DeleteWhen I was in Umuahia sometime in August to September, there's this woman I usually buy stuff from her table she uses as shop. One day, we were discussing and I told her ma'a, you often put hand at the back of your apron to give me change and I noticed it takes you time to do that. Why not wear the apron properly by facing the side that has the pocket and zip in front.
ReplyDeleteThis woman wore the apron backward. The zip and pocket side is facing her stomach while the plain side faces outward. So getting one's change usually takes her time.
When I asked the reason for wearing it that way, she smiled and explained to me. She said, ''My son, this apron was giving to me by the Labour Party people as an Obident but I discovered some of my customers aren't cool with it. So after election, I decided to face the side that has the logo and party name backward and the plain side in front, so I don't lose customers that are not in Labour Party.
I said that's a good thinking and wisdom you have applied on your business.
Few days to the Imo state gubernatorial election, Kate Henshaw a staunch Obident and supporter of Labour Party was contracted by Gov. Hope Uzodinma to perform at an APC campaign rally. She took the offer and when video footage gone viral, she was trolled and dragged for associating with APC activity.
Kate Henshaw, was quick to remind everyone that she was first an actress and entertainer and she's just being professional on what put foods on her table. I think it was at that point everyone let her be.
Some of us are into businesses here. Do we sell only to LP members alone? Are we going to reject sales from APC customers or even PDP? I doubt no one will do that.
I did a job here in PH for a PDP chieftain and also in Bayelsa for a PDP chieftain. The one I did in Umuahia was also a PDP chieftain. I didn't reject their money. If APC give me contract today, I will so embrace it with my two hands. It will be my sweat and skill to deliver and make money as well.
If my father were to be alive and support APC or PDP, would I have insulted or disowned him or even rejected anything that comes from him? I think the answer is No.
So I think we should all take it easy and stop the trolling on SDK. It's no longer worthy of keeping silence at this point after seeing her constant rants on people dragging the business decision she made which I still think is her right to do.
I don't have the power to tell anyone to move on from the fraud of an election we all witnessed but then I think it's not encouraging with the abuse and trolling ongoing.
Come rain come shine, I still owe my vote, party faithfulness and allegiance to Labour Party and H.E Peter Obi anytime anyday but we have to respect others choice as well.

The story goes that the man said to be the first British resident in Nigeria, Captain Robert Lister Bower (the 60-foot Bower Tower was built in his honour in 1936), was fond of strolling out of his abode in the evenings as a form of exercise.
Whenever he was stepping out, he will wave at his guard, an old Ijesha man, that he was going "down the road."
So when neighbours or friends come looking for Captain Bower, the old Baba Ijesha will tell them, "o ti lo Dándárù (meaning he has gone to Dándárù)."
He actually wanted to say "down the road" but ended up with the pidgin adaptation, DÁNDÁRÙ.
So next time you hear "Dándárù," just smile and remind yourself it is "DOWN THE ROAD."
The place is adjacent Queen Elizabeth Road; the road connecting the Agodi Government Secretariat and the popular Agodi Gardens to the UCH-Mokola Road.

I went through serious depression last week, I think that was last week Monday, na wetin make me disappear from blog until 2 days ago..
I was returning from town that evening, was feeling feverish, so I branched a pharmacy to get medications, Omo, see the cost of drugs.. so expensive, I begin vex for government, dey vex for Nigeria but I had no choice, I must treat myself, I buy the EXPENSIVE medicine..
I come go market go buy EXPENSIVE fish and stuff wey I go use tidy rice when I reach house..
I reach house, light no dey, I come go my car booth to carry the keg of EXPENSIVE fuel wet dey there, pour the remaining EXPENSIVE fuel into the Gen, on am, come enter house back say make I cook.. as I dey per-boil the rice, na so gas finish..
I rush carry gas put for car make I rush go buy gas before the gas plant close as it was getting dark already, the price of Gas almost knock me off, and the guy told me if I have an empty cylinder I should better fill it too because gas would become more expensive in 2 weeks time, (that's next week), that it'll be like double the price, I just dey vex, I buy the EXPENSIVE gas finish, dey drive go back house, next thing, the fuel inside my car finish, for road, everywhere don dark, I come dey cause traffic,. Some guys joined me to push the car to the side of the road, I come take bike go house go carry the keg of fuel, come go buy EXPENSIVE fuel for filling station, before biking back to where I parked to pour the EXPENSIVE fuel into the car so I can drive back the EXPENSIVE gas to cook the EXPENSIVE rice and take the EXPENSIVE medications..
Na so I just fall into depression..
If I be woman life for no hard like this, see chronicles yesterday, shey you see as men dey use money take dey tempt women up and down.. see as them no dey encourage or celebrate us everywhere even here too.. me I don come out of the closet oh.. na woman I be..
