The man, who was named was arrested by a joint team from LAWMA and LAGESC/KAI and subsequently remanded in Kirikiri Prison till June 26, 2025.
Lagos Commissioner for Environment, Wahab Tokunbo, says the days of indiscriminate waste disposal are over
''The arrest is a strong message to those who persist in sabotaging the state's environmental agenda. Lagos is not a dumping ground. Anyone caught polluting public spaces will face the full weight of the law," Wahab emphasized.
The suspect will also be subjected to psychiatric tests, as part of the ongoing proceedings.

Why should they arrest him.?
ReplyDeleteThey were already waste there and they man capitalized on that. I am sure there is a big bin there probably covered with waste that's why people are dumping there.
If lawma were to be effective, nobody will dump on the road side. Even though I don't subscribe to his actions cause they shy be a disposal bin in his house. Maybe they refused to pay and lawma stopped going to carry.
We pay as much as 200k to lawma to dispose common waste.
Even trash dey cost money. Abeg mek dem free the man jare. Lagos is dirty.
One person has to be the scapegoat, good for me
Delete11:39,

What kind of mentality is this?? Lagos is dirty so they should just allow people to keep adding to the dirt on ground abi? π

DeleteI haaaate that thing. Like you will just park, bring your d out to pee. π
DeleteCANDY
Why do people do this? π€·
ReplyDeleteI had been in a city where my brother warned me thus- "you see this chewing gum in your mouth, once you are tired of chewing it, either you swallow it or you put it inside your bag. Again do not spit on the road otherwise you will be arrested". Haba, arrested kwa.
ReplyDeleteHow then can some dump trash in an unauthorised place? Our mentality! I sometimes wonder. This will serve as a deterrent to others.
Eko oni gbaje ooooo
ReplyDeleteLagos will not collect witch. That's what you wrote.
DeleteA lesson for others.
ReplyDeleteVery good. They should come to my area and arrest people dumping refuse inside gutter.
ReplyDeleteThey should use him as scape goat, others will learn
ReplyDeleteAnd these fools wonder why there is a rat problem with deadly diseases.
ReplyDeleteScape π....
ReplyDeleteGood one.
ReplyDeleteNice one. Though the lawma people are supposed to be coming every week. But they only come once in a month. It's really worrisome πππ
ReplyDeleteNice one, while at it please don't ignore open defecation. It's a menace, I must confess. Even in supposed posh places.
ReplyDeleteServes him right...
ReplyDeleteThey should also seal the house the trash came from. That’s a 2 storey building right there without trash bins so how do other occupants of the building dispose their trash if not the way he was caught.
ReplyDeleteImagine The Bushit
ReplyDeleteServes him Right..
Scape Goat is very Important..
