Chronicle Of A Happily Divorced Woman -Part 5

When I celebrate that I am divorced from the person i married, I am the only who who knows the Joy i derive from doing so and why every day would be a day to celebrate parting from the monster i married......Todays Narrative will shock you!!!

One day after close of work, I went to pick our kid from creche. On getting home, the gate was locked. I then remembered my keys were with my ex (he forgot his keys at his mum’s place and had mine).

My landlord and family travelled so no one to help open the gate. The neighbour downstairs was not back home. I called my ex and he said he was on his way home so we sat outside to wait for him.

When it was about to rain, I moved to an old bakery near our house and sat on the veranda. But as the rain became heavy, the roof of the bakery began to leak. It was getting late around 8:00 pm, so I called my ex again to ask him if he was almost home.
He replied that he was coming. So, I just used the jacket of my dress to cover both of us, as I was already shivering. When the rain stopped a bit, I went to get biscuits as I knew the child was getting hungry. I was cold, hungry, disappointed and tired as I walked to the junction.

On my way back, I sighted my ex walking down after almost 3 hours of waiting. When he saw me, he couldn’t even say sorry about the delay. He only told me to bring the baby. I said he shouldn’t worry since we were almost home.

The next thing he hit me with the bag he was carrying and I stumbled. I found myself in the gutter. What amazed me was his lack of empathy coupled with so much anger issues. Was I not the one who was supposed to be angry?

Thankfully, the gutter was freshly cemented with no water but I cut my leg and it was bleeding. Thankfully again, the child was not hurt. I sat there for sometime to get my bearings.

In the silence of the night, I heard a voice ask me ‘Madam, what are you doing here’? I turned around and saw an elderly man looking at me. He asked again what happened to me? I didn’t know when the tears started flowing. He told me not to cry again and helped us out.

He then asked me if that was my husband. I nodded yes and he told me sorry, that I should just go home and sleep. And shouldn’t say anything to my ex. I nodded in thanks and did as he said.
When I got home. Hmmmmm

To be contd…

It is so annoying reading what this man did to you!!!
You were definitely married to a mentally unstable human...
