As Nigerian workers joined their colleagues worldwide to mark the May Day celebration, President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, acknowledged that Nigerians are experiencing economic hardship headlined by rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, loss of livelihoods, and the pressure of providing for their families.

 The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mr Nyeson Wike, is en-route to China for a series of official engagements towards the provision of water for satellite towns in the FCT. Mr Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the minister disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.

Police Command in Jigawa State has successfully averted a potential fuel tanker explosion after a truck carrying Premium Motor Spirit overturned in Ringim Local Government Area of the state. Its spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu,, in a statement on Thursday in Dutse, said there was no death or serious casualty recorded in the incident, which occurred at Zangon Kaya Village.

 The Federal Government has directed that work should stop on the 12km Sagamu-Iperu Road by the Sagamu Interchange on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi, gave the directive on Thursday during an inspection tour of road projects in Lagos and Ogun states. He expressed displeasure at the quality and speed of work on the road.

The board said that the site, “Copyrightwriter Personal J Rescheduling Flw” and account number 8520641017 at Sterling Bank, associated with it, are scam.

 The National Judicial Council (NJC) has placed three judges on a one-year suspension without pay. They are Justice Jane E. Inyang of the Court of Appeal, Uyo Division; Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division and Justice Aminu Baffa Aliyu of the Federal High Court, Zamfara Division.
