INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD

Last week, my kids' doctor messaged me asking us to come in for surgery for my boy’s adenoids and tonsils removal. I was happy we were finally getting it done, and my boy could start breathing well.

That night as I tried to sleep the weight of the whole thing just hit me, realising that I needed to explain it to the boy and how terrified he was of injections and all really bothered me, anxiety and worry started to creep in.

A lot of thoughts ran through my mind, and they were just projected fear from people’s account of how bad the surgery was for them. I kept praying and quoting scriptures to help calm down.

On the day of the surgery I ended up waiting for up to twelve hours due to various delays on the part of the doctors and just when they were finally ready I had given the boy water and a little snacks. My mistake cost me another four hour wait period.

When it was time, I scrubbed in and went into the theatre with them just to calm him down before he was sedated. Seeing him on the table really made my heart ache. I was asked to leave when he slept off, but i kept on shuffling here and there. I eventually left with my heart in my mouth, muttering prayers for him.

He got out in about two hours, no complications, and i was told that the adenoids removed were so huge, the doctors wondered how he had been coping. I was shown the removed adenoids, and I was shocked. I am grateful he had the surgery done.

He is at home recuperating and doing well. We were told that if we don't ’t eliminate the source of allergies, it might grow back. I am doing my best to make sure we keep him away from dust, perfumes, insecticide, moulds, damp environments, spicy foods, and other smells like cooking oil being overly heated and so on.
Also, they knocked out a tooth during the procedure, so we are obviously seeing a dentist soon.

I was shaking while reading this!!!....Poor darling!
Please give him a hug for me.....This must be a difficult time for you with all these do's and Dont's...... Dont worry motherhood is tough but it gets easier with him as the kids grow......we never stop worrying but things become easier...I wish you all the best as you continue to navigate motherhood..
Come here and take a hug from me...

TO EVERY WOMAN SUFFERING IN SILENCE:...

Love should never hurt.
It shouldn’t make you afraid.
It shouldn’t break your spirit.

Real love brings peace.. not fear.

Maybe you stayed hoping he’d change.
Maybe you stayed to keep the family together.
But peace should never come at the cost of your safety.

If your child is being hurt too
That is more than enough reason to leave.
No child should grow up afraid.
Protecting them starts with protecting yourself.

You don’t need bruises to walk away.
Emotional abuse is real.
Your pain is valid.

You are not weak.
You are not selfish.
You are not the problem.
You are someone worth protecting.
Someone worth saving.
Someone worthy of real love.

Talk to someone you trust.
Make a plan.
Take one small step.
You don’t have to do it all today—
You just have to begin.
One day, you’ll look back and see:
You were the brave one all along.

    6. It's not about it being gory and horror. It's about exposing your soul to demonic forces. During the making of the movie, Ryan Coogler, the maker of the movie, invited an actual hoodoo/voodoo witch to perform some rites on the set. He said it was supposedly for the cast to get an actual feel of the voodoo world. It is said that the incantations said in the movie came from the actual voodoo witch.

  23. Insecurity in Nigeria has escalated to alarming levels, affecting the daily lives of millions and undermining the very fabric of society. From the north to the south, citizens grapple with the pervasive threat of banditry, kidnappings, communal violence, and insurgency. Many Nigerians live in constant fear, their properties, livelihoods, and lives at stake.

The government's response to this escalating crisis raises serious concerns about its priorities. With the next election looming, there seems to be a shift in focus away from urgent security but towards political maneuvering and campaigning.

Those politicians have prioritize the safety of their families and political ambitions not minding the well-being of their citizens.

Compounding this issue is a troubling mentality among some citizens who, either due to privilege or geographical insulation, remain oblivious to the plight of their fellow Nigerians.

Families are torn apart as loved ones are taken or displaced, and communities that once thrived are now plagued by fear and mistrust. Schools have closed, businesses have shuttered, and many citizens have been displaced from their homes, creating no humanitarian aids to those people affected.

Just imagine Burkina Faso’s recent use of drones as a modern means for rapid response to terrorist threats, in Nigerian our politicians are only playing dirty politics with lives. The thing never torch all of us, by then we go no wassup.

@Ali B.i read your post on today's spontaneous post, God bless you for that, am from Benue,my good friend lost parents and siblings in just a day so I know the havoc this insecurity have done.

  27. ABOUT YESTERDAYS CHRONICLE
I read yesterdays chronicle with a bit of alarm. Even though the poster may have genuine reasons to doubt her husband's fidelity, it should not be on the grounds of a herpes outbreak. So madam before you set your marriage on fire, consider this.
    1. Herpes is a very widespread infection that can lie dormant in the body for decades. Some people may experience a herpes breakout at some point and some may never.
    2. There is oral and genital herpes. Even a baby of less than a month can get infected with herpes. That's why it is not advisable to allow random visitors or anyone at all kiss your baby.
    3. Condoms are not always effective in preventing herpes or stopping HSV infection.
    4. When immunity is suppressed like during chemotherapy, dormant HSV infections can break out.
    5. Like all viral infections it has no cure. HSV can cause of a number of cancers, cervical cancer being one of them.

If you have ever kissed someone, had oral, vaginal or anal sex, chances are that you already have the HSV virus that causes herpes. Estimates put it as high as 67% of the global population under age 50 have HSV-1 and 13% have HSV-2.

So for the poster, the herpes outbreak she is currently experiencing may not even be from her husband but from an encounter she had decades ago. Except she met her husband a virgin, she needs to cut him some slack.
The poster should do well to read up on HSV or seek professional medical advise. Don't put tension in your home for nothing.

    1. Thank you!!!

Same thing I said and asked if she married a virgin and the women support group here wanted to feast on me. Watch as they won't engage you for saying almost what I said but let it be me and see them throw insults on me. They're always selective of whom they choose to disrespect and attack here. But I no send anyone. I'll keep saying it regardless of their reactions.

    2. "Except she met her husband a virgin "
We got pure Virgins the ones that wouldn't kiss or do anything oral.
And we got the ones that do stuffs but keep their Virginia.
So if she met her husband a Virgin, which category did she fall into. Ma'am please leave your husband and focus on your health. May your healing me permanent

      Delete
    3. You attacked her saying she is acting like if she met her husband a virgin, like you are 100% sure she didn't

while the man up there says the only reasons she should react is if she met him a virgin.

If you can't see the difference between your comment and his own then that's on you.

      Delete
    4. Emerald are you minding them? I don't blame them nah
When they didnt meet their girlfriends and wives a virgin they automatically assume everyone is like that.

This teejay even attacked the poster yesterday saying,
"And her husband is the only man she ever slept with in this life." Can you imagine?

the confidence he used to say it like he knows the woman in real life or he was the one that divirgined her.

Okay, what if she met aher husband a virgin what advice do you all have for her? Nothing.

When you say, a situation is could be like this or like that then you must also not ignore the other situation and make sure you give a balanced argument. It is only a hypocrite that focuses on only one situation and ignore the other situations. So if she wasn't a virgin then she had it before marriage but if she was a virgin then what advice do you have to give her? Nothing and you think you all were making sense
They all swerved to one side of the argument and made it the only truth and started trying to make the poster feel she is paranoid for no reason.

    8. One thing I discovered from the link you posted is that Bv Nkiru Iwuchukwu insulted Teejay and then changed her blog ID to Abuja babe, maybe that was what you wanted us to see because I dint see anything that shows that Bv Otobong is a scam.

    1. I just read one horrific incident.
A woman and her baby died during CS surgery. Allegedly, doctors cut the baby's head off during the process.

    2. You cannot cut off a baby's head during surgery. Is your poster's CS different? Nne na wa o

    3. This is sad. This is one of the reasons why people run away from CS birth in Nigeria. The good doctors have japa. I hope they sue the hospital and lock it up

  33. To the woman who got off the phone and cried, I felt your emotions, It looked like what I could write.
So many times we that regards ourselves as strong emotionally also need someone to open up to, I think being strong comes from disappointment and betrayal from the people who we love the most but once in a while we also need to vent.
Few times I cry like I was beaten but it doesn't make me feel good afterwards, I have resorted to an act of gratitude and having Faith that all will be well with me.
I wish you all the best sis.

It's mid week already, this year is running.

    Goodafternoon everyone.

I have learnt since that crying will only make you sick & like you said act of gratitude & faith helps. We'll look back & laugh.

    3. I dont know if I finished reading what the lady wrote (because I cant remember if she stated her reason for being sad). My little advice, sometimes saying exactly what the problem is can help BVs proffer solutions. You can go anonymous and tell us what it is. Even if it is panic attack, there must be solution in Jesus name, amen.

    4. Adunni, on the contrary, crying makes me feel better. When I am overwhelmed and I feel like crying, I let out the tears and then I become ok.

  39. The drama here is becoming too childish. I laughed yesterday when Dante pleaded that those that ' trolled' him should apologize. Like seriously, this is social media, faceless ID's and profiles. That they throw shit under your comments doesn't mean that they can come to your face and do so. Do you know any of them or have you met any here.?? Don't expect everybody to be like you, those trolls' are bitter minds , definitely they must be fighting one or two personal demons. It's either you ignore or block.

    1. If there is no drama, what are we going to recap on Sunday?

    2. No be lie you talk. I just wish my Boss Man will just ignore them like he was doing before. I have once said here and let me make a repeat. When one's conscience is dead unto evil and wickedness, nothing pricks them anymore in their acts. You see their comments reek of bitterness and a deep-seated frustration. You begin to imagine, wonder and ask, how were they raised?

Being empathetic, kind & humane becomes alien to them. This is who they are and had become over time. Make no mistake about what I'm gonna say now. The ability to treat people with respect depends on the extent of love and training one got at home. Some people can never change in this life. Not even therapy can help them. They're far gone unto self destruct. Only a matter of time

  49. Martins nwoke oma, I read your comment on gatekeeping information on SP. You are right but there are people that will not believe you even if you're telling them the truth. They will still think there's more to what you told them.

I use raw Shea butter for my body cream. I apply it all over my body except my face. This is something I've been using for close to 20 yrs. My skin /body has this nice, beautiful, clear complexion. My hands and legs look like a new born baby's skin.

I find it amusing seeing disbelief on peoples faces when I tell them I use only Shea butter as my body cream. It doesn't bother me though. I tell you the truth. Whether you choose to believe it or not is your head ache not mine.

  53. Lovely afternoon to you all.
Not ass licking Stella, but I understand that having campaigned for BAT, it will be unwise to openly start campaigning for PO our choice president.
Her blog could be targeted, and we know what can follow suit, especially since it was a business campaign.
Remember, he's the president of the country, the no 1 man, and wills so much power.
Moreover, it's her blog and her right, to choose who to keep campaigning for or promote.
Meanwhile , we PO lovers, can be talking about him and his achievements in the comment session, so the rest of the obedient can see and follow up with him. I'm sure Stella won't have problem with it.

So let's just leave this and pray 2027, God will answer us and put the best candidate there.
