Supreme Court Revokes Bizman Fred Ajudua's Bail

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has overturned the bail granted to Fred Ajudua, a Lagos-based businessman, and ordered him back to prison.

Ajudua is facing trial for allegedly defrauding a German company of $1 million through an advance fee fraud scheme, commonly known as a "419" scam, over 30 years ago.
The apex court ruled that the Court of Appeal erred in granting him bail, and instructed the trial judge to resume proceedings in the case.

Ajudua has faced a series of high-profile fraud allegations dating back to the 1990s, and was previously denied bail by the trial judge due to the protracted nature of the case.

The Court of Appeal had overturned this decision, but the Supreme Court has now reversed the appeal court's ruling.
