The driver of the Lexus SUV that was carrying Anthony Joshua and his two associates (both of whom tragically lost their lives in the crash) has been taken into police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to statements from the Ogun State Police Command, the driver is being held in connection with the accident while authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Reports indicate that the SUV collided with a stationary truck along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, resulting in the deaths of Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, both close members of Joshua’s team.

Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital while the two men who died have since been returned home for burial.

  1. Why are trucks parked on the highway indiscriminately. I’m not making a case for the driver, he should be charged for manslaughter but really what’s the govt doing about these trucks. From Mile2 to Berger Lagos, Trucks are parked on the road and it’s dangerous

    1. The driver will always try to save themselves in any collision. Safest place to sit is behind the driver. Anyhow, this accident was on the passenger side, the driver does not appear to have good depth perception and issues with staying in his lane. It looks like it could have been completely been avoided if he wasn’t speeding. I also feel he has a vision problem. Lots of ppl with bad vision are behind wheels depending on muscle memory to get them around. If you can’t see properly what you doing behind the wheel of any vehicle. Sad all around.

  4. The driver should be punished for excessive speed, assuming he wasn't speeding, this wouldn't have happened, even the passengers would have cautioned him, plus the truck that was packed at the roadside, this was avoidable death, two people just wasted like that, it's very painful.

  8. But the truck was on the hard shoulder of the highway, not on any of the lanes. The driver is reckless, and those who hired him or are in the car with him are culpable as well, I would never allow anyone to drive me recklessly.
