The strike is set to begin on Wednesday, November 8, 2023
The strike was called in response to the abduction and brutalisation of Ajaero. The incident involved suspected thugs in Owerri, Imo State.
The labour unions have issued a six-point demand to the Nigerian Government, including the immediate removal of the Commissioner of Police in Imo State and the Area Commander.
The attack on Ajaero occurred during a protest over pending labour issues, including the backlog of unpaid salaries and allowances, pensions, gratuities, and non-compliance with the National Minimum Wage Act.
