Dante, that's called Oleku in Yoruba language. Oleku is mostly a bubu top and a short wrapper. Recently got to know Oleku could also be a top and longer wrapper. Not sure cause I'm not Yoruba.
DeletePhyna dressed like a real yoruba lady.
Oleku or whatever you call it is not a traditional Yoruba wear, it's a modern indecent dressing introduced by woke people
Delete14:27,
DeleteOleku is an old style of dressing that has returned a few times since the 60's and 70's
I have my screensaver of my mom in it, complete with platforms, envelope purse and an afro. The Buba is a short sleeved lace and the wrapper is damask.
It wasn't thigh length but it was wayyyy above the knee.
My mom is now 82.
Anon 15:07, you're right about the period and the wrapper length - above the knees. My mum wore the style to lots of parties in the 60s, 70s and she's now 89yo. The name Oleku is actually from a Yoruba novel/film which was set in the 70s. Ayettymama
