Late SP Joseph Wayas And EX PMAN President Charlyboy Banned For 1 Year By Arik Air

In 2009, Charly Boy, former president of the Performing Musicians Employers' Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and the late Senate President, Dr. Joseph Wayas were banned for ONE YEAR from flying Arik Airlines.

Both men were accused of forcefully occupying seats in the business class instead of economy class, which ticket they had. They were also alleged to have threatened the crew with the popular, "do you know who I am?". Five others including a Journalist were also banned by Arik that same year for various offences"

    2. Wayas definitely could not- his car in 2003 was a Peugeot 504 if I recall. Good luck's government tried to help him but I am not sure how much actually got to him and the demands exceeded supply. What did Charlie boy do to earn money except release dry songs for government to buy him over with. This is why he and Dele Adeyanju fell out that year.

  4. It still baffles me how people see this Charlie boy man as a worthy example to the youths, just because he supports PO.
Nothing in his history has been positive or inspiring

    1. I wonder how P.O got into this conversation.

Anyways, Charly Boy doesn’t enjoy the same level of reverence that Fela, Davido, 2Face, or even Portable command, despite their own share of controversies. It goes to show that a man’s character can be judged separately from his crafts.

However, his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment sector cannot be whittled down.
People only spoke up when they started renaming a street named after him, just because of anti-Igbo sentiments. It had nothing to do with P.O.
