Nigerian Netizens Allegedly Boycotting Reality TV Show BBNaija

The new Season of Big Brother Naija reality TV show is NOT TRENDING despite the house being packed with Interesting characters....
Is it that Nigerians are tired or is it that they are concentrating on the Ongoing protest and dont want any distractions? I have not even posted any news from the house since the day they went in......
Are you watching the show????
I used allegedly because I am open to being corrected.

    2. Anon 14:59 I hope you have also scrapped your source of livelihood.

    3. 14:59,

There's no soft way to put this. This kind of small thinking doesn't create wealth. It rather leaches it. This mindset of consumption, continued confession of lack and desperation with a desire to spread same, leads to even worse than you are experiencing now. When you have the sense of entitlement concerning someone else's sweat and resources, it guarantees poverty and caps your rise.

All forms of this thinking have been tested at home and in the abroad that people are today: socialism, mercantilism, Maoism, communism, etc. Poverty is the short and long term result.

People are prioritising needs leading to less subscriptions and so, fewer people can afford past times. It's left for the business to pivot and not for you to expect the jobs of those directly employed or indirectly involved via loans, banking, taxes, telecoms, equipment, marketing etc to be liquidated so you can stuff your cheeks once and for all.

    4. Bb Naija is free food programme rewarding the one that last long eating free food and enjoying freebies..lol... another means of livelihood can be switched to rather than encouraging immorality through a programme

    5. Let BbNaija channel the money and idea towards another business ocumen. I hate the show so much If I had that kind of money will rather give to the poor than support such a show.

  2. The organisers should know that Nigerians get bored quickly. These housemates are not even good looking as the previous ones. They should pause it for like 2 years and the n come back with a big bang. Also, be sensitive to your macroenvironment. There is a lot of hardship in the land. You are doing reality show. Does it make sense? Their analyst failed them on this one

  5. The ones that are watching are not much, majority are not watching because of the way the country is going now, people have alot of things to handle and the source of income this days is hard so when people get home big brother will be the last thing on there mind..

  6. I think people have started getting tired of watching some people sitting in a free house, eating free food, making free hair and looking good freely. Hunger dey town.

  8. I think that's the least of Nigerian problems now.

Stella, people are truly suffering I must be candid to you. When people are hungry, they won't have appetite on things that won't give or generate money for them. They won't even stream online to watch it.

The hunger currently in Nigeria is so strong now and never been seen before. It's biting very hard and everyone is affected. I got several messages on DM both online and offline from people asking as little as 1k to 2k. It's that bad and when I tried to talk to them how difficult it's for me as well, they wouldn't believe or have it. The fact they see you dress well and wear nice perfume, every thing you say to them becomes a lie of what you're going through.

I spoke with someone few days ago after my surgery for some little assistance. Though I didn't tell him about my treatment and health issues. The next thing he said was, I'm trying to mock him or laugh his condition. He went further to say, a chairman like me is whinning him why it should be him requesting to drop aza for me. This is someone I have given so much in the past but I wouldn't fault him. Most times people feel and believe you're still doing well by mere seeing your appearance and wouldn't know what you've been through or going through until you open up to them.

Take a good look at your friends that were doing good a few years ago. You'll understand what I'm actually saying.

  9. No lies in what you said
Na person wey chop, survive go happy, subscribe and be watching people's reality.

    This is a wrong timing
People are striving to survive first.
Maybe after the protest, people will remember then.

  10. I am suspecting that it's because of the economic hardship. People are hungry and angry. They hardly subscribe to paid apps and cable TVs these days to watch the show and even data to watch online is very expensive now.
I bought 5gigs two days ago, it finished the following day. This same 5gigs used to last for a week and I would use it for even more than what I used it for two days ago. It's a sad situation.

    1. I forgot to add the high cost of cable TV subscription. The GOTV Jolly that I used to subscribe for 2800 last year is now over 4k. Gotv Max that was less than 4k is now over 7k. Some people with DSTV that I know have abandoned their decoders cos that one is very expensive now.

  11. Big Brother has been done and dusted in other countries and they moved on to New shoes. But useless Nigerians are hanging on to it like their lives depend on it. Let them continue. No be money they go use subscribe to DsTV?

    1. Can't you write decently without insults? It's this same attitude we take to political discussions by abusing people who hold alternative opinions or choices.
I don't watch it, I've never watched it but won't abuse anybody watching it.
It's their TV, their subscription and their electric power or generator.

  12. Lol. Others not even up to one week fa and it's been trending back to back in twitter. Trust me, the people invested in BBN are still watching it.

  13. Stella where I live in Eko there's been Constant light for like 4 days but DStv and Gotv has gone off. People still watch the reality show though things are hard in naija. I hear some women discussing it. It's well with us in Naija.

  14. It's people that have enough to spare for extra data that will watch the show.

  15. With the happenings in the country, who wants to get entangled with a reality show that teaches nothing but immorality 🙄

  16. That’s not true. Big brother is taking place in Canada. Theirs is much better though…the games!

  17. Those who love the show and can subscribe are watching.

  18. It is still early as the week goes on ,trust Nigerians they will pick up .For now na hunger and tinubu be their problem may the good Lord heal our land and give our leaders the wisdom to listen to the cry on the land, hunger is real in Nigeria

  19. The subscription has gone up. No be who don chop belleful, pay school fees go subscribe?

I've just intentionally stayed away from watching and even reading updates about the show. The toxicity during and after the show is my main reading for staying away. Fans and their over sabi behaviour. You'll even see some housemates hating each other because of their fans. They can't seem to think for themselves. Abeggi!

  27. Me I'm watching from my neighbor's window 🤣🤣
Anyways, I feel the high cost of subscription cost it. Many people parked up their decoders. Money you should use to buy foodstuffs you'll now use to pay subscription when you're not even sure there will be light to watch it.

    Hunger dey everywhere

  31. A lot of people can't afford DStv again. Even if there is DStv, no light, no money to buy fuel. Nigeria is just sinking daily

  35. Thank God you are not watching. They just packed ugly girls full that house. E no go better for who do the casting this year. Its like they are loosing their marketing sense. No one will subscribe to watch ugly people.
