  3. Over hype, King of boys is still better than all of this. The fact it makes much money doesn't mean it is so good.

    3. I disagree, at the work place the person with highest shares or profit is regarded no 1 and Al others follow whether the person is an expert in the field or not. This applies in life

    4. @Charleyalade...I quite agree with you that king of boys was not really all that. I couldn't even be bothered to watch the second part. I haven't seen TCJ either

    6. I wont advise anyone to watch it . A complete waste of time . Overhyped and …like i said rubbish. No one should bully me online into liking what should have been an animation for ward 7/ old people home entertainment.

  6. This movie is a MASTERPIECE, It's worth the hype. I enjoyed every part of it....the comedy, action, love, suspense, tragedy, everything was top notch. I laughed, I smiled, I even cried at some point 🤣🤣. Funke is genius forget.

Emeka, Adamu, Chairman, Jedidiah, Ejiro and Testimony, Eji baby's girlfriend were my favorite characters.

Chairman(Uzor Arukwe), Ejiro(Olumide Oworu), Testimony (Genovevah Umeh), the two security guards at the mall, all gave us comic relief at some point. I love how Jedidiah trained her first and second sons to be very responsible, they played their roles well as oldest ones especially Emeka. I cried when Emeka died, I cried when Jedidiah cried, I laughed so hard when Shins led the family in prayers and each time Ejiro and Testimony displayed their love 🤣.

Let me stop here abeg, I've a lot to do. It's been long I was so into a movie like this. I must rewatch this movie oo.

      Emeka's death pained me.

    3. Really?? Including suspense.
I always find it boring watching home movies. Most of them are predictable, like you can tell what will happen next.
I like it when it comes with suspense, like you don't wanna miss a scene.
How you described the one up there, guess it worths it, not just 'hype'.

  7. Won't want to drop a spoiler
But I saw something different figuratively

Jedidah is like a dying Nigeria and the need for her children (the different tribes in Nigeria)coming together to make sure she doesn't in her suffering.

In all get a girlfriend like testimony

  8. A tribe called Judah
Funke-Jedidiah Judah, mother of five sons from five different fathers from five tribes in Nigeria.
Jide kene Achufusi - Emeka Judah, first son and a sales man at C&K furniture. A very hard working and responsible young man..
Adamu Judah, second son, a security man at the mall. He , Adamu and Emeka were the only ones helping their mother.
Timing Egbuson -Pere, onye oshi. Was nearly set ablaze for alleged stealing but was saved by his mother and a friend she just helped with money.

Tobi Makinde-Shina, hooligan, weed smoker, the " l no go gree for anybody type", had rough friends who at the end facilitated their escape.

Olumide Oworu-Ejiro, last born, an artist whose relationship with his girlfriend Testimony saved their lives at the time of the robbery.
    To be continued.

  10. Movie Title: A Tribe Called Judah
    Directors: Adeoluwa Owu, Funke Akindele-Bello
    Producer: Funke Akindele-Bello

Cast: Funke Akindele, Jide Kene Achufusi, Timini Egbuson, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, Olumide Oworu, Ebelle Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini and Boma Akpore.

The movie opens with Jedidah Judah, a single mother of five boys, waking up in the morning, and after observing her morning prayer, she anoints the pictures of her sons, seeking God’s protection over them.

The subsequent scene reveals who Jedidah is: aside from being a prayerful mother, she is also a robust and no-nonsense pillar support in her community. She is known in her neighbourhood for her hard work and supportive roles.

Speaking about support, Jedidah had supported Linda, one of the women in the community, in starting a small pepper business, but this did not sit well with Linda’s husband, Papa Micheal, who not only destroyed the company but also started beating his wife, Linda.

When Jedidah intervened, Papa Micheal transferred his aggression to her, called her a prostitute and threatened to beat her too. Well, he did slap her, and it was in the presence of her last child, Ejiro. Ejiro wasted no time and immediately called up his brothers, the tribe called Judah.

Emeka is the first son, a sales representative at a mall. His father was Kalu, who put Jedidah in the family way and relocated. His grandmother raised Emeka.

Adamu, her second son, was a security guard at the mail. His father, Bako, was from Kano, Bako. While he dated Jedidah, his family rejected her because she was not Muslim, and he left and remarried in Kano.

The third child, Shina, was a hoodlum. His father, Lekan, was a lesson teacher to his elder siblings when he fell in love with Jedidah, only to elope after Shina was born.

Pere, the fourth child, was a petty thief; his father, Boma, had married Jedidah but died.

And then the last son, Ejiro, a painter and a lover-boy, was born through a bar romance and a one-night stand during the peak of Jedidah depression.

A whole family that had everything; while the first two children are well-adjusted, the last three are essentially problem children. Pere is a chronic pickpocket, Shina is a community thug, and Ejiro is a naughty child with his girlfriend, Testimony.

But despite the the childrens’ flaws, Jedidah was everything to them until her health failed due to intake of unhealthy sachet-packed spirit drinks.

She developed kidney disease, and her children must find a way to raise N18 million to fund her operation and N400,000 weekly for her dialysis. This is coming at the wrong time, as Emeka recently lost his job while tending to his mother’s health despite his efforts and hard work.

Driven by the desperation to save their mother’s life, they decide to rob Emeka’s ex-boss, known for money laundering, of his dollars. The brothers connived with the security guards on duty and then strike on the night the company held a costume party, which is perfect for disguising their faces.

Unfortunately, the manager of C and K company, Collate (Nse Etim Ekpe) also arrived the robbery scene with her gang of heavily armed group. There was a showdown and the eldest brother Emeka died and the others sustained injuries.

Through the collaboration with his street gang Shina the third son, manages to scurried his mother and remaining brothers away.

For me Shina(Tobi Makinde) aka Shinene is my favourite character.

I never believed tinini(tobi) and timini the gbeweri can play such roles. Olumide must be a last child in real life. Testimony love for him be like make I slap them both. But in all, a tribe of judah is a great one.🙌👏

  12. Other Characters
Ebele Okaro. -Jedidah's mother who complained that the boys, the last three turned out the way they were because Jedidiah over indulged them. She was at the hospital with Jedidiah and it was after she and Jedidiah had spoken to Emeka that he agreed to be part of the robbery. She was the one left in the hospital when the boys took their mother away before the escape.

Uzor Arukwe - Chairman, Charmoo, owner of the furniture company. Stinkingly rich, but stingy and wicked. Portrayed the typical Igbo rich but illiterate money bag. Interchanges "l and r as in Correct in place of of collect, loll on in place of roll on. He added humor to the movie. Btw, he was into money laundry. He hid dollars in the exotic chairs he brought in from abroad. My hand is paining me let me just stop here.

    Triumphant One
