  1. It's that season again; "I dey come, I dey around, let me see him briefly" is not an address. Always tell someone where you're going to no matter how near.

No matter the quarrel with your partner or spouse or relative, answer your calls, you never would know which call is emergency.

    Proverbs And Its Meaning
A rolling stone gathers no more- One who shifts from place to place never succeeds.

Birds of the same feathers flock together- Persons of the same character are usually friends.

Show me your friend and I will tell you whom you are- The type(s) of friend one keeps, tells the type of person one is.

  4. The New Man In Christ!!
    2 Corinthians 5:17.

    Excerpts!!

"The new man in Christ is the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” Now that the Holy Spirit has taken up His abode in you, your physical body is no longer subject to decay, decadence and corrupting influences of this world."

"God’s dream from the foundation of the world is fulfilled in the new man in Christ."

"You ought to walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel of Christ. You received the fullness of God’s blessing when you received Christ."

    Prayer!!

The creator of all things lives in me in His fullness; I'm a carrier and sharer of His life and glory. I'm conscious of my divine nature and heritage, and I manifest the Christ-life in me to my world by the power of the Spirit, to influence men and women in righteousness, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

  6. ✓KNOW YOURSELF - PART FIFTY

    WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS?
When someone asks you about your strengths, they want to know about your positive qualities and abilities that set you apart and contribute to your success in various areas of life. Here's how you can respond:

1.) Be confident but humble: Own your strengths with confidence but avoid coming across as arrogant.

2.) Relevant to the context: Tailor your response to the specific situation or role in which your strengths are being discussed. Emphasize strengths that are relevant to the topic at hand.

3.) Provide examples: Support your strengths with specific examples from your experiences or achievements to demonstrate how you've applied them.

4.) Focus on transferable skills: Highlight strengths that can be valuable in different settings or industries.

5.) Be truthful: Only mention strengths that truly apply to you. Avoid listing strengths just to impress without any basis in reality.

    Example responses:

"I believe my strong communication skills are one of my greatest strengths. I can articulate my ideas clearly and actively listen to others, which helps me collaborate effectively in team settings."

"One of my strengths is my ability to stay organized and manage my time efficiently. This has allowed me to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently."

"I've been told that my problem-solving skills are a real asset. When faced with challenges, I can think critically and creatively to find solutions that others might not have considered."

"I'm a very adaptable person, which I consider one of my strengths. I can quickly adjust to new situations and thrive in dynamic environments."

"My attention to detail is something I take pride in. It has helped me deliver high-quality work and spot potential issues before they become significant problems."

When discussing your strengths, it's essential to be authentic and provide real examples to back up your claims. By showcasing your strengths, you offer valuable insights into the unique qualities and skills you bring to the table.

  11. Reno Omokri on Southerners that look down on Northerners

One of the biggest mistakes some Southerners (not all) make is to look down on Northerners. Calling them Aboki and Nama because you think they are dull. What you mistake for dullness is actually restraint. They are as intelligent as you, and probably more so. But they are restrained by their religion, which governs every aspect of their lives.

From the day they are born to the day they die and are buried, Islam governs their lives and gives them clarity. As a result, for the most part, they do not act outside the boundaries set for them by their religion. They talk less because Islam has disciplined them to be more introspective. But if they have to speak, they are just as eloquent, or perhaps more eloquent, than you and I. In Hausa, Arabic, and English. And sometimes in Fulfulde. Waxiri Atiku Abubakar, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and Ambassador Hassan Turkur, for example, are fluent in all four languages. And except for Ambassador Turkey, they speak and understand Yoruba with lower fluency.

This polyglottic ability is common to most core Northerners. The ones in the Southwest speak Yoruba. Those in the Southeast speak Igbo. They will not tell you because bragging is unIslamic. It is only when you befriend them that you will discover it yourself.

They have the ability to talk and say some of the things you say. But they won't because of the discipline their religion imposes on them. They can act in the same way you act, but they are inhibited due to the training their faith has put them through. They can dress as sexily as you. But they opt not to because Islam is conservative, especially in modes of dressing. There is nothing that you can do that they cannot do. They do not do it, not because they cannot. Rather, they choose not to do it out of fear of God.

Be aware that whereas the colonial masters met some Southerners and Middle Belters butt naked (if you argue, I will produce photos. I say this not to shame anyone, but history is history and is sometimes not pleasant), barefooted, and without any central authority or organised form of government, or writing system, they met core Northerners fully clothed, on horses or donkeys, with sandals, a form of writing (Ajami) and a system of organised hierarchical government that started in Sokoto, invoiced parts of the present day Niger Republic, and ended in modern-day Cameroon.

Rethink the way you look at Northerners. Other than the Yorubas, with their Oyo Empire, the Binis, with their ancient civilisation, and the Itsekiri, with their centuries old standing navy, no other Nigerian people had a complete and modern system of government, with internal organisation and organised transition of power, that transcended their domain and extended to dominating others, apart from the core North.

Whereas, in some places, women do not inherit or have only recently been allowed to be educated, core Northern women have ALWAYS been guaranteed inheritance rights by Islam. They can choose who they will marry and have been educated and educators for centuries. Oh yes. Fact-check me. Nana Asmaʼu was a poet and teacher 200 years ago. And the only woman on Nigerian currency, Ladi Kwali, was a world renowned potter and teacher of pottery skills.

If you know what is good for you as a people, restrain yourself from disrespecting them, and instead, treat them with mutual respect and do not underestimate them. To do so is to make the greatest political mistake you can make, which may set you back decades as a people.

Wise people will learn from the above. But some people will only insult, abuse and threaten. Because when you have nothing in your culture that you hallow, you become shallow.

  16. Reno Omokri speaks on tithing and a big scam it is in Christianity

Why Tithing Is a Big Scam in Christianity

Warning: Don't read only the headline, and in your typical attention deficit disorder, you rush to comment on what you have not read because of your religious programming.

This Is Why The Levites And ONLY The Levites Were To Receive Tithes: The greatest attraction of people into Evangelical and Pentecostal ministry is tithe. Remove tithes, and more than half of these so-called ministers will remove themselves from ministry.

Tithes have attracted so many 'If you don't pay your tithes, things will be tight for you' people into ministry because they see it as a means of financial gain. If you try to teach Evangelicals and Pentecostals the truth of what Scripture says, they will cite Malachi 3:10:

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.”

But notice that that verse says, “That there may be food in My house.” It does not say that there may be money.

Tithes are a strictly agricultural tax. And the only time Yeshua Hamasiach (Jesus Christ) mentions tithes, He mentioned them strictly in agrarian terms and only to the Pharisees who were under the law. We see this in Matthew 23:23:

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.”

There is no single instance of paying monetary tithes in Scripture.

The only alternative to agricultural produce was alcoholic beverages. We see this in Deuteronomy 14:24-26:

"But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the LORD your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the LORD will choose to put his Name is so far away), then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the LORD your God will choose. Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice."

Why did God require the ancient Israelites to pay tithes of their farm produce?

    Joshua 13:14 gives the answer.

“But to the tribe of Levi, he gave no inheritance, since the food offerings presented to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he promised them.”

When the Israelites got to the Promised Land, God instructed Joshua not to apportion any land to the Levites. And because they had no land by which they could farm, God asked all the other tribes to bring a tithe of their agricultural harvest to the House of God so that the Levites could eat food and also perform the grain, meat, oil and wine sacrifices.

That is why Malachi 3:10 uses the term “That there may be food in My house”.

But you may ask, what about Abraham? Abraham did not tithe his income or his farm harvest. Abraham tithed ONCE. And he only tithed from military plunder, also called spoils of war, and we see this in Hebrews 7:4:

“Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!”

The disciples and the early Christians never collected tithes. They took free will offerings-Acts 2:44-45. Not one person in the New Testament is recorded as paying tithes.

If a pastor justifies tithing using the Old Testament, ask them why they do not also justify polygamy since the Old Testament allows it-2 Samuel 12:8, or slavery-Deuteronomy 20:11, or other extreme forms of punishment for sexual offences-Leviticus 20:13.

Stop saying, ‘Christianity is confusing’ or ‘I am just confused’. You are not confused. You are lazy. It is bebecause you listen to different pastors and prophets and men of God, but you do not read Scripture.

  23. YOU ARE A WONDER

'I praise you because I am...wonderfully made.' Psalm 139:14 NIV

Despite your aches and pains, you are a living, breathing, walking, talking wonder. The psalmist said, 'You...put me together inside my mother's body, and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me' (Psalm 139:13-14 CEV).

One author explains: 'Most of us take our eyesight for granted, but even the simplest of processes is divinely complex. The retina, for example, conducts close to ten billion calculations every second, and that is before an image even travels through the optic nerve to the visual cortex. The human nose can detect one-millionth of one milligram of garlic floating in the air and distinguish among ten thousand distinct odours. The hairs blanketing your body magnify the sensation of touch so that you can discern a thousandth of an ounce of pressure on the tip of a half-inch hair. Amazing, isn't it?' Trillions of chemical reactions are taking place in every cell of your body every second. You are inhaling oxygen, metabolising energy, digesting food, maintaining equilibrium, purifying toxins, producing hormones, exhaling carbon dioxide, repairing tissues and circulating blood. As you read this, millions of electrical impulses are firing across billions of synaptic pathways, and you don't even think about it.

Praise God for the gift of life and the multitude of his blessings you enjoy. And one more all-important thing: discover your life's purpose and dedicate yourself to fulfilling it. It has been said the two most important days in a person's life are the day they're born and the day they discover why they were born. Think about it!

  25. I was talking with Idongesit Raymond(not her real name), my colleague, yesterday.

"Idy, I need a house help asap. Do you have any contacts?" I asked.

She answered, "I'll ask someone when I get home."

Then, she proceeded to add, "Doc Vicky, I thought they said house help is grammatically wrong."

"Really? So what's the correct word?"

"Home help. That's what I heard o", she replied and chuckled.

"Home help? Abeg o, na house help me I know. There's nothing wrong with house help."

Idy shrugged and said, "There's nothing like house help. Look it up first."

Quite unlike ME, I started to argue blindly.

Just as some of my students would start arguing blindly if, during a lecture, I told them that "extreme end", and "or else", are all grammatically correct.

Just as my students would start arguing blindly if, during a lecture, I told them that knickers refer to a piece of undergarment worn by WOMEN and GIRLS. A pair of knickers is not worn by men and boys.

You know, the above-mentioned lexical items (extreme end, or else, and knickers) are readily verifiable from any reputable dictionary online.

Therefore, instead of arguing, simply go to the dictionary and verify the meaning/usage of the words. As Peter Obi will say: #GoAndVerify 😄

When I got home after my conversation with Idy, one part of my mind told ME to look up the meaning of house help.

Another part of my mind started the argument again, "House help is correct jhoor! After all, we've been hearing it since we were kids!"

Reluctantly, I reached for my phone and googled the phrase, HOUSE HELP.

I couldn't find it in Cambridge, Longman, Oxford, and Webster.

I googled HOME HELP and it popped up thus:👇

Home help: someone who is paid to help with the cleaning of someone else's home. (Cambridge dictionary)

Collins, Oxford, Longman, and Merriam Webster dictionaries differ slightly in their definitions. They're in agreement that 👇

A home help is a person who is employed to visit ILL, SICK or OLD PEOPLE at home and help with their cleaning or cooking.

The synonym for home help is domestic help.

Domestic help is (a person paid to give) assistance with housework etc.
    Or
A person who is paid to help with cleaning and other menial tasks in a person's home.

    CONCLUSION
I went back to the office the following day. I ate the humble pie and showed Idy my research findings.

NB: To eat the humble pie means to admit that one was wrong.

I also thanked Idy profusely for insisting that there is no word like house help in SBE (Standard British English). House help is just a piece of Nigerianism.

The point is, someone who is employed to assist with some work at home is a DOMESTIC HELP or HOME HELP, not a house help.

I think I prefer domestic help to home help. I'll tell you why.

If you're searching for a person who'll assist ILL, SICK or OLD PEOPLE in the home, the correct word is home help.

If you're looking for a person who'll help with cleaning and other household chores, go for a domestic help.

I need a domestic help asap.

    Got value reading this, right?

    I'm rooting for you 💪

  43. This life is regimented for some people. As a child. Your parent will carry you every morning to school and bring you back. (Mon-friday) from primary to secondary. On weekends they stay indoors to watch movies. Sunday your parents carry you to church and back home. You don't even know your neighbors or know anything about your environment. This life goes on till you enter university. What a break💃💃💃. At university you start another regimented triangle life style. Hostel -school- canteen-library -hostel. This continues till the next 5//6/7 years in the university depending on your course of study
Hurray💃💃💃💃 you are now a graduate. NySC. One full year of freedom if you are lucky. Then you get a job and another life style starts. Home-office-home or home -office-church-home. (Mon-friday). Saturdays are for cleaning and cooking. Sunday is for church and church activities.. Before you open your eyes. You are 60yrs🙄🙄. For some women after graduation they get married. Get pregnant and give birth. Stay indoors for months nursing the baby. Before they baby starts giving them space they are pregnant again , back to nursing a baby. Before you open your eyes. You are 55yrs🤣🤣🤣🤣. This life sha. Like the saying goes... We are pencils in the hand of our creator

  51. If you have teenage boys and young adult males, warn them well . Police, EFCC, etc have declared war on Yahoo boys and their friends, they are packing boys anyhow now and you have to cough out 500k for each boy to be released.
