Ibrahim Bello, the Emir of Gusau in Zamfara State, has died at the age of 71 after battling a long-term illness. He passed away on Friday in Abuja.
The news of his death was confirmed by Sulaiman Idris, spokesperson to Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal.



Newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has pledged to work with all stakeholders to unite, strengthen, and expand the ruling party. Yilwatda gave the assurance during his acceptance speech at the 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC, held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

 The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scheduled its elective National Convention to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025. The decision was announced in an 11-point communiqué issued after the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Speaking on Thursday at the Kano State Stakeholders’ Dialogue on the 2025 Constitutional Amendment, Kwankwaso said the national resources have been concentrated on the development of the southern part of the country, while the North is being neglected.

. Ayo Pelumi, suspected killer of a photojournalist based in Kogi State, has reportedly committed suicide. The suspect allegedly murdered his friend, identified as Ayo Aiyepeku, around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

 President Bola Tinubu yesterday took a swipe at the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a “coalition of confusion.” Speaking at the 14th meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as the party’s new national chairman, Tinubu said it is not a bad idea to abandon a sinking ship.

 A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the Inspector-General of Police and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to pay ₦10 million in damages to some #EndSARS protesters for the violation of their fundamental rights. Trial judge, Justice Musa Kakaki, in his judgment, held that the applicants/protesters were unjustly harassed and their constitutional rights were infringed upon while participating in the fourth memorial rally held on October 20, 2024.

 In a major breakthrough against insurgency in the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Air Component, Civilian Joint Task Force, and local hunters, have dismantled several terrorist supply networks and neutralized scores of fighters in a series of ambushes, raids, and fighting patrols. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday.

 At least 14 villagers and a mobile police officer were killed on Thursday in two separate attacks carried out by gunmen in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. It was gathered that one of the attacks took place around 4:00 p.m. as the victims, mostly from the Chirang community, were returning from Bokkos market to Mangor village in the locality.

A 59-year-old woman, Rakiyat Musa, was on Thursday arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court sitting at Tinubu, Lagos Island, for allegedly impersonating a Nigerian Customs officer and obtaining over ₦34,116,000 under false pretence. Musa, who appeared before Magistrate B. I. Amos, is facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence, stealing, impersonation, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, and National Union of Electricity Employees, on Thursday, resisted the ban on industrial actions by power sector workers as contained in the proposed Electricity Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The Federal Government, in the proposed Electricity Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025, before the National Assembly, will no longer tolerate blackouts orchestrated by labour unions under the guise of protests or strikes, if the bill is passed.

Tension gripped residents of the Omi-Ata area in Meiran, Lagos State, following a deadly cult-related attack that led to the killing of a young man identified only as Rahman.
The incident, which occurred on Monday night, was reportedly carried out by a group of armed men suspected to be members of a rival cult group. According to local sources, the attackers stormed the community and pursued Rahman to his family residence. On sighting the group, Rahman attempted to flee and sought refuge in a nearby house, but the assailants tracked him down and killed him.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that Rahman was allegedly affiliated with the Aye confraternity, while his attackers were said to be members of the rival Eiye group. During the attack, other occupants of the house where Rahman was cornered reportedly sustained injuries, triggering panic among residents who fled the scene for safety.

  1. alot of things are going on if you check the headline news in Nigeria but so unfortunately that the youth dnt re care about the headlines, killings and crime everywhere nobody to hold the govt down big time, its a great opportunity to use the social media to correct these leaders. Killing like it normal make me wonder.

    The guy must have done something for them to track nd eventually kpai him.
    Youths wasting away their precious time and energy . It is well !
