The news was confirmed by family sources and the Nigerian Association of Muslim Law Students (NAMLAS), have also announced his death after a prolonged illness.
Muhammad served as CJN from June 2019 until his abrupt resignation in June 2022, two years before the mandatory retirement age. Appointed by then-President Muhammadu Buhari following the controversial suspension of his predecessor, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad was the first PhD holder to lead Nigeria’s judiciary.
His tenure, however, was marked by controversy, including allegations of executive interference and concerns over judicial welfare, which prompted his exit citing health reasons.

RIP to him

ReplyDeleteThat’s how they’re always running to other countries that has well equipped hospitals, Buhari died in London, this one Saudi, others different countries, no matter where they run reach if it’s their time they’ll bundle their lifeless body back. Out of wickedness they’ve refused to take our health sector seriously simply because they embezzle enough for the purpose of running like a headless chicken to other countries, enriching those countries while our own remains in shambles.
