This would be a significant expansion of the travel ban announced by the administration early this month.

The list of countries was contained in a State Department memo, according to The Washington Post.
In total, there are 25 African nations facing visa bans or other restrictions.
The memo, which was signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, revealed that the governments of listed countries have a 60-day ultimatum, to meet new benchmarks and requirements established by the State Department.
It set a deadline of 8am on Wednesday for them to provide an initial action plan for meeting the requirements.
The memo noted that some countries had “no competent or cooperative central government authority to produce reliable identity documents or other civil documents,” or they suffered from “widespread government fraud.”
Others had large numbers of citizens who overstayed their visas in the United States.
The countries facing scrutiny in the memo:
Angola;
Antigua and Barbuda;
Benin;
Bhutan;
Burkina Faso;
Cabo Verde;
Cambodia;
Cameroon;
Democratic Republic of Congo;
Djibouti;
Dominica;

ReplyDeleteShey they said he invited Kumuyi of deeper life, so he go favor Naija. Kikikikik.Make Yankee White Millonaires in dollars(at least) Again
What about those that have loved ones in US, can’t they visit?
ReplyDeleteNo, they can't. Also those who already have visas may be more heavily scrutinized or sent back to their country and their visa revoked by the immigration.
DeleteI have been telling ppl for ages that having a visa does not guarantee you entry into any country, it only guarantees that you can get on the plane to land in the country, whether you gain access to enter is determined at the airport.
The they should hands off Ghana Crude Oil and shut down dia military bases
ReplyDeleteUS is building the largest embassy in the world at Eko Atlantic.
ReplyDeleteWhat an irony if this is true.
DeleteAnd Nigeria is among the country they want to ban. They should continue.
DeleteCan't we also ban them from entering our country? Aura for aura? They're the ones coming into our country to make money and leave large with heavy security
DeleteOf course Game mistress the Naija govt can ban them too.
DeleteIf they ban us, Nigerian government should also ban them, tit for that.
DeleteLet us not reason line chickens.
DeleteHow much does Nigeria send to the USA in terms of aid that you want to ban people who are bringing in a huge stash of investment and creating jobs? How many Nigerian families rely on money being sent from the USA for survival? How many jobs and businesses are reliant on such money? What would the armed forces be without the support of the American military? How many of our development projects are being funded by them even despite USAID shutting down?
I really wonder what the average Nigerian level of intelligence is. Even diplomacy is completely alien to the people who benefit from it most.
They've listed their criteria: we have initiated a system for identification and banking but Nigerians have developed all forms of conspiracies and excuses regarding NIN. If they didn't need their accounts to live, they won't even have BVN.
Our government has always been cooperative- despite being out of office since 2007, Tinubu has always been invited to activities at the IS consulate, even the groundbreaking of their embassy. From attending the primaries that produced Obama and keeping ties with former state players like Guliani and the entire state actors having assets and links in the USA. The additional thing to do is intensify lobbying on the republican and business front to resound the narrative of the country's reforms that have made it more investment friendly and show it's gains in security especially in states like Kaduna and the northwest. Get money ready for American military equipment to wash away all sins like Saudi.
The last criteria, government cannot help: overstaying visas. Nigerians who have gone ahead and misbehaved have shut the door for others. Really unfortunate that the same law breakers will look at their fellow criminals in government and be insulting him.
It is so obvious even to a child. Interesting times.
ReplyDeleteStella, is Trump still your guy?
I like Trump as a person and yes hes still my guy
DeleteI love Trump, not because he favours me, you Nigerians are hypocrites, una dey find where una go do fraud,na Trump fit una!!
DeleteSt Kitts and Nevis made the list. How many passports does one have to buy for God's sake? It has better spread than other CBI programmes so it was really convenient for people across the middle East Asia and Africa. I guess there's no point in people going for another Caribbean one. The problem for people is the cost of the USA option and whether it won't be cancelled after Trump .
DeleteFunny thing is, people who use this option have to have the pockets to stimulate the economy and do so in the real estate and high end luxury markets, even running big businesses and patronising premium hospitality establishments. Their kids go to elite private schools and their taxes keep schools in nice districts well funded. They are not the cause of the USA's problem. A hustler who impregnates a desperate citizen to tidy his papers or paid for a sham marriage is breathing easy and others with their ducks in a row are being hassled.
America keeps shooting itself in the foot. Isolationism doesn't work. All this will do is give China room to dominate and establish itself as the dominant force in Africa.
ReplyDeleteThere remains no logic to Trump's actions aside him throwing red meat to his racist base.
Does that means those that have been given immigrant visa will not be allowed entry into US?
ReplyDeleteBuy a dictionary
DeleteYes dear.
DeleteI don't think it applies to green card holders but I won't be surprised if it stretches that far.
DeleteNigeria build your country like the Saudis please.
ReplyDeleteTogether
DeleteWhat will those who are planning to enter USA do now? Na wah ooo
ReplyDelete@Boss Lady go else where, or better still stay in Nigeria and make it great again!
DeleteGo before 60 days to be sure but I doubt he will actually ban visas to Nigeria
DeleteAlmost all the African countries. 😌😌😌
ReplyDeleteAll those ignoramuses supporting this guy, see your life?" The guy is a corrupt degenerate of the highest order. America will reap what it sowed. He reminds me of this bible verse "And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions."
ReplyDeleteHe's fighting for the betterment of his county.
DeleteFight for you own.
See talk abeg! Why are you pained that someone is refusing you access to his home? Why not arrange yours to suit that standard that you seek elsewhere?
DeleteYou even join Bible for the talk. Wow!
@Anon, I support him wholeheartedly no shame, make una better your country and retaliate..Africa wake up ooooo, stop looking for handouts!!
DeleteNa you be ignoramus. If Americans didn't develop America, will everyone be trooping there, especially our people that go there to pollute the land. When will we also develop our nation so that the world will beg to visit and remain in Nigeria, when?
DeleteIt's well
