Mr Kenny Okolugbo, the Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has formally petitioned Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police over what he describes as a coordinated cyberattack and defamation campaign targeted at tarnishing his image....
According to the petition, Okolugbo’s verified X account was hacked and used to publish false statements. The false statements were amplified by influencers Tunde Ednut, Rufai Oseni, and Adeola Fayehun, who he claims added fabricated details like phone cloning, voice manipulation, and fictitious meetings in London.
He emphasized that the false narratives promoted online were not contained in the original hacked post, showing that it was indeed orchestrated, suggesting deliberate malice and manipulation aimed at tarnishing his public image.
He believes the campaign was designed to support allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and damage his credibility.

He has requested a full investigation under Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act, including preservation of digital evidence and prosecution of those involved.
He also submitted travel documents to prove he hadn’t left Nigeria in 2025, countering claims of overseas meetings this year.....
