A Former Chief Pharmacist of National Hospital Abuja, has been Sentenced To Life in Jail For defiling a minor whom he lured to his apartment, spiked his drink, then sodomised.
This is a historic and landmark ruling in the implementation of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.
A statement on Tuesday by the agency’s spokesman, Vincent Adekoye read that the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, sitting in Kubwa, Abuja and presided over by Hon. Justice Asmau Akanbi-Yusuf on Monday convicted and sentenced a Public Officer in Nigeria, Abubakar Mustapha Danraka, Ph.D. to life imprisonment for rape (Sodomy)under Section 1 of the VAPP Act of 2015.

Abubakar Mustapha Danraka was a former Chief Pharmacist of National Hospital, Abuja, and Senior Special Adviser (Technical) to the Director of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development.
The ruling ends the three-year-old controversies surrounding the celebrated case which had attracted much attention from stakeholders across the country.
He was arrested on March 27, 2020, for defiling a minor (name withheld),his neighbour, living in the same estate with him in Abuja.
He reportedly lured the victim to his apartment and had anal interc!urse with him after stupefying him with a drink.
He was charged to Court vide a Charge dated 9th August 2021, and was arraigned on 5th April. 2022 where he pleaded “not guilty”.
The Prosecution team from NAPTIP sufficiently proved the charge beyond a reasonable doubt which led to the September 18, 2023 judgment.

ReplyDeleteBefore he got caught, the little girl used to tell her parents but they thought she was just joking around but went ahead to caution the boy and asked him to desist if he was into stuff like that but the boy denied until he was caught in the act.
He was arrested and during interrogation, he said that an older lady used to ask him to finger her, a grown up lady o.
After much begging, they let him go. I even heard that the shameless woman is still doing it till this date. I asked why she hasn’t been arrested, they didn’t have anything meaningful to say. The circle goes on and on.
Let’s all be very careful and vigilant!!
