts baffles one. Always fighting and trying to form groups to instigate hatred.

      Delete
    3. Go and talk to your igbo people and IPOB about that. Yoruba people are very peaceful until you cross their lane, even then they are not quick to react, but when their lives and land is in danger that is when they will come at you in full force.
