Nigerian Actors Currently Enlisted In The U.S. Military

A growing number of Nollywood actors have taken bold steps abroad,and switched careers by enlisting in the United States military....Not that there is anything wrong with enlisitng in the Nigerian army but......
Anyway below are some of the actors who have made the transition and earned the right to lie in the US without anyone stressing them....



Mayowa Dosu — U.S. Army
Mayowa Dosu enlisted in the U.S. Army after relocating to the U.S.
She featured in films like Fears, Mamami, and Compromise.

 Joseph Momodu — U.S. Army
Joseph Momodu is the latest Nollywood actor to complete U.S. Army Basic Combat Training in April 2026.
He featured in Coming to Nigeria, Play 2 Kill, A Fool For Trust, and TV series like Tinsel, Soul Sisters, and The Johnsons.
Momodu said his late father’s service in the Nigerian Police inspired his military journey.

 Princess Chineke — U.S. Army
Princess Chineke enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 2024 after relocating to the U.S.
She is known for roles in To Love A Sister, Stormy Hearts, and Masters At War.
She described her enlistment as a decision to “serve her adopted country.”

Grace‑Charis Bassey (formerly Belinda Effah) — U.S. Navy
Belinda Effah joined the U.S. Navy in May 2025.
During her Nollywood career, she won the AMAA Award for Most Promising Act of the Year.

  2. It's been a while since Joseph Momodu graced the screens. I think for him, fame didn't translate to money. He was made for the fine/bad boy roles in terms of looks and build but I guess the politics of it didn't quite work out.

    Good to know he chose a respectable honest path of bettering himself instead of doing what others are doing.

    Joining the army, you should know of the possibility of being on the frontline.

  6. These ppl are smart. The military provides a free education, lodgings, good benefits and a salary. Best to rain in something though to get the best benefits. Being a US military personnel carries honour in that country. Congratulations
