The raid came from an ongoing investigation into cases of kidnapping, abduction, missing children, and child trafficking.
It was triggered by a distress call received through the Command's control room from relatives of three girls who had gone missing since September 26, 2025, in Ebonyi State.
The victims Divine (14), Favour (15), and Blessing (18) were reportedly sighted at a building along Emma Pigin Road in Aguleri.
Acting on this information, police stormed the location and found the three missing girls among the larger group of 33 underage victims.
Authorities described the premises as a suspected hub for child trafficking and forced oloso. One female suspect, Ifeoma Success Anthony, aged 37, was arrested during the operation. Preliminary investigations indicate that the building is owned by another woman, Ngozi Nnanyelugo (45), who remains at large.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the details in an official statement, emphasizing that the Command remains committed to protecting vulnerable children and urged members of the public to provide useful information to support ongoing investigations. The rescued girls have been taken into protective custody for medical attention, care, and rehabilitation, with support from relevant state authorities
