She said the industry’s obsession with one million views has changed the true standard of success and discouraged genuine creativity.
She said:
"A lot of things are going on in the industry and we also don't talk about it. There are so many producers that are buying views on YouTube and these people make the people who are working clean look like they are not working. And sometimes as human beings if you are not careful you start getting carried away you start feeling like you are not enough.
Two, three years ago doing one million views was not a regular thing but a lot of people's standard of success has become one million views and it's also because we are also not looking at the things surrounding it."

ReplyDeleteLooks like it
DeleteHmmm hope you no dey jealous somebody
ReplyDeleteYou can't be in charge all the time Ruth. Besides, other people utilise IG with catchy movie snippets that get fans inquisitive. I hardly ever see yours. Stop sounding jealous!
DeleteTry focus on doing better movies. You are retrogressing. And many have overtaken you.
ReplyDeleteSo the views you thought are bought, might not be.
She could say anything about YouTube because SHE was the only one who didn't give up on it when others were hustling cinema and Netflix plus other streaming platforms
ReplyDeleteNigerians always cutting corners on everything
ReplyDeleteThe sky is enough. 🙄🙄🙄
ReplyDeleteThe truth is that views can be bought. Dear Ruth, don't get distracted by the noise. Focus on becoming better than your previous records.
ReplyDelete@12.23Some really unrealistic and just filled with attractive bum women movies have major views just because of the later not for the story
ReplyDeleteShe's right but I think the timing of this talk is not right, people may think she's referring to the new sweetheart movie in town.
ReplyDeleteYou're right 👍🏼
DeleteThe success of another doesn't make you a failure. Whether they buy views or not, it should motivate you and not make you feel down. In contrast. Never use another to judge your road.
ReplyDeleteBut if you buy views on youtube via google ads, you cant monetize the views you got via adverts...
ReplyDeleteBut Ruth, you cannot be on top for ever. Haba!
ReplyDeleteRuth, the sky is big enough for everyone to fly.
ReplyDeleteInvest in movie promotion and the views will come in millions.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you’re not one of them that buy views ? Because the day I tried to watch one of your movies with Osas Ighodaro I was terribly disappointed
ReplyDeleteMadam, stop producing only romantic movies, why not produce movies based on true life that includes, suffering, hardship, tragedy etc. l stopped watching your movies a long time ago because it's 90% romantic and nothing else.
