DeleteI was thinking I should give up alcohol for like 6 months this year, I just thought about it o, didn't make any resolution or anything like that, I just thought about it.
I chilled differents drinks cuz I was expecting guests yesterday, only for me to open a can of heineken and downed it. Later in the evening, I was looking at a bottle of white wine, I brought it out, I looked at it for a while, then kept it back, I don't know if I was too tired to drink cuz I was too tired to eat.
I woke up hungry today, ate and drank an insane amount of coffee.

DeleteMy wife is a very quiet woman. Soft, drama free, stress free, and calm. And I have an adorable long haired daughter. And yet I was losing them to billionaires younger than I am.
Well I've since made my decision. I quit football totally, stopped getting bothered by Manchester United, and football in it's entirety.
The result: my bond with madam is stronger and better and my small angel is connecting more with me.
I won't trade this peace for anything.

DeleteI was all geared up to grab a snack this evening when suddenly I heard my neighbor unleashing a torrent of verbal abuse at her husband. talk about a tongue lashing! Truck load of insults and curses on her husband. I was like 'seriously, 'what crawled into this woman this evening to trigger such a vicious tongue wagging fest on her husband this new year for heaven's sake?' Suddenly,...before I could say jack! he gave her a resounding slap.
ReplyDeleteBefore I could even figure out what was going on, they were going toe-to-toe and drawing in the whole neighborhood into their mess.
Things escalated quickly, and Mr. Perfect turned into Mr. Nightmare, started manhandling her like she owed him cash. Slapping and hitting her so hard. I thought, 'Not on my watch!' So, I sprinted over, gave him a firm nudge, and asked if he was suicidal, because only a crazy person hits a woman.
Everyone else seemed to be thinking, 'This is crazy,' but they were too busy spectating. one woman standing so far away from the drama said "Oga e don do, no beat her again." 🥺😠
After I intervened, she latched onto me like I was her guardian angel, bawling her eyes out, and my heart was all, 'Whoa, okay, girl, I've got you, it's going to be fine. the husband just stood dazed watching.
She was bawling her eyes out and clinging to me for dear life, I know this woman had been through a lot lately, a whole lot that I just can't narrate here but seeing the husband who is supposed to be her rock pummelling her was like the final straw, it got me all teary and I joined the crying fest with her, next thing I know she's grabbed my head and planted a kiss on my lips, I was like what's going on here? My tears dried up real quick as I tried to play it cool, but inside I was all like what just happened? Then she bursts into tears again saying "Aunty B, you see I kissed you, this man has ruined my life with his lack of love and care, I don tire for this marriage." She made other comments, but I will limit my remarks to this. and then she dropped to her knees, crying uncontrollably at my feet, I didn't know what to think anymore, luckily the neighbors were too busy minding their business, the husband suddenly grew a conscience and came over, I calmly schooled him on how to treat a woman who doesn't know when to stop throwing tantrums. and before I knew it, he was all apologies, lifting her up, telling her everything will be alright, and shh-ing her to stop crying.
She served him a plate of frosty silence, but he just went ahead and wrapped her in a big ol' squeeze, begging for forgiveness while sweet-talking her into coming inside to sort things out. I just calmly exited, especially as other onlookers calmly went back into their apartments.

So.. that was how I got heartbreak on this very new year.
ReplyDeleteOn Timaya day in Bayelsa, after all the standing for hours I got tired, took off my shoes and was sitting on the field jejely minding my own business.
This man was walking past, saw me and asked if I was tired, I said yes.
He told me let him go and buy drink for me so I can cool down.
Me normally had no intention of drinking anything aside the water I drank earlier.
That was how I said okay and followed him and he asked what will I drink and I told him I can take malt.
On getting to the selling spot, the seller gave me the malt and he asked how much, the woman told him it's #800, he brought out #500 that that's what he had that I should go for soft drink(abeg malt na hard drink?).. told him I don't take soda or other caffeinated drinks..
"I have only #500".. and that was how he walked away without looking back.
The seller was like wtf.
I just brought out money and paid and kuku add kpekere join.
I mean.. what was he thinking? To embarrass me or...?
The soft drink he was even hammering on is more than #500.
That was how I chopped my first heartbreak this morning.
