Ebonyi was arrested for defrauding his victims, comprising Non-Governmental Organisations, NGOs and individuals by advertising an intervention project through his NGO (Theobarth Global Foundation) claiming that the Ford Foundation was offering a grant of $20,000,000.000 (Twenty Billion United State Dollars) to assist the less-privileged in the society.
He allegedly beguiled his victims to subscribe as beneficiaries of the phony grant by asking them to pay for registration forms and clusters. Each subscriber was made to pay N1,800,000 (One Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira only). Through this arrangement, Ebonyi allegedly raked in N1,391,040,274.31. His subscribers are innocent and unsuspecting Nigerians and NGOs across the country.

Investigations by the EFCC showed that the Ford Foundation had no arrangement, grant, relationship or business with Ebonyi. The Foundation pointedly disclaimed him and his NGO stressing that it had no link whatsoever with them. The Commission has also traced five properties he acquired as proceeds of his criminal dealings.
Ebonyi is still reportedly reaching his subscribers on some social media platforms to market his spurious grant from Ford Foundation.
He would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded

ReplyDeleteEnd time pastors 🙄🙄🙄
ReplyDeleteVery deceptive actions he took that year. He made huge promises and kept assuring Nigerians that he would keep to his promises from time to time.
ReplyDeleteWhen he couldn't meet up with the promises, he started coming with excuses that some people in government are working underground against him to see that he doesn't meet up with his promises. That because of the forth coming election, many politicians who have observed that his movement would make a lot of Nigerians rich/financially independent when the grants are paid are after his life to stop him from fulfilling his promises as they believe that if Nigerians get out of poverty, they won't need to allow themselves to be used by politicians in the forthcoming (recently concluded) election . He asked for prayers, claiming that his life was at stake.
They once brought an information that some military people came to whisky him away but he was latter released. He even placed a curse on those Nigerians who were claiming that he wasn't going to fulfill his promises. He said that the money would be useless to them if they eventually get a share from the money after he must have fulfilled his promises.
Ah you know his story very well.
DeleteI've a friend that's among his victims. She's so brainwashed by his lies that each time I try to make her see reasons that he's a fraud, she'll get angry with me. Let me forward this to her sef.

ReplyDeleteLure of eazy money has most Nigerians by their throats. So they fall time after time for these scams.
ReplyDeleteIt's sheer greed. Pay 1 million and get grand of 10 million.
DeleteIt wouldn't even make sense to a daft person. When you are naturally greedy and gullible person, they can sell you sand and tell you its oxygen.
Awon 1st vegetables, gullible avaricious sheep.
There are still Nigerians doing some form of MMM-related scheme even as we speak. This ideology of "Its not my portion, God will tell me when its about to crash" and long throat will have Nigerians falling for these scams from now till eternity.
