Chronicle Of A Person Living With A Positive Status

The other day,I saw a guy at the clinic with his mum, from what I gathered he's been falling sick for sometime and he was asked to run some blood tests and it came out he is positive amongst other illnesses.

You need to see how broken the mother was, she was crying and lamenting as if it's the end of the world....

I honestly don't blame her, which mother will hear such and not cry? that's why most of us hide it from our parents cos most of them don't know much info about it except that it doesn't have cure and it kills, in fact to some people, hiv is the most dreaded sickness in the world, once they hear it, they believe the end has come.

Anyway, both of them were counseled , they now asked the guy to drop the contact of all the girls he had had sxxx with, so they can inform them anonymously without mentioning him, in order for them to be aware and go for testing too.

Imagine a lady receiving that kind of call that someone who tested positive has dropped your contact as one of his " beneficiary" it's so scary.

I wasn't privileged to know how many contacts he dropped cos they took him inside the inner room . I know at the end of the day the guy will be okay after taking his medication but I just hope the mother will be able to come to terms with her son's status.

Come to terms with it and not spread it or use it to mock him later

She can never come to terms with it except the son educates her that it’s not a death sentence that he would be fine if GRV takes his meds religiously and live a healthy lifestyle

  2. This rubs me the wrong way. I want to believe this young man you are talking about is over 18? It is gross malpractice for any medical staff to reveal his medical information to his mom. As much as he is her son, it is not her business to know such information unless he chooses to tell her.

  4. Maybe he went with his mother, because he needed her love and comfort to come to terms with his status, She might not come to terms with it, but I doubt, she would mock him it his status. It's well. Good health is underrated.

    1. He doesn't need to take the drugs. If she's taking her drugs religiously, her viral load will be low. So hiv can't be transmitted.

  7. She might not really come to terms with it. It's hard, it's difficult, it's painful, to some it's like a death sentence.
May God heal her heart and guide them accordingly .
