ReplyDeleteShocking to hear, I hope she heals completely. Did they reveal the cancer type? Just wondering why chemotherapy is their first course of treatment instead of surgery or immunotherapy?
ReplyDeleteA whole royal family! They have access to the best doctors in the world. Obviously the must have seen that chemotherapy is the best option.
DeleteIf cancer is detected in the lymph nodes they will go for chemotherapy in a bid to stop it from spreading through the body. Because if it spreads to certain sites like the lungs or bones, into the bloodstream then success diminishes.
Delete@fidel, Yes they probably have the best doctors but news is always an avenue to question and learn/relearn. Cancer is not new, all available treatments and even those in trials are public knowledge. Chemo is no longer first line for most cancers.
Delete@14.55, thanks for explaining, But isn't cancer in the lymph node an indicator of spread or upstaging, and more likely advanced cancer, not early stage. If so, then an aggressive treatment is a good course of therapy.
