    1. I hope she was not beaten to death and they lied its suicide? Hmmm... the way husbands are killing their wives is alarming. They should perform autopsy before burying her. That was how my neighbor almost strangled his wife overnight. Thank God for their gateman that came to her rescue. Had it been he succeeded in offing her he would have lied that she committed suicide. Wives be on guard ooh. Nagama..

  3. Read the news last night and was so shocked. This life people are going through stuffs we don't know.

I stopped blaming suicide victims cos you really don't know how strong they have held it for too long. There are usually secret tears behind those smiles you often see some people display publicly.

At the very end, we'll all be gone someday irrespective of all we have acquired in this life.

    May her soul find rest..

    1. I understand your second paragraph, but don't you think it would have been better to speak out instead of opting for suicide, now look at the young children she left behind to suffer.

    3. Anne K,

Do you say speak out? You wrote as if you don't know how judgmental Nigerians are. Take a look at the blog for instance. People are trolled on the blog for begging for money to feed or solve a pressing need. You're either called a liar or scam. When that person eventually give up, the same people who trolled him or her will spew thrash, ''why didn't he or she speak out'' as if they meant any good.

See let me tell you something. The fact some people don't ask for help online or from people doesn't mean they don't have problems. Na insults they're just avoiding..

    4. After speaking out what next , gossips?, Very few people really cares about what you're going through, your problem is gist to many, some are even glad you have pr, May we not find ourselves in such situatio

    6. A lot of people spoke out and they got shamed
A lot spoke out and got dragged and insulted
A lot spoke out and got called a liar, a fraudster and a weakling.
A lot spoke out and their personal issues and challenges was the gossip in family gatherings.

Besides, she might have been speaking out and getting some help that she later got embarrassed speaking out after some time due to the fact that she doesn't want to be called a begger or a nuisance. How many can even afford a psychologist?

I am not saying what she did is the solution but most times when people say speak out they need to know that people may not due to fear, humiliation and shame. Sometimes others may not listen because they have their own issues they are battling with that sometimes you could be speaking out to someone and feel they are not empathetic enough not knowing that what they are going through is even bigger than your own challenges.
      Because sometimes it isn't financial.

A lot have committed suicide and some are probably contemplating it. God help everyone in that phase and give them peace that surpasses all human reasoning and understanding.

In all, People need to be kind with one another in words, thoughts, deeds and action and if you can't be kind try not to add to others pain.

    8. So because of how judgmental Nigerians are I should commit suicide? Them never born them. The woman has been depressed and left unmanaged that’s why it led to suicide .

      Delete
    9. 9:51 No, no one is saying anyone should commit suicide because of how judgemental people are. Rather the so-called "speaking out cop out" may not be the best option besides it borders on victim-blaming.

Nonetheless, seeing a psychologist, like I wrote earlier is the best option but how many people can afford that?

    10. Speaking out is better than Hell fire o, hell fire is real believe it or not. Forget about the judgegina speaking out is way better it saves lives and puts your mind at rest.

    11. I swear you guys have said it all. I spoke out on something bothering me to one person in my family and I was mocked and shamed by my own family. It became news for everyone.

    12. Okay then keep quiet and SUFFER then.
      Whose loss?
You are conveniently forgetting all the times people have spoken up and received ample help.
Some don't even speak and receive massive help.
Maybe grace no dey your head, or your star no good, or it's just not your time.

You can choose to find excuses or find a way.

      It's all on you.

  10. May God have mercy on her soul. The past 9 years did great damage to families and individuals. Misrule resulted to much depression, frustration & suicide. Unfortunately, tribalism beclouded a lot of people in choosing the right leader. In this part of the West am residing, some normal Yorubas are searching for food inside dustbin late in the night. It is just pitiable & heart wrenching.

  22. So sad, please life is hard, we are all preoccupied with trying to meet our basic needs. All the same, let's never be too busy to check on, or give a listening ear to a family and friend in need.
Avoid comparing yourself with others, thereby putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves. Let us have a sense of contentment. Cut off any negative energy around us. Most importantly, let us be kind, kind, kind, to all around us.

  36. Nigeria is too blessed for people to be this hopeless. Una no know wetin una get. No natural disasters, no extreme cold and extreme heat that can kill. No snow, hurricanes and wild fires. Good food, vast natural resources, plus social & community living. Our only 'curse' na our politicians. Evil leaders. Greedy thieves. For every Nigerian who dies due to hopelessness, it's mostly because of them. The girl that died in the elevator, I hear they have not fixed it yet. People are dying of hunger and hopelessness like never before. This is sad and unjust.

    1. Our only curse is our behaviour. Our people are terrible, go to civil services and see government workers to confirm. We always take advantage of other because we love money more than other human

  37. Sometimes having it all is an illusion. Only the person living the life knows what it feels like. Getting out of hopelessness takes hard work. I wish this was not the end she chose, but I hope her soul is at peace on the other side.

  38. Hmmmm! For those of us passing through what our frail strength can bear, may God in his infinite mercy ease our burdens and come through for us.

Pls if you are going through alot, suicide is never the best way out.🙅🙅🙅🙅 Try as much as you can to speak out, swallow your pride and get mocked but fight to stay alive, you owe yourself that duty. I'm rooting for you. Much love!!!💕💕💕💕

  40. Post partum depression and it's lingering effects in a country where people carelessly confess hopelessness and after many sudden and treacherous economical experiments in the last administration, people felt quite vulnerable. We don't know if home life was also an issue. May God be with her family.
